Dear Revdex.com, 6-25-201Mr. [redacted] dropped off his boat with us Mid March of 2015 for various tasks he wanted done to a boat he had just purchased. We did an initial assessment and made note of many issues with the boat and engine. After speaking to Mr....

[redacted] about what was found he ok'd us to work on the boat and proceed forward. One of the items noted was the exhaust manifold had previously been repaired with silicone from an apparent freeze damage crack. While we had all running it was not leaking and I informed customer to keep an eye on it and that it may need to be replaced. We completed all work and customer picked up boat early April. Inever heard back from customer until around memorial day. He was having a problem getting the boat started so I helped him thru that and even made a follow up call and spoke to a young lady who said they had gotthe boat running but had not went out yet. Never heard back until early June and I asked Mr. [redacted] to drop boat off. He did and I moved his work order in front of lots of other work order and was able to check the boat out on the 4Ih of June. He said no gauges were working but we had engine running with all gauges functional. The silicone on the manifold had started to leak and the thermostat was sticking. Inever ordered a thermostat because Ithought we had one in our inventory that would work. Iwaswrong, Iwasalso trying to find Mr. [redacted] a used manifold which I was unsuccessful in doing. After all ofthat Mr. [redacted] decided to pick up the boat and trailer. When I was moving the boat I noticed that nose of the boat was bouncing like it wasn't strapped down at the bow. I got off the tractor only to find the trailer frame support for the bow stop assy was rusted and broken. I called Mr. [redacted] and expressed to him that the trailer was not safe to drive down the road. This was a courtesy call to inform him of the issue with the trailer that I just happened to notice while moving it around. Nobody stood on his trailer and where it's located it would be hard to stand on anyway. It rusted thru and broke..bottom line!!! I have never once been rude or gave Mr. [redacted] bad service. The only thing Iam guilty ofis not ordering a thermostat timely. Mr. [redacted] was rude on the phone, throwing accusations that we broke the trailer, we broke the boat etc. All I have ever done is try and help him out. In response to Mr. [redacted]'s last sentence, I have never tried to have him pay for anything more than what he needed. In Fact, I gave him a discount on his initial work order and I obviously didn't charge him for this last time in. Iwould be glad to speak to whoeverabout this issue atany time. Les F[redacted]Collins Marine

When the boat was dropped off I asked for everything to be checked down to the fuse for the depth finder. I was told everything works including the gauges in the dash. As of today the gauges do not work I had to have the frame welded and had to have the thermostat replaced. I spent over a thousand dollars and was sent out the door with issues that should have been addressed while it was in for service. As for the comment from les regarding a courtesy call regarding the broken frame. I would expect a call when something is broken and was not like that when dropped off. Also why did it take a week for les to tell me my frame was broken could it be because it wasnt until they damaged it. I was told they were going to replace the thermostat which never happened. During my phone conversation with les in service I asked him if he was charging me for the thermostat and he did tell me yes it is about 80.00.  I am disgusted with the service that collins marine provides I was sent out with a boat that my first time in the water it over heated and I was stuck on the lake with my wife and three young children who were very upset and crying. I had to get towed back in and after calling les I was told bring it back I will take care of it right away. One week after dropping it off still wasnt fixed and beyond that my trailer was damaged. I would like compensation for the broken frame on my trailer as well as the thermostat that was never taken care of. There is no reason after apending over a 1000.00 dollars that I should have to pay for these repairs out of pocket. I do not feel safe with collins marine doing the repairs and will take it to another marine service dept who knows how to treat there customers. I am very disappointed in how there service dept treats there customers with such lack of concern and respect.

Due to the complaint of the rental boat on 9/3/16, we have decided to refund the rental amount in full due to customers dissatisfaction. At this time this seems to be the only solution. We apologize for any issues this customer may have experienced at the time of rental.Regards,Joy [redacted], Collins...
