Great service
Great service there's nothing more to add

Revdex.com spoke with the business. Once again the issue with the holds and disconnected calls was a phone issues and [redacted] from the business does apologize for that issue. the call was a police tow call and the price charges is in accordance to that. the customer's tires are larger than the spare that he had in his car, but he did not want to towed to the tire store because they did not have the correct size and model and would have to order it for this customer. The customer then waited the spare on the car and the business did as the were told once it was clear that even though this was a call to be towed the customer did not want that.

Revdex.com spoke with the business. The business can refund the $30 the way it was paid to the business. The customer would need to come by with the receipt and the card used in the transaction to credit back to the account the offered $30.00. Glenda is the owner and would be the one Mr. Kim would need to speak to to get this taken care of.

[redacted] said that as long as the pass is properly placed int he view of the drivers she will not be towed from that complex.

The business would be willing to refund the customer 60% of the labor fee of $50.00 which is $30.00.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Thanks for reaching out again and relaying their response to me.  However as I have already relocated to Northern Virginia area which is more than 100 miles away from Charlottesville and I am really uncomfortable contacting them in person ever, I cannot accept the resolution they offered.  Instead I prefer them writing me a check of $30 to my address.

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] from the business. She states that the 125 is a flat rotation charge done and they are 1 of 15 stations in that rotation. She does apologize for the issues with the phone, there were a lot of people in the shop at that time and cell phones do not always get the best service....

The issue with the tire is that the spare the customer had was a different size than the 3 other tires.

[redacted] called from the business and said that she is more than willing to look into this matter to determine the details of this incident. However, in order to do this she needs to see a copy of the tow ticket to determine the details of why this was towed.

I spoke with the business she states that she spoke with the customer after this incident took place. One vehicle was fully attached and the other was in the process of being attached to the truck....

It was at this time the customer came out and had an issue with the cars being towed. While the complaint said they did not know they were parking in resident only parking, the customer’s daughter has a signed lease with this property and would know where the parking is for guests.
This business reviews this lots because there have been so many complaints from residents attempting to park close to their home and been unable to because non stickered vehicles are parking where they shouldn’t.
This property is also out of the city limits so the business could have charged whatever price she wanted to as there are no set prices as there are in the city. However, the business did not do that and was consistent with the prices set by the city. It is $125 for a towed or completely attached car and 50 for a drop, which is how the second vehicle was when the customer came out to the situation. The customer was charged 125 and 50.

Review: This company stopped by late on a week night and towed my car for absolutely no reason at all. The parking tag was easily visible and I was parked in an appropriate spot. I got up, got ready for work, went out and discovered my car was missing. Since I had my parking tag, I called the police believing it was stolen. I had an eight o'clock presentation at my professional job and was late because of this inappropriate action taken on me. Something is wrong with this business as they stop by and just tow just to make someone go through an unnecessary action to retrieve their vehicle. I pay rent to live at the complex and have the parking that is necessary to live here as they do not have a garage. This action against me is unacceptable and I want something done immediately. They broke in my car cut my ac up to high and put my car's emergency break on. To me they invaded my personal property and broke in my car.Desired Settlement: I want them to assure me that my car will not be touched during the remainder of my lease. I believe this matter to be extremely urgent.

There was no warning, no paper work at all. Someone from the company stopped by and towed my car with no reason at all. The parking tag is bright red and was appropriately displayed. All other information was already noted in the complaint so I feel that perhaps, someone did not read the complaint. This whole thing was an invasion of personal property as far as I'm concerned. I would like to know that I will not be towed again while I am under contract during the duration of my lease at [redacted].

Review: Today, the tire on my car exploded while I was driving. I called the police and the officer called the Collier's Towing for assistance.

The employee from the towing company pulled out my car from the road to a safe location.

Instead of towing the vehicle back to my place, we agreed to have the spare tire be installed.

It was because the tire service centers in the town had to order to the tire that fits my car and I needed the car.

And he performed, with my assistance. Then he charged. Not according to any set price, he was like, "we usually charge 45-55 for the tire..... and whenever police calls us, we charge a flat rate of 125... well let's say 175 for total."

He suggested that if I pay in cash, he will get me discounts and I won't get the receipt. I think that is not the correct way to do the business. But that's a side issue that you guys should be aware of.

Anyway, the installation was inadequate/improper and indeed failed.

While I was driving back to my town (well below the speed limit with hazard lights on), the car started to shake and made loud rumbling noise, and the people on the road screamed at me that the tire was falling out.

It almost killed me. Having a tire exploded while the rim was still attached to the car is much much safer than when a spare tire falls off and the entire rim gets detached. I was shocked and distressed.

I pulled my car over to the side, and called Collier's Towing to report the issue.

Instead of listening to my complaint, the employee pretended she could not hear me and left me waiting for more than 10 minutes. Then she hung up on me.

That happened a few times. I called again and again, and she consistently said that she was on other calls and just waited for me to hang up and call again.

If I didn't hang up and wait for her response, then she hung up.

I complained to her not to hang up on me, and she said she does not care. I was shocked and confused.

I told her that your service failed. She said so what, I cannot do anything about it -- Bye.

Yes, she said bye and hung up on me. Then she did not even pick up the call again.

I am seriously distressed by the whole incident.

The towing service center, who I should rely on for this routine task of installing a spare tire, did the service on the tire.

And as you know, it is very important for safety. Then it failed. IT FAILED. I even took photos how it fell off.

However, the company does not even respond, nor say even sorry for the improper service. Instead, they hung up on me and charged my credit card.Desired Settlement: Apologize and fully refund for the service.

