Review: I recently ordered a pair of reading glasses from this store based on an eye exam administered by their optometrist. As soon as I started wearing my new glasses, I started getting severe headaches and blurred vision problems. When I complained to the store, they told me I needed additional 2 pairs of glasses to mitigate the problem. I followed their recommendation and got additional 2 pairs of glasses but my problems got only worse. Finally, I had decided to go for a second opinion and went to an ophthalmologist who found the prescription from Cohen's completely wrong and gave me a new prescription. I went to Cohen's with my new prescription and, based on their ridiculous no-refund policy, decided to work with them to have a new prescription filled. They promised to deliver the new prescription within a week and to provide me with a detailed statement of the store credit that was owed to me due to the fact that, based on my ophthalmologist's prescription, I only needed 2 pairs of glasses, not 3 and I did not need progressive vision lenses that Cohen's optometrist had erroneously recommended earlier. Needless to say, no one from Cohen's called me the following week and I had to call them myself and complained that they were dragging their feet while my vision had continued to deteriorate to a point where I was becoming ineffective at work. The person I was on the phone with from the store was very rude and non-cooperative. When I tried to contact the Cohen's corporate headquarters, no one would respond to me. They only responded when I wrote a complaint on their [redacted] page. The person who contacted me from Cohen's Consumer Relations appeared nice at first but in the end turned out to be just as useless as the rest of the Cohen's personnel at that store. Currently, they are trying to swindle me out of any potential refund by trying to bump up the price of the designer frames I picked for my glasses to about $550 whereas, at the time I picked those frames, Cohen's advertised them for $299. I think this particular store is a disgrace to NYC business community and I'm sure I'm not the only customer complaining about them.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a complete refund for all the services or lack thereof that I received at Cohen's. Review: I was examined by an optometrist on 10/**/13 and given a new contact lens prescription. The optometrist said I had [redacted] -- because of lack of sufficient [redacted] to the [redacted] because of of prolonged use of contact lenses. I need to change them every two weeks. The franchise advertises an eye examination with a 6 month supply of contact lenses for $99. I paid the total amount but was not given the contact lenses because they didn't have them in stock. I have been waiting for the contact lenses Ever since. Every week I call and am told the shipment is late. The same excuse was used on the week of 10/** and 10/**. I stopped by on the [redacted] and they gave me a pair. On 10/** They were promised on the 10/**. I gave them one extra day and called today, 11/*. Now I'm told the shipment was incorrect and they had to place a "rush shipment" and would get them next week. The lack of professionalism and incompetence is beyond belief! I need my contact lenses as I'm suppose to change them every two weeks and it is now time to do that.Desired Settlement: I want my contact lenses ASAP. Don't know how many other customers are dealing with this incompetence!
