When I spoke to a representative on the phone about pricing I was told I would be given an Inventory Quote to "save you a little bit of money" and then was asked to list the items I would be movingI was immediately under the impression that I would not be charged the hourly rateWhile they did mention an hourly rate, the following was discussed: "Our hourly rate is $we only have a pre-payment of $which is close to the total cost of the move itself." In thinking that did not sound correct, I inquired multiple times as to the total cost and was given the following answers: "It depends on how muchIt's estimated at hours." "You don't have a lot of stuff though." At these moments in the phone call, if the total cost was not close to $(which it was not, the bill was a total of $626.00, I should have been informed when asking specific questions like, "Am I looking at $all together or is there going to be charges tacked on later?")In getting vague respons

Review: On August 7th I had College Hunks pick up items to be taken to [redacted] for donation. I chose them since they were the company sanctioned by [redacted] to so their bulk pick ups. They came a day after the original pickup date due to a miscommunication between corporate in Florida and the Maryland office, giving me a $40 discount. The estimate was given for about $350 and I approved their pick up. the final bill was $444 since they underestimated the amount of space my items would take in their truck. The donation including exercise equipment, and antique sewing machine in the cabinet and over 20 boxes of books were to be taken to [redacted] and a receipt was to be sent to me.

During the week of August 25th I called the local provider to inquire about the receipt and was told that it would be sent at the end of the month. At this time I have yet to get the receipt for my donation.

I have called the national number three times. On October 9th I was told a supervisor was not available and I would get a return call; no call was received. On October 11th I called back and talked to a floor supervisor for the call center who said that the company replies within 3 business days, but he would make sure that they followed up to get me my documents from [redacted]. He also gave me the local contractor's name and numbers. They are [redacted] at ###-###-#### and [redacted] at ###-###-####. I have tried to call them multiple times and left a message only one time, because their phones were not available any of the other times I called. I have also not heard back from them. I tried to call corporate again on October 17th and talked to the same supervisor who seemed surprised that I had not yet heard back from anyone. He said that I should hear from someone by Monday. Today I again got no communication from anyone. It has been very difficult dealing with a national company that has been trying to put blame on local contractors when those contractors are not available to be contacted.Desired Settlement: I want to get my receipt for delivery of my donation to [redacted]. If the items were not taken to [redacted], I would like an explanation why and a refund of my hauling cost that would offset the cost of the items that were supposed to be donated for a tax deduction. An explanation and apology would also be appreciated.

Review: On February 6, 2013 I contracted with College Hunks for the removal of furniture and exercise equipment only. Somehow all of my grandsons athletic shoes--about 10-15 pair came up missing. My grandson has most of his belongings at my house, but stays most of the time with his girlfriend. When he asked me what happened to his shoes, the only people that I know was in that basement were the College Hunks removal guys. NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THAT BASEMENT. The guys ([redacted], and [redacted] seemed like nice people. I even gave them a good review (before the fact). I called College Hunks at least 4 times to report this. Three of those times were met with not one return call. Finally on 2/22/13 a man called (don't remember name) and basically said "I don't know what to tell you." I was not pleased with that answer. Some type of investigation or interrogative result should happen. Even in this dog eat dog world sometimes one might feel a pain of conscience when questioned. I know--this is very seldom, but there are a few of us left.Desired Settlement: To remedy this situation would be for College Hunks to return one-half of the cost of the removal expense. Even this amount wouldn't nearly satisfy the cost of what my grandson spent on those expensive shoes. But since this was done on my watch, I'll reluctantly make up the loss. College Hunks charged my $509. I feel the return of $250 would be a fair settlement.
