[redacted] recently filed a complaint with the Revdex.com (“Revdex.com”) against Collins College. On being notified of this complaint by the Revdex.com, Collins College began an immediate internal review of Ms. [redacted] allegations. We also contacted Ms. [redacted] and discussed this matter with her. Pursuant to the findings of our review, Collins College acknowledges Ms. [redacted]’s concerns and has worked diligently with her to accommodate her request.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and agree that the issue has been resolved. I thank Collins College for their fast response to the complaint.

Regards,

Review: I was promised by the campus and faculty that the college was accredited and that the classes I took would transfer if I kept the same major/program. Since the teach out began I felt uneasy about putting money or trust in such a questionable business with rumors of business practices surfacing.

Collins College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award Associate degrees and Bachelors degrees. Collins College is licensed by The Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education.

And this is from the ACICS website, (the accreditation board that gives Collins College its accreditation):

Founded in 1912, ACICS is the largest national accrediting organization of degree-granting institutions. We accredit professional, technical and occupational programs, and are one of two national accreditors recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation with a scope that includes private postsecondary institutions offering certificates, diplomas and degrees from the Associates through the Masters.

Yet no college in this state or any surrounding state will accept transfer for the exact same major/program.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for one and a half years of tuition of government loans, pell grants, and the money that I paid out of pocket. And to be compensated for the time I spent at your institution.

Mr. [redacted] recently filed a complaint with the Revdex.com (“Revdex.com”) against Collins College. On being notified of this complaint by the Revdex.com, Collins College began an immediate internal review of Mr. [redacted]’s allegations.

Mr. [redacted] asserts that he was led to believe that the education he received was transferable and accredited. It is difficult to address this without knowing the specific agencies or employers that have denied his credits. Other schools do and continue to accept credits from Collins College. The decision to accept transfer credits is always up to the accepting college. Mr. [redacted] signed an attestation at the time of enrollment that clearly states, “The transferability of credits you earn at the School is at the complete discretion of an institution to which you may seek to transfer. Acceptance of the credential you earn is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer.” Mr. [redacted] understood the credit transfer policy and understood that Collins College does not guarantee that other schools will accept transfer of credit. He was also informed at that time that the school was accredited, and continues to be accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent College and Schools (ACICS). Mr. [redacted] did not complete his program of study; therefore, he is not considered a graduate.

Pursuant to Mr. [redacted] Revdex.com complaint, Collins College has taken the opportunity to formally address the allegations that Ms. [redacted] made in his Revdex.com complaint.

In the first response to the Revdex.com we iterated that the decision to accept transfer credits is always up to the accepting college. Mr. [redacted] signed attestation at the time of enrollment that clearly states “The transferability of credits you earn at the School is at the complete discretion of an institution to which you may seek to transfer. Acceptance of the credential you earn is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer.” Mr. [redacted] understood the credit transfer policy and understood that Collins College does not guarantee that other schools will accept transfer of credit.

Mr. [redacted] alleges that he was mistreated by the campus. Our records do not indicate that Mr. [redacted] approached Collins College with any issues during his time at Collins College. In addition to the formal grievance policy our students have multiple options to raise concerns with our faculty or administrators at any time and we take student satisfaction very seriously.

The statement found in Mr. [redacted] “Desired Settlement” section of her Revdex.com complaint is just not true. Mr. [redacted] signed an attestation that informed him that acceptance of transfer credit is at the discretion of the receiving university. Collins College has no evidence or documentation to support his allegation that he was mistreated. Collins College will continue to assist Mr. [redacted] as he needs assistance. If you should need anything else regarding this matter please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate Collins College staff member. Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I am unpleased with the whole situation and am glad they have decided to close the college.
