Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2015/08/05) */ We had been back in times and all were old AC units that were leaking through the fan unitWe have made a number of small calls to the drainsThe last visit was july th and could only find small leaks that were not flooding as the customer claims We made a call to [redacted] the same day from the rental company and were treated very rude and were TOLD they wanted a new roofWe feel that the customer has to take a look at there roof once in a while as leaks are not always from the roofingWe feel we have attended to there problems as fast as we could Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 10, 2015/08/12) */ [redacted] Re: Case # [redacted] - Coldguard Roofing & Insulation Systems Inc [redacted] Our response to Coldguard's response dated August 5/ Coldguard's response addresses leaks back in These leaks were not necessarily AC leaks as they were leaks due to mostly Coldguard's failure to seal the roof around them satisfactorilyOur AC units by contract are serviced times per year (majors and minors) But Coldguard give no recognition to the new leaks; the leaksAs we have sent to Revdex.com photographs and documentation from this spring fill now, we have reported complaint cases of leakage in so far Apr 20/- leak at [redacted] - no fixed Jun 4/- leak [redacted] - not fixed Jun 12/- roof leaks at [redacted] and [redacted] June 26/- leak at [redacted] and [redacted] again July 7/- leak into [redacted] and [redacted] shop again July 8/- after rain leak in [redacted] again - it hadn't been fixed July 17/- leaks - [redacted] again and the [redacted] again As early as May 13/Chris from Coldguard met with our rep from [redacted] and Chris re-affirmed that the top coating applyed to the roof was UV defective and that they would have to go back to the manufacturer to 'stand good' for a different (black?) product to recoat the roof (see email to Ken (Coldguard) dated May 13, which included in the documentation sent to Revdex.com)This was never followed up by Coldguard Also refer to the photographs sent to Revdex.com re: splits in the roof and signs of patching throughout the roof, no where near any AC units It seems if you won't honor your yr warrantee (copy included in package sent to Revdex.com) then use the old excuse, its not our fault, its someone elses (ie the AC's) That excuse was for 2013; what about all the leaks nowI note no specific reference to them was made in Coldguard's response Since we couldn't get Coldguard to act promptly to our requests to have the leaks fixed (Ken would respond, "well maybe I can get the crew out there in a week or so." which in most cases never happened We could not wait (the leaks were damaging the ceiling tiles and property of the lessees) I went up on the roof with a helper with tar in an attempt to stop the leaksThen I had to hire another roofing company to come out and minimally patch the leaksThe spray roofing company, which uses the same system as Coldguard [redacted] Frankly, the fact appears to be that Coldguard will not honor its warrantee and has not even responded promptly to doing temporary patching fixes I repeat, in text messages and/or Emails Coldguard Roofing have stated that they would do a permanent fixTo date, that has not happened and now in his response to Revdex.com he as the audacity to claim that they have attended to the problemsIf he had, why would I need to hire another company to patch leaks! At minimum the roof needs to be re sprayed as is provided for in the warranty statementA permanent fix is requiredContinuing to state that they have attended to the problems is not the solution I hope we won't need to get an Alberta certified roofing inspector out to inspect the roof and provide us with an expert written report on the quality (or lack of it) of workmanship by Coldguard and what needs to be done to rectify the persistent (apparently every spring) leakage All we ask is for Coldguard in good faith to honor their warranty and provide us with a roof with no future leaks [redacted] Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 18, 2015/09/01) */ [redacted] September 01, Re: Case # [redacted] - Coldguard Roofing & Insulation System C/O Ken Kneller [redacted] Response to Coldguard's (Ken K [redacted] ) most recent response dAug 25/ Ken seems to continue to use the Hvac's as the reason for the leaksThat is just not the caseAttached are photos of just some of the ruptures and cracks and bare patches showing that these are not anywhere near Hvac's nor have they anything to do with the Hvac's He says he has no records of the 'minor' calls to him re: leaksWe have sent to the Revdex.com the actual copies of the texts that our management company [redacted] sent to him most recently from June 14/to July 17/which remained not fixed by ColdguardAgain note in the photos these leaks were no where near any Hvacs Ken also states they were on the roof in Aug and fixed the only leak (over the pizza place)In fact, about weeks prior to this I had to hire another roofing company to do the bare necessities re: all the leaks that occurred and were reported to Ken in June/July and not responded to I am including a copy of the bill sent by [redacted] for some of the repair work, which by the way included the pizza place lead as it was they who repaired the leak finally later Ken's guy found no leak [redacted] Regarding his claim that [redacted] Chris had no authority to make a claim of faulty coating, it's just another unrealistic denial by Ken [redacted] He says another [redacted] company has done the leak repairs is [redacted] ! Well I'm sending him a copy of their billAnd the other roofing company confirms what [redacted] Chris had stated Ken says he would gladly do an inspection minus [redacted] That would be like the 'accused' being their own judge and jury in a court caseHow about impartiality! I propose that in order to get a satisfactory resolution to the problem between ourselves and Cold guard Roofing we need to have a neutral roofing inspector (licenced by the province) inspect the roof and provide us with a written report regarding condition of the roof along with recommendations as to what would need to be done, if he finds deficiencies and/or give it a clear report supporting Ken's claim that the roof work is not the problemBoth Ken and I would need to abide by the roof report; Ken to do the 'permanent' repairs or re-roof if so recommended and me to cease our complaints if the expert deems that the problems with the roof are not the fault of the installer (Coldguard) Secondly, Ken and I would split the cost of the inspector's fees, Thus we would work together to resolve the issue which at present appears to have resulted in a stalemate To that end, [redacted] (the [redacted] ) can provide a list (which I have a copy of and can also provide) of roofing and consulting firms licensed by the gov't to provide this serviceKeon or I can select one of them (satisfactory to both of us) [redacted] ensure impartialityThis course of action should then be fair to both sides as a means to proceed regarding a resolution to our dispute Sincerely, [redacted] Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 20, 2015/09/16) */ I am sorry I can't deal with being accused of no service after service calls [redacted] This is suppose to be professional [redacted]
