College Park Collision Center Reviews (1)

Review: My vehicle was involved in an auto accident on 10/15/2013. There was front end damage, and the curtain-side airbags deployed. When the airbags deployed this cause the head liner to rip open. I received a quote from my insurance company for the damage, and wanted to take my car to a [redacted] Dealership collision center. I had my car towed to The [redacted] Collision Center in [redacted] MD. There were more damages found, and the insurance company was contacted. With the extra damages, the insurance company wrote checks to the shop. The problem is that my card had been finished for a few weeks but I was not allowed to have my vehicle back until the insurance company paid the remaining balance. 2 months later when I picked up my vehicle initially the work looked great. Upon close inspection, someone when repairing the passengers side door cracked the inside of the door and left gashes in the door as if they were trying to pry it open. I look up and I have two passenger side visors, not a drivers side visor and a passenger side visor. The mirror was not replaced after it had been hit, they painted over it. There were dents still left in the door from where the passenger side mirror was knocked in. The "manager" named "[redacted]" was very rude and acted like his technicians could do no wrong that my car just magically had two left side visors that the crack and gashes on the interior of the door were like that. The car was in great shape, it has only one rider, and is taken very well care of. He told me that they were not going to fix the problems that were created by the shop/technicians. My insurance company would have to pay, why they would pay when its the shops mistake. There has been to many back and forth and lying about repairs that this shop needs to take responsibility for.Desired Settlement: I would like to finally speak with a shop owner or someone who oversees the manager. The manager at this shop does not know a thing about customer service, and is very disrespectful to his customers.

Response:

Dear **. [redacted]

The customers’ car was delivered to our shop on 10/24/13. We opened a ticket and started repairs on 10/24/13. **. [redacted]’s total repair took 27 days to complete with 2 supplements to be paid to College Park Collision. The car was ready on 11/20/13, only waiting on final payment.. Our company policy is full payment on delivery.

The customer picked up her car on 12/1/13. On “that” day the customer picked up her car and left the shop. 'The customer brought her car back to the shop for some issues with the left sun visor and a crack in the right front, trim panel. [redacted], the manager, looked at both issues and explained to the customer that on the right front trim panel, the crack was from a prior repair. Someone had fixed a window issue in the past and there was tape holding the wires up inside the door. So College Park did not cause the problem with the trim panel. On the sun visor problem, [redacted] agreed to replace the left sun visor as a courtesy, after going back and forth with the customer. There also was an issue with the right front door belt molding, where the mirror seemed to have hit the molding and put a small dent in it. [redacted] called the insurance adjustor and he denied the molding to be replaced. [redacted] explained that to the customer and told the customer to call the insurance company to look at the car again. The insurance companies are responsible for authorizing any work we do on their customers’ cars. I am sending all documents in reference to the repair on [redacted]’s car. I am not sure what we could have done differently.

Sincerely
