College Works Painting Ohio Reviews (12)

I just wanted to inform you that my complaint against College Works Painting Ohio has been amicably resolved Thank you for all of your help[redacted]

We have not closed the case We were sent a settlement agreement that we had reviewed for legal advice and have decided not to accept itI have responded back to Ben K [redacted] and am waiting on a response [redacted] ***

Update as of 4/20/2015Firstly, apologies for the delayed response I wanted to update after I had spoken with the customer regarding the most recent entry on this complaint We were playing phone tag over the last 10-days, but were able to speak today to reach an agreed settlement.Firstly, I do want to take responsibility for the poor workmanship on this deck We take pride in the work we do and while rare, any customer that does not feel their expectations were exceeded is unacceptable This job was not completed to our standards and rightfully so, it is our responsibility to make it right with the customer. We had reached an agreement about a month ago, however, upon reviewing our standard settlement paperwork the customer pointed out she did not feel comfortable with the non-disparagement clause that it contained (This is the verbage she was referring to that "asked to not share our experience.")While this is standard for most settlement agreements, we have agreed to amend the writing to allow for this should friends, family, neighbors, ecthave any questions about the work they had done While $was the amount originally asked for by the customers, we have decided to refund $because of the length of time it took to reach an agreement, the delay in getting the color code in the fall, and the general headaches and frustration that inevitably were caused.Im pleased to have resolved this, and again on behalf of CWP I do want to extend my apologies and take responsibility for the situation Should we have another opportunity to work with this customer or any others in the area I am confident the standard of quality that we uphold will be met- exceeding expectations.Regards,Ben K***###-###-#### [redacted]

been addressedOur rep also painted some areas that were not on the contract at no additional cost because of the time delayAt this time we are not able to approve your refund requestIf you would like to discus this further please feel free to contact our corporate office at ###-###-####. To whom it may concern,This customer contacted our office on 11/18/regarding the complaint mentioned above. The following email was sent to our customer care department:"Hello Cindy - I am writing as a follow up to my original email belowI had a few conversations with Joe and
he offered us $for us to finish the project ourselvesUnfortunately, we are not going to be able to complete it because we cannot match the paintWe ended up having a semi-custom paint color as they tinted the original color darker when we didn't like the original colorKyle took the last of the paint with him that had the formula on the can to match if we needed more*** *** has offered to help us match the paint, but we have nothing to use to match it since the only thing painted is our trimThere is no way to take a sample to them to matchI am not going to pay for numerous samples since the color cards aren't a matchThe entire process with College Works has been negativeWe felt pressured to make a decision when Kyle approached us about the projectHe and his crew did a TERRIBLE job with paint everywhere when they leftThe only thing he did that was acceptable was repainting the trim when we didn't like the color, but we paid him $cash outside of the contract to do itWhen he came back to touch up, I sat and had a conversation with him and showed him pictures of what he left and all the work I had to do to clean it up the deck so it looked nice for a party we were havingHe was apologetic and got his crew to clean up, but there were still areas where they completely missed the paint on the trimPlease know that I will never use College Works Painting and will share my experience with every person I canI plan to file a complaint with the Revdex.com so that my experience is documented for others to see when they research your companyI paid all but $of the contract with the promise from Kyle he would be back to finish before he left for schoolThat clearly didn't happenAnd the $Joe offered does nothing since we can't match the paintWe will have to incur the expense to have someone else come and paint again in the spring which is not something we had planned for in our budgetPlease forward this email to Joe and Kyle as I do not have their email addresses*** ***" I contacted and spoke with the customer that same day. As mentioned in the email, the customer was frustrated she was unable to get a match for the paint color that had been applied to the home. Per our phone conversation, that was the biggest priority and the thing that was the most frustrating at that time. The customer made it very clear that the main problem was that work they had previously agreed to do themselves could not be completed because they were missing the paint color, and that was main thing she wanted to resolve. I left my direct contact info with the customer, and told the customer I would do what I could to find the color and get her the information in a timely manner. I was able to work through *** *** rep to pull their records and find the specific formula that was originally used on their home a few hours after our conversation. I emailed the paint color formula to the customer that same day and also left a voicemail letting them know that I had done so, and to feel free to reach out to me if they had any other questions. I have not received any direct calls or emails since and have been under the impression the customer was able to successfully match the color and resolve the problem. I will contact the customer to discuss the matter further as well as any reimbursement owed to the customer. It is my intention to ensure the customer receives any reimbursement that was agreed to previously for the work they were going to do themselves assuming they had the correct paint color, as well as other costs associated with the inconvenience of trying to match the paint, ect.Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: I'm not quite rejecting their
response as much as reporting to the Revdex.com what has transpired I returned Mr*** ***'s call today at 3:PM I received a voice mail message which stated that he was out of the country until 12/29/which is ten days after the Revdex.com sent me notification of their communication from College Works I will let you know when Mr*** returns my call I just wanted to let you know that the problem has not been remedied and that this case should not be closedThank you
Regards,

We are still working with College Works to resolve the complaintWhile they have offered money, they are asking us to not share our experience and we cannot agree to thatThe work quality is terrible The entire deck is peeling paint and they are not acknowledging that the work quality is poor and they never finished a job we paid to be finished At this pointIt's not about the money It's about them acknowledging they failed to finish a job we paid for and the quality of their work is terribleI think everyone should know not to use them and I'm not willing to not be able to share my experience *** ***

I finally heard from *** *** from College Works He requested that I get a price for washing the windows, painting the south side of my home and attaching the downspout anchors I have gotten a quote for the washing of the windows but have had a difficult time finding someone to quote the cost of re-painting the house and anchoring the downspouts because of the inclement weather in my area I will continue to try to get a quote for the downspout anchors and the painting and I am keeping track of all time that is spent doing so When I acquire the quotes, Mr*** requests that I send him an e-mail with the quotes attached and he will give me a call back at that time to discuss payment I will keep you informed

As of 12/19/2014 client has been contacted and voicemail left to completely settle the issue.  Intention is to pay client cost of remaining work and damages.  Will update when contact is made with customer.Thank you.