First of all, I appreciate that you communicated with Collier's Towing Service on behalf of me. However, I am not satisfied with their response.

I am not here to hear their after thought excuses. I wanted to hear their sincere apology and refund for the service that they do not deserve.

As discussed below, their excuses do not justify their misbehavior.

(1) Not only did they fail to install the spare tire properly, they also blatantly ignored when I called them to explain what had happened and asked for help. They mocked me.

(2) It is upsetting to hear their excuses in regards to the improper installation of the tire. It was them who installed the spare tire.

Talking about differing sizes in the tires at this point does not make sense. Had they thought that the spare tire would fall apart while I am driving back, they should have warned me, refused to install, and advised me to tow the car instead. Instead, they gladly took the task, and they failed. Are they saying, instead of they were being negligent, they were reckless and disregarded the risks that I had to assume?

(3) While distressed upon discovering the spare tire that Collier's Towing Service installed was falling apart, and their lack of responsibilities in their mistake,

I had to do everything by myself again. I had to lift up the car and tightened bolts and nuts, the labor I paid to them. Why do they get to keep the money?

I am truly disappointed by their response and their insist on making excuses.

I cannot believe that they are making these excuses now when they were happy to install a spare tire and did not mention anything about the tire sizes being different. Furthermore even though the spare tire was different in size, it was only one inch smaller for the rim while the total size of the wheel was still the same as the stock. That difference does not cause the tire to start fall apart in the middle of driving after 15mins of driving at less than 50mph.

I want to be very clear here about this. They never asked me or warned me when I asked do you guys install spare tire instead of towing. They just said yes we do. Here we can do it here. And the employee did the service. During the service, the employee had some trouble tightening the bolts. I asked him whether he think the tire would be safe to drive. He answered affirmatively unless I drive to PA and he assured me that he did enough to have me the car drive around the town safely.

Well, I could not even get back to home.

In my honest opinion, they should stop this tire size difference nonsense. It only shows that they were either aware of the possible problem at the time they were giving the service and nonetheless assured me it would be safe to drive knowing that I would rely on their statement and pay for the service; or did not notice at the time and now making these excuses which do not change the fact that their service was inadequate.

Lastly, she is keep blaming her poor and inappropriate feedback on other factors. Too many customers at the time in our previous discussion and now that our phone connection was poor. NOPE. We had multiple moments where we clearly understood each other and she deliberately ignored my call when I said I can record the conversation. She said she does not care. Go ahead. Goodbye. Wish I was in other countries where the phone recording was much easier. She should admit that she had bad temper and acted outrageously to a customer in distress and apologize for that. Not about too crowded place nor the bad phone connection.

While [redacted] or [redacted] is not a dispositive fact about a company's reputation, you can see that they get 1star out of five. That tells something....

Thanks for doing this for me. I appreciate it.

Regards,

Dear [redacted],

Review: While visiting my daughter at her apartment at [redacted] my wife heard some noise outside and investigated. It turns out there was a tow truck attempting to back up to my wife's vehicle. The vehicle was not yet 'hooked up' - my wife implored them to stop. At this time she had no knowledge the car was parked illegally, there were no signs anywhere near the area she had park saying it was for residents only (only sign is at the entrance of the complex 1/4 mile away - never noticed it before). At this time I noticed another tow truck positioning to pick up my vehicle. At this point I was extremely upset seeing some $30k of my property being taken withou me knowing why. I told both tow truck operaters to stop. They refused. In fact, the smaller of the two told me " I could charge you $25, but since you are being an [redacted]e its going to cost you $125", he repeated this phrase 2x - my daughter was a witness. I said what do I have to do? Response: Go to the lot and pay the money - I had no choice but give him my Credit card and pay the $125 EACH for the towing of both vehicles that never were moved an inch. While I was arguing with the other tow driver the original tow driver proceeded to hook up the [redacted] with my wife standing right there saying she would move the car. Which of course allowed them to hold my vehicle hostage. I can't believe these clowns are allowed to operate in this manner legally. The 2nd driver [redacted] I felt was attempting to provoke a physical response from me ( he nearly got one). The first driver ** I found out later was charged with assault against another man while performing his duties on behalf of Colliers Towing at the [redacted] in [redacted]. The drivers name is [redacted] - a quick google search will find this too be true. This is a good example of the type of business this is and the total disregard they have for the general public. So many other stories can be found regarding this company it is astonishing they are allowed to stay in business. They changed the charge from $125 to $50 for the E[redacted], but the full charge of $125 was made for the [redacted]. There is in place a [redacted] Towing Advisory Board, which sets reasonable limits for drop fee, towing fees and drop fees. This board was formed in response to the predatory practices of the towing companies in [redacted] and it seems Colliers is the biggest offender. The bylaws state for any violation of the terms the owner will be liable for $0. They violated several of the bylaws - unfortuntely the towing address was outside of the city limits - however the business address (Colliers) is within the city limits.Desired Settlement: I should never have been charged the full fee for either vehicle - after speaking again with the owner saying she had dropped the[redacted] fee to $50 I made it clear I was not satisfied with the amount being charged for the [redacted] and the behavior of their drivers. She stated, "Well, that's the way it is". Before this I would have accepted a reasonable fee being charged for a drop fee on the [redacted] - although my family states the [redacted] was not hooked up prior to me asking them to stop - however, since they behaved the way they did I can accept nothing less then a full refund at this time.

This property is also out of the city limits so the business could have charged whatever price she wanted to as there are no set prices as there are in the city.
