This is in response to [redacted] 's reply on his heat pump leak subject.I have enclosed some articles on Heat Pump leaks which gives insight into why leaks happen and what an HVAC Service Company will do when they respond to a No AC CallAlso, note the life expectancy of a Heat Pump Unit is to years, his Unit was years old.In June of we received a "NO A/C" call and a technician was sent to Mr[redacted] 's residenceAt this time the system was charged with pounds of Freonand the unit was once again cooling his homeAlmost one year later, May 2016, Mr [redacted] 's A/C stopped working correctly and he called in and requested that we come out and find his leakOur technicians went to Mr[redacted] 's residence and his system was diagnosedIt was determined that it needed to be replaced due to the system having green sludge throughoutAt this time, Mr [redacted] was told that his system was not repairable and would need to be replacedWe then quoted him a price to replace his systemHe did not like our price and responded that he was going to buy his own off of the internet but wanted us to install itWe explained to him that we do not install customer supplied unitsWe did not hear from him until your letter to us with the ComplaintWhen Mr [redacted] called and complained to us at first, we did not invoice him for work done because we did not get his Unit running.Bottom line: The accumulator rusted and had a slow leak that let the Freon out and the outside air and moisture inThis moisture and air contaminated the system and led to its failureWe did not put any chemical in his Unit to "gunk" it upEnclosed you will find an article on an "AC Leak Freeze" sealer that can be put in a Heat Pump Unit to stop a leakMy technician did not use this product or any other stop-leak productIt took almost a year to lose enough Freon for system failure

Charles Messina Plumbing & Electric went to a service call at *** ***s home located at ** *** *** *** ** *** on June 12,with the problem of no A/CAt the time his Unit was low on Freon in which 4lbs was instilled which did give him A/C and he reported no
problemsHis Unit was very old (over years) and needed to be replaced but the Freon did give him A/C and gave the customer time to save money when it would no longer workWe were called for another service call on 5/31/with no A/C againFound the outdoor unit rusted and the accumulator rusted which left the Unit with no Freon at allWe went to the supply House and bought a new accumulator and installed but the piston unit in attic was blocked probably from all the rust throughout his systemOur guys worked a little while longer to change filters and blow out the unit but his unit was so old and rusted it was impossible to save itWe gave Mr*** a proposal for a new Heat Pump/Air Handler/Heat Strip Unit (Trane) with warranties for 5,but came down to 4,*** spoke to Mr*** several timesWe never sent him a bill for all the service we did on his Unit which would have been around It was not Freon or even Dye to look for leaks that clogged his Unit up - it was the fact that the rust was all through the systemHe told *** that he did not have the money so he was going to buy a Unit off the internet and have his friend install itWe went above and beyond our service with no appreciation *** *** **/Charles Messina Plumbing & Electric Co., Inc

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I was unable to type a response to Messina's response to my initial claim. In the statement submitted by Messina, it stated that MrMessina spoke to me several times. That is not true. I can request phone records from my phone company that will show that he only called me once. After I had another company assess the issue with my system, and inform me that the previous tech (Messina's tech) stripped the valve closed which caused my lines to become clogged. I called several times. Each time, I was told "*** will return your call", or "*** is at a wedding", and "*** is at his granddaughter's Kindergarten graduation". He never returned my call after the first call. How would I know his personal business like that if is was not told to me? Another point I would like to make is: They stated that they replaced parts in an attempt to "fix" my unit. Initially, the tech said my system was completely rusted out. Why would a company replace ANYTHING if the system is completely rusted out, and in need of replacement? When Mobile Air came out to look at my system, he noticed the valve was stripped closed. That's when he cut the valve (because it was no good) and we noticed a thick oil like substance come out (it was not rust). I still have the valve as well that can show there's no rust, and the valve is stripped shut. Again, I don't see why they would replace any parts, if the system was rusted and in need of replacing. the parts were replaced in an attempt to cover the mistake the tech made initially. Again, I'm not trying to get over on anyone. I feel it would be ethical to at least pay the labor for the system I had to have installed. On a side note, last year when I called to have my system serviced, I stated that I thought there was a leak in the system. When the tech came out, he checked the pressure, then filled it with Freon. I called the office and stated that I wanted the system checked for leaks because I did not want to have to pay $to refill it the following year. I was told that they would note in their system that I would not be charged a service fee if I was out of Freon the following year. Thank you *** ***

This is in response to [redacted]'s reply on his heat pump leak subject.I have enclosed some articles on Heat Pump leaks which gives insight into why leaks happen and what an HVAC Service Company will do when they respond to a No AC Call. Also, note the life expectancy of a Heat Pump Unit is 12 to 15 years, his Unit was 12 years old.In June of 2015 we received a "NO A/C" call and a technician was sent to Mr.[redacted]'s residence. At this time the system was charged with 4 pounds of Freon1 and the unit was once again cooling his home. Almost one year later, May 2016, Mr. [redacted]'s A/C stopped working correctly and he called in and requested that we come out and find his leak. Our technicians went to Mr.[redacted]'s residence and his system was diagnosed. It was determined that it needed to be replaced due to the system having green sludge throughout. At this time, Mr. [redacted] was told that his system was not repairable and would need to be replaced. We then quoted him a price to replace his system. He did not like our price and responded that he was going to buy his own off of the internet but wanted us to install it. We explained to him that we do not install customer supplied units. We did not hear from him until your letter to us with the Complaint. When Mr. [redacted] called and complained to us at first, we did not invoice him for work done because we did not get his Unit running.Bottom line: The accumulator rusted and had a slow leak 2 that let the Freon out and the outside air and moisture in. This moisture and air contaminated the system and led to its failure. 1 We did not put any chemical in his Unit to "gunk" it up. Enclosed you will find an article on an "AC Leak Freeze" sealer that can be put in a Heat Pump Unit to stop a leak. My technician did not use this product or any other stop-leak product.2 It took almost a year to lose enough Freon for system failure.
