On Tue, Nov 22, 2016 at 2:05 PM, [redacted]> wrote:Patty, thank you for your reply regarding my complaint with Coit Carpeting, [redacted]  I believe your reference number is ID [redacted].  We used Coit service in response to a coupon offer from Coit providing a discount at three levels based on the total price of the service. My order totaled $189.76 which included the minimum plus one additional service of $#43.00, thereby entitling us to a discount on the $43.00 additional service. I called several times to explain my position regarding the discount, but I was told that the Manager will have tp review the matter.  I never got a call from Coit until I filed the complaint with the Revdex.com. Then I got a call from Coit offering a 50 percent refund on the $43.00.  I accepted the refund offer. This could have been avoided if Coit would have responded to one of my calls.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
At this point I am utterly appalled by the lack of customer service Coit has provided.  Not once in that message they sent did they inform anyone that it took my daughter in law calling- to no effect.  Then she went online and publicly complained on their Facebook page- to finally get some attention.  I travel a lot during the month of December, and that month is busy for everyone, so it is not my fault that they took so long, first responding and then taking longer to come back out.  Someone was supposedly to come back out when my daughter in law called but when the guy came out he acted like he had no idea what we were talking about.  Re-treating the couches with whatever dirty water and chemicals they used the first time would only in my opinion make the matter worse.  Not to mention the second burden of having them come out- time spent and wet furniture after the fact.  I have been unable to use my couches, in fact- I recently sold them on 1/9/2016 to a person on Craig's list.  If you want the proof I can send over the exchange.  They were sold for $300.00.  So not only did I pay Coit to clean them- then sold them and actually lost money.  Now the only thing I have in my living room is a chair.  I am now searching for new furniture.  I am embarrassed for Coit and the behavior and verbiage they have used accusing an elderly man of trying to get a refund.  In all matters a refund for treating my furniture should be given.  I no longer have the pieces and have proof.  I could not even keep them in my house.  For a company in business for 45 years, you would think they would treat someone a little better.  When a customer has a good experience they tell one person- when a person has a bad experience, they tell ten.  Does Coit accuse everyone with an unsatisfactory experience of having "ulterior motives"?????

Review: I called and requested Colt to clean my duck work, carpet and furniture. No long after they did the work did I noticed four stains reoccurred. I own a rainbow vacuum and when I vacuum my carpeting to this day I am still unable to clean my carpeting downstairs because my machine is still removing their chemicals out of the carpeting and clogged up my machine to the point that I can only vacuum if I change that water periodically. They did this work for me back in Sept of 2012. I did nothing thinking I did not have nor did I wish for them to come into my home AGAIN. Till now and the whole thing just aggravates me to no end. To know that I trusted a well know firm and paid them a "lot" of money to not do what they said they would do and since a friend of mine said to file a compliant so others are not taken by this company, is why I am now filing this compliant.Desired Settlement: Since I unable to vacuum my carpeting without loading up my machine with chemicals, I feel some sort of refund should be applied. I do not feel cleaning carpeting is a good thing and now I will have to have my carpeting cleaned again just to remove chemicals left in my carpeting.

Response:

In regards to the [redacted] complaint ID [redacted],1 sincerely apologize for any delay in responding to this complaint. I personally responded via the Revdex.com website after receiving your letter a month ago. Coit obviously values the Revdex.com and wants to continue the long relationship that we have always appreciated. I think if you look at our history you will find we have always tried to rectify any issues in a fair and timely fashion.

