I contracted with [redacted] for $1000.00 to replace a partial roof. He took a $500.00 deposit and never finished the job. I contracted [redacted] for $1000.00 to replace a partial roof. He took a $500.00 deposit, cashed the check and never finished the job. After giving multiple excuses for not coming on our contracted date [redacted] showed up one morning and worked for less then 2 hrs removing one area of shingles from our roof. Then he said it was too hot. He left his extension ladder leaning up on the house and a hatchet stuck in the roof. I questioned him about when he would return and told me he would send a crew out to finish the job later that day.I also told him it was to rain that night and he told me oh no it was not going to rain and the roof would be fine.No crew ever came. Well it did rain and water entered the upper leave of the house. upon phoning he several times he gave multiple excuses why he wasn't coming out to finish the job.After over a week we were forced to get another contractor to do the job. They came out within hrs and sealed the exposed roof as we were expecting another day of rain. 2 days latter they finished the job. we again contacted [redacted] to get our money back and return to him his ladder and hatchet. He says he no longer has the money. We told him he can have his ladder and tools when our money is returned.Desired SettlementWe want to have our $500.00 returned since the job has already been finished. I have cell phone text messages that totally dispute the response that we ran off this contractor. He began the work and then decided to hire others to do the work and the job was never completed. We contacted him many times to come back and complete the job he did not. The assault on my character is wrong and should be removed from the Revdex.com records though they will not respond to my calls. The problem is this contractor did not do the job they were contracted to do and will not return my monies. I have pictures to show what they did do and it is not valued at $500.00. The job has since been completed by another reputable company.
