We started *** *** service on Friday April 15th. After the 1st cut, *** called to skip the following week. Then after our crew cut here lawn for the 2nd time on Friday 4/29/16, *** called to request that we have our lawn maintenance crew lower the blades when cutting her
grassWe told her that we would be able to accommodate that request but advised *** not to skip any more weeks until things start to dry out and the grass starts to slow down. We told *** that cutting the grass shorter during this wet time when the grass is going fast, runs the risk of the clippings being visible on the lawn, with possible clumps. *** said she was fine with that so we made the appropriate notes on her account so the crew would know what to do the next time they cut her grass.*** then called the office on Tuesday 5/3/to request that the guys skip her lawn that weekWe told *** that we did not recommend skipping this cut because she just called to ask us to cut her grass shorter and with all the rain we have been getting, the grass would be extremely high the next time we came out to cut here grass and it would not look good at all, especially with her wanting us to cut her grass shorter*** chose to go along with the skip so we did not cut her grass on Friday 5/6/Throughout the week of 5/8/16, we received a great deal of rain and the grass was growing much quicker than because of thatWhen the guys arrived at ***’s house on Friday 5/13/16, the grass was quite high due to the rain and skipping the week beforeThe crew followed ***s request to have the grass cut shorter. Since the grass was so high, the mowers had a difficult time cutting the grass and did not leave the grass looking very even and obviously left a lot of clippings throughout the yard.*** called Friday afternoon to inform us that she was not happy with the cut and that she would like someone to come back out to clean up here lawn. We told *** we would be more than happy to send a crew back to her house but we would have to charge her for another cut since she skipped the previous week when we advised her not to because the grass was growing so fast with all the rain. *** did not want to pay extra to have the crew come back to re cut her lawn. I informed *** that we could arrange to have the crew start bagging her grass the following week for an additional charge to clean everything up, but she would not be able to skip any weeks until things started to dry out and the grass started to slow down during the spring growth period. We asked *** not to skip anymore weeks until we could get her lawn back under control. *** was not happy and cancelled service.We feel as though we did everything we could have to prevent this situation

Per our previous statement, we did inform [redacted] on two different occasions what could happen to her lawn before performing the service. The first was on Friday 4/29/16 when [redacted] called to skip during early spring when the grass was growing fast because of all the rain and the second was on Tuesday 5/3/16 when [redacted] requested her grass to be cut shorter after she skipped a week.  If [redacted] would have took our advise and not skipped, just like all our other customers, we would not be in the situation we are in now, but for some reason, [redacted] did not want to take our advise. Our customers are not under contract so we can't force a customer to do something they do not want.  All we were doing was following her instructions, even though we advised against it. We feel we did everything we could have done to inform [redacted] of what would happen if she skipped a week of service during the early wet spring season we were having. Tell us why here...

I am rejecting this response because: a professional landscaping company should be aware of how to discuss and recommend to their client an accommodation in the service based on the weather, grass length, or season. College student landscaping failed to make a professional judgment call regarding the maintenance of the grass. This company should have called to discuss the management of the grass prior to cutting the grass. This company was only interested in cutting the grass without diagnosing the problem. This company is not interested in the health of the lawn but it appears that this company is interested in cutting grass and moving on. I believe this company should not charge me for the last grass cut because of the poor outcome.
