Convenience store clerk cracked my Drivers license in half because it was out of state. Owner would not aknowledge problem. Went here Saturday May 2nd 2015 around 11:15pm purchase a bottle of wine last night and the woman working there asked for me ID. When I gave her my South Carolina drivers license she kept staring at it and bending it back and forth. I said "please don't bend my ID like that your going to break it". She then told me she wouldn't accept my ID because it was "fake". She hands back my ID and it was snapped right down the middle. I immediately asked for the owner and he complete denied the fact that she broke my ID and was turning me away even though my drivers license is completely valid (im 23 years old). He clamied it was already broken and refused to pull up the incident on the cameras. I demanded some reimbursement because I know have to purchase a new drivers license and she has now made this one invalid. I continued to ask the owner to pull up the tape and he started screaming at the top of his lungs for me to get out. I fullfilled his request and left the store with my broken drivers license. This is unacceptable as they have destroyed a legal document that I absolutle need to travel and make purchases (I was traveling from South Carolina). Also the owner was on the verge of getting violent with me and had me severely shaken. Desired SettlementA reimbursiment to replace my South Carolina Drivers License which has a duplication cost of $10.00. Business Response You were not confident to sell him because he seemed to be drunk. We checked his id and gave it back and did not break it. The store does have a camera, but you don't have a recording system.Consumer Response No resolution for this issue.
