Re: Complaint ID ***
I am requesting that MrR*** fix, at his expense, the bathroom floor that he installed incorrectly at my propertyThe workmanship is not up to the caliber that one would expect from a professional contractorThe platform he built under the toilet caused severe foot injury on me that my podiatrist is still treating
To further add to my grievances, the concrete slab facing the pool on my property had been acid washed a bright ochre yellow making it costly to reverse the finish, if at all possibleThe radiator covers were painted a garish redPictures still hung on the wall after he moved outPiles of various belongings remainedMy kitchen chairs, kitchen utensils, toaster, etchad been thrown into the open air shed and ruinedNot to mention my kitchen chairs had been replacedI am still missing an heirloom antique mirror that hung in the house during his occupancy
I paid MrR*** well for the work he did on my house; often work I did not even requestI feel that my generosity subsidized his rent and that he looked for projects each month to underwrite his rent (see schedule below of what I paid him for extra work each month) And his rent was already under the market price
Check # Date Amtpaid to R***
1263 3/5/14 $3,
1271 4/3/14 $2,700

Total = $10,715
Yes, I am an year old woman who had a strokeMy mind has recovered fully and I continue to work full time and manage and acquire many propertiesHowever, I think it is shameful that MrR***, tried to take advantage of me by overcharging each month for work on my house that I often considered unnecessary
I suspect he may have used my property for VRBO or Airbnb as evidence suggests (i.emy electronic swimming pool cover was broken last December)All of this I will turn a blind eye to if he would just honor my request by returning the mirror and fixing the bathroom floor that MrR*** installed incorrectly
Sincerely,
*** ***

To Whom IT May Concern,
I am glad that *** *** is now fully recoveredI can only say that when we were renting from her andworking on her property she would tell us one week to do some work, the next week she didn't want itdone or wanted us to wait until she had things under control on some other properties that she hadtrouble with the clients onThe next time we spoke with her she insisted that she had told us toproceed with the previous projectOn projects we did do at her request she asked us to wait onpayment forA good part of what we did was maintain her property with our own equipment and forless than she had told me she had been paying previously
There were no kitchen chairs in the house, perhaps they were out in the shedI didn't go through thosethingsI did put her toaster and microwave out there, neither one of which would cook the foodIdidn't put any utensils out thereI did purchase period chairs that matched her kitchen table and leftthem there as an measure of good willWe did not paint any radiator coversThere is a forced air heatsystem, I am not sure what she is referring toThe patio was covered with mildew and microbesIt wasvery spottedOn one end there was moss more than two inches thick imbedding into the concrete andundermining itI did clean and remove all of this and then put a new concrete stain that matched asclosely as I could find to what had previously been put on there
When I moved out I did forget a few of my paintings and family photosObviously I would not purposelyleave theseWhen I came back to pick them up *** had piled some throw pillows and things that musthave been left by a previous tenantI went ahead and took these and delivered them to the SalvationArmy drop offThe house was left spotlessI have photos to demonstrate this*** insists that therewas an antique mirror in that houseIt was never thereI can show photos of all the rooms while wewere thereThere was no mirror.I have five children and spouses, as well as grandchildrenThat is why I rented a bedroom home.They were there to visit for the holidays and we used all of the facilitiesThe pool cover opened at onespeed and was poorly set upIf you didn't stop at a certain point it came off the trackWhich is whathappened when everyone was thereIt is product of use
As to the rent*** tried to tell me at one time that she had discounted the rent from what she hadadvertised forHowever, I had kept her advertisement and showed her she was confusing me withanother tenantIt was a competitive rent and several homes were advertised for a similar amount atthe time