As for Mrs. [redacted], as stated previously, we performed multiple services for her on October 12th 2012. We go over everything that we do with the customer before leaving the home to be sure that they are satisfied and then do follow up calls with in weeks to see if all is well with the job. Mrs. [redacted] never responded in any way for almost 4-5 months. That period of time is quite long to determine that you are not satisfied with the job we did. She states that she is still removing chemicals from her carpet to this day. Coit uses all bio-degradable solvents which will emulsify almost immediately there for leaving literally nothing with the exception of a little moisture in the carpet. There is no guarantee that we can remove 100% of anything that the customer or another cleaning company may have spotted the carpets with during a prior cleaning. We offered to re-clean but the customer has stated she doe not want us back and does not want the carpets re-cleaned. To refund her money after such an extended period just did not make good business sense in our estimation. We pride ourselves on our customer satisfaction, that is why we have been in business for over 45 years and have such a good reputation. Our relationship with the Revdex.com is very important to us, please feel free to call me at ###-###-#### if you have any questions or comments.

I will follow up with a phone call next week to insure that you received this letter.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I called Colt at the time of the service and complained that the spots that I wanted to be treated already came back. I also stated that I have a Rainbow carpet cleaner whereby the dirt that I vacuum go right into water reservoir. I cannot vacuum my carpets because the water pan fills up with foam and chocks out the vacuum, therefore making it unable to vacuum. When I called Colt, they could not give to me any answer. Therefore I had to make a complaint to the Revdex.com. I am in business and when there is a problem, that is business, I try to resolve the problem before it grows. When Colt made no apologize or any kind of restoration, then I found it necessary to contact the Revdex.com. If you look back in your records, you will find that I am not the kind of person who reports a problem such as this, in fact I do not think I EVERY did so. I cannot even watch television any more, when I see Colts commercial, I just cringe. I do not expect Colt to refund my expense. Shame on me that I trusted Colt to service my home doing what they are supposed to do after that is what they do.

I must amend my previous review. This company called me with on 1 day of my email to them expressing my dissatisfaction. Provided pertinent info and, as site states, are coming back to redo it for free. Great customer service which definitely changed my opinion for the better

Review: Coit cleaned my carpeting and my couches. My home immediately smelled like old dirty mop water. Called to complain, to which they "never had that issue before". I opened my windows and ran fans daily, after one week still no resolve. Called Coit again and was told maybe it was due to an issue with the padding in my carpet, would send someone to check. This was in December in which I was having company throughout the month. Noticing the smell was so bad my son and daughter-in-law brought over their shop vac a cleaned my carpets to remove the smell. When Coit finally visited my house they "did not smell anything" since we had already recleaned the carpets ourselves. I mentioned to having a reaction to the cleaner they used on my couch. Every time I sit on, or near the couch, my eyes burn, and itch. This has also happened to my son when he has visited. Called Coit to ask about the chemical used to clean to which they provided information. It is a very strong acidic cleaner. I have called 4x times to try and speak with the General Manager in hopes of having them come out and rinse (with clean water) my couches so that I can actually use them. I am terribly dissatisfied with their services and at this point if they are unwilling to help I would like a refund so I can hire another Professional company to solve my problem.Desired Settlement: I would like a nominal refund for my inconvenience and health related reactions, in addition to another service visit where my couches are rinses with clean water

Response:

COIT cleaned carpet and upholstery for Mr [redacted] on 12/3/15..... approx. week later customer called complaining of smell..... we respondedwith a call to see about rectifying problem but was told odor is going away that it might have been an area rug. COIT responded to disparagingFacebook post on or around 12/15 from customer and had a dept. mgr go to house on 12/17 to do whatever we could to help the situation.after arriving and not noticing any odors we did offer to reclean any areas desired but customer declined.... up to that point there was never any mention ofany issue with upholstery problems only the carpet smell which was now apparently not an issue. On 1/4/16, we receive a call about upholstery cleaning causingproblems!! WE respond by sending msds sheets and now customer wants rinsing. We feel that customer is trying everything imaginable to have a refund givenwhen one is not deserved....continuing to go to this house we feel is a problem in that there is a possible other motives involved. COIT has been in operations in the Pittsburgh area for over 45 years... we have not had this continued success with out doing everything possible to make our customers happy. Any detergents or solventswe use are safe and biodegradable. Unless ingested or inhaled we never have issues with our products. We consider this matter closed and feel no other dialogue with this customer is warranted
