I was originally quoted $638.00 for the movers. However, the final bill was $4,613.34 which included $1290 to remove trash! They obviously underestimated to get the job. It was very late at night when I was told the cost of junk removal and the moving truck was loaded! I accuse them of purposely underestimating and taking advantage of an older woman. Originally, the movers were to finish in one day but it took two days!

We provided an estimate for the client on September 12th which stated we were only moving these items, and this was the breakdown for the day. The quote for this was 4.5 hours to move these specific items and follow the breakdown...

Just moving these pieces of furniture and boxing the glass shelving. Load accordingly.
- Drop Canopy Bed Dresser and Nightstand and the Dining set with the Rug at ***.
- Moving the armoire and kitchen table to her apartment at Friendship Village and re arranging a few pieces.
- Ending at the dump
When providing this estimate, there was a realtor with the client, and they stated not to worry about the other items there because they will take care of the rest.
We booked the job for the client on September 27. The day of the move, the hunks did everything that was quoted which took 4.75 hours and some removal on top of that which price was mentioned to client before removing.
Once hunks completed what was estimated, client wanted hunks to keep working and move more items which was not included in the estimate and was supposed to be taken care of already. Due to it getting late, hunks could not do more work for the client that same day, so we scheduled another job for her 2 days later, on September 29th to get the rest of what the client wanted us to move and remove.
On the 29th, the hunks went over the hourly rate again and the removal cost per truckload. Client still wanted hunks to move and remove whatever they could that day. Hunks did a walk through the condo to see what all went and let client know of the packing supplies they would need to use and the cost of them before packing the items.
Hunks loaded what they could and dropped off the items to a resale store. Once getting there, the hunks started unloading the items and client went through the items while hunks were unloading so client could see if it should be donated or go to the apartment. After unloading we had to put the items back on the truck and we took the rest of the items to the client's apartment.
Once at the apartment, hunks had to rearrange the furniture in the apartment to make sure the items coming off the truck would fit in the apartment. Hunks then unloaded the items from the truck.
After the apartment, hunks had to go back to the condo and get more items. They took more items to resale store and to the apartment. Hunks had to take multiple trips to the 3 different locations.
After moving all the items, hunks were back at the condo and the time was 8pm. The hunks then took all the items that couldn't be donated and loaded everything that needed to be removed from the condo. After loading the removal items, hunks were finally done with everything the customer wanted them to do.
The community the client was moving into has a coordinator that handles every move in or out of the building. They are one of the largest in the area. Not only are we the preferred movers for them, but we are also the only movers for the next largest in the area because of how well we take care of their residence and all their needs.
