provoked a call from a belligerent Mr*** insisting that he was not responsible for paying for the roof repairs as we could not provide proof of a signed contract authorizing the repairs We have the word of our worker, which Mr*** confirmed that he told the worker he wanted to go ahead with the $repair when he had things settled with the bank in about days We sent a man crew out who spent hours repairing the roof Mr*** claims to have been out of town and so had no evidence the roof was repaired rte was told the evidence would be that it was no longer leaking to which he quickly replied that it is It is odd that we sent copies of the invoice monthly and called weekly for over five months and not once were we told that the roof was still leaking at the area of repair Mr*** is insistent that since we could not proffer evidence of a signed contract he does not have to pay for the services performed with his verbal consent alone Mr***'s invoice was voided and he has been placed on our do not service list Company policy has also been revised to not allow work to proceed on any residence, no matter how small, without a written signed contract and payment in full before the start of work It is a shame that business can no longer be conducted on the basis of someone's word in the matter and their good faith adherence to their word Collum Roofing will continue to do superior work which we honor and stand behind long after the period in which it would be deemed necessary to do so
Sincerely,
Collum Roofing, Inc

It is not true that they called me at least once. I have both the invoice that was sent to me and I have cell phone records as my proof that they never called me. I never mentioned anybody that I need to work with a bank for 265$. 265$ is not a big money to work with the bank. I sent 2 letters and they refused to even get the letters. I have the letters with me.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Repairs were completed at [redacted] on November 8, 2013 with the verbal consent of the owner of the property, [redacted]. After repeated attempts to collect payment for be roof repairs, a finance charge was sent out.  This...

provoked a call from a belligerent Mr. [redacted] insisting that he was not responsible for paying for the roof repairs as we could not provide proof of a signed contract authorizing the repairs.   We have the word of our worker, which Mr. [redacted] confirmed that he told the worker he wanted to go ahead with the $265.00 repair when he had things settled with the bank in about 10 days.  We sent a 2 man crew out who spent 4 hours repairing the roof   Mr. [redacted] claims to have been out of town and so had no evidence the roof was repaired.  rte was told the evidence would be that it was no longer leaking to which he quickly replied that it is.  It is odd that we sent copies of the invoice monthly and called weekly for over five months and not once were we told that the roof was still leaking at the area of repair.  Mr. [redacted] is insistent that since we could not proffer evidence of a signed contract he does not have to pay for the services performed with his verbal consent alone.  Mr. [redacted]'s invoice was voided and he has been placed on our do not service list.  Company policy has also been revised to not allow work to proceed on any residence, no matter how small, without a written signed contract and payment in full before the start of work.  It is a shame that business can no longer be conducted on the basis of someone's  word in the matter and their good faith adherence to their word.  Collum Roofing will continue to do superior work which we honor and stand behind long after the period in which it would be deemed necessary to do so.

Sincerely,

Collum Roofing, Inc.
