Cohen's Fashion Optical (Forest Hills)

Review: I brought myself and 2 other people to this establishment for complete eye exams, glasses and contacts. Each person spent close to a thousand dollars in products by the visits end. Two people purchased designer frames and lenses and upon pick up, only one person received the proper designers frame case. When I inquired about the other designers frame case, I was told that they would make a call to see about getting it. They called back, leaving a message that there was nothing they could do and no case to be had.

Now I'm left with having paid $300.00 for glasses without their proper case. Had there been notification of some sort prior to purchasing them, I most definitely would have chosen frames that came with their proper packaging. After having worn and purchased glasses for the better part of 30 years, I've never encountered such poor business practices or policies. I have also never purchased designer goods without their signature container, packaging and authentic insignia or documentation. Furthermore, I also find it hard to believe that [redacted], the designer who's frames I purchased, would be any happier with the way in which her products and their integrity are being compromised at this establishment.Desired Settlement: I expect the proper glasses case, packaging and authentic insignia or documentation for the purchased [redacted] Python frames.

Review: A little over a year ago I purchased 3 pairs of prescription glasses from Cohen's Fashion Optical in Forest Hills. One pair was bifocals with what was claimed to be a titanium frame for which I paid over $400.

Within 6 months the brown finish on the frame started coming off and after about a year only the bare metal was showing, this on a pair of frames costing a substantial sum of money..

After a little over a year the "titanium" frame snapped despite little use of those glasses. They functioned no differently than cheap knockoffs from China for which I was charged an exorbitant price of a few hundred dollars.

In addition, despite the fact that I chose to have various coatings on the lenses at a substantial additional price, every 30 minutes or so the lenses fogged up to the extent that they were unusable and had to be cleaned every 30 minutes. The manager at Cohen's subsequently suggested that I have the coating removed which he said would solve this issue and they did indeed have to remove the coating which partially corrected the problem. Recall that I paid a premium to have the glasses coated which resulted in this problem.

I also purchased at the same time 2 pairs of reading glasses for which I paid approximately $200 each. After about 6 months the frame on one pair literally came apart and was unfixable. The frame on the other pair took a shape of its own to such an extent that they were unusable and had to be thrown out.

In sum, I paid over $700 for 3 pairs of prescription glasses and today not one of them is usable.

The quality of their eyeglasses is exceedingly poor and unacceptable for a store charging the prices that they do. I strongly suspect that they use cheap poor quality frames which resulted in the issues I had.

I subsequently approached the store asking that they assist in resolving my issues which they refused to do.Desired Settlement: I would like the three pairs of glasses I purchased replaced.
