Collins, Inc. of Johnston County Reviews (2)

We called A & L Garage Door due to a busted spring on our garage door. We were concerned about snow coming the next day and they were excellent about squeezing us in for same day service. They even showed up early, and the job was done within an hour. Great customer service!

They failed to send me the full amount of sales proceeds to which we had agreed.I put my boat consignment with Collins, Inc of Smithfield NC to sell it. My salesman [redacted] called me days later, said he had an offer for $7000. I agreed to the price less a 10% sales commission and he said he would mail me a check for $6300. It took several weeks for them to mail me the check and when it finally arrived it was for $6100.68. When I called to complain [redacted] told me that they had to do repairs on the boat and it was not their practice to seek my approval for the repairs. When I asked what repair work had been done he could not tell me. The story speaks for itself. They failed to send me the agreed amount, and if they did any repairs, it was without my permission nor any agreement to a price reduction.Desired SettlementSend me a check for $199.32.Business Response We did have a contract to sell Mr. [redacted] boat on consignment and upon dropping the boat off we were informed that everything on the boat was in working order. In a short period of time we got an offer on his boat and passed it along for approval, the offer was under the assumption that everything was working. Once in the shop for the pre-delivery inspection we found that the battery was dead and there was a tail light malfunctioning. To assure that we did not loose the sale we corrected those issues and proceeded with the transaction. The two items that he was charged for was a battery, tail light and the labor to install each. We have a work order that is readily available and feel we did everything possible to make this transaction go as smoothly and professionally as possible. Consumer Response Actually, they were informed that the pressure gauge and trailer brakes were not working. I have no means to verify the battery and tail light issues at this point. A simple phone call to advise me of these repairs would have seemed to be appropriate along with a more positive response when I called to ask why the proceeds had been reduced. You may close this case.
