Made verbal agreement with a manager at property to adjust move out charges. I was sent to collections for full amount.
I spoke directly with William *** about $747 in move out charges. He agreed they were incorrect. I sent proof of insurance that property was fully covered. $20 charge should have been removed. I was charged $200 for cleaning of garage. William agreed acorns in garage that mice brought in did not justify $200 cleaning charge. $150 deposit was not applied to move out charges. An adjusted bill was not sent to me and I was sent to collections for full amount. Collections agency charges interest. I was a 3 year resident and never late on payment. In May 2018 my air conditioner did not function properly for 21 days despite multiple maintenance requests. It was not replaced until I escalated the issue. No compensation was provided for the misery of excessive Texas summer heat. The insufficient replacement AC resulted in $200 electric monthly bill although apartment was on 1st floor facing east and shaded by trees. Several other residents I spoke with had similar experiences with maintenance. Maintenance really deteriorated in the last year of residence. Trash pickup was always an issue at this location and an open dumpster was placed onsite the last 6 months of residence. The rear gate is usually broken at times for over a month allowing anyone to access the location. Crime is rampant at this location. I was verbally threatened by two residents. Dog feces are everywhere.
I expect a billing adjustment, removal from collections and this to be removed from my credit report.

Desired Outcome

Move out charges should be adjusted by $370 and compensation for 21 days of misery while AC was broken.

while out on Surgery, I reported water damage and mold in the ceiling of the apartment on June, XX XXXX, no one has done any repairs until this day.
on June 19, 2018 I went to office to complain about the water damage and mold in the ceiling in my living room, no one has done any repairs in the apartment. when I went to pay in October, I asked why haven't the repairs been done, the agent "states we will look into it, but your rent is 1519.00 she disregard and disrespect of a tenant is all call from, door handle also reported same day not have been fixed as of this day, cracks in wall nothing completed only thing was done was the sink.

Desired Outcome

damages, and to break lease for health reason, I developed coughing and taking test on lungs and stomach from this.

They are trying to charge me for insufficient notice fee.
I gave this apartment my 60 day notice on 06/31/2018 letting them know that I would be out of the apartment complex by the end of lease on 08.31.18. I was able to finish all of my packing and was able to return my keys on 08.06.18 however I paid for the entire month. On 08.27.18, they sent me a bill for $210.28 stating that it was for the remaining utilities, however, when I called them about it, they stated that they had to prorate my rent for the days in August that I was not there, basically returning $1010.48 to me but then turned around and charged me an insufficient notice fee of $1010.50. This is totally incorrect. I gave exactly 60 days notice as mentioned in the contract. So after they prorated this and took the money for the utilities, I should be receiving a credit of $800.22.

The last few months I was there, they let pest control into my apartment illegally stating that they accidentally gave them the wrong key. I emailed their manager Steven *** and informed him of many things that occurred and received no response for him. They left many maintenance requests incompleted including 2 holes in my walls. I fill like I should be reimbursed this $800.22 for the cost of living in an apartment that was not fixed when asked and for charging me an illegal insufficient notice fee, because sufficient notice was given.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be reimbursed the $800.22 I deserve

I have a maintenance issue that has not been responded to adequately.
I live in an apartment complex that is owned by MAA in Texas that has been incredibly unhelpful regarding my air conditioning unit that has been giving us trouble since 3-18-18. We have reached out to maintenance on multiple occasions, (some of which go completely unanswered) are promised things that are not delivered, and receive little to no response from the leasing office regarding the issue.

Additionally, I have filed a complaint with the corporate office which has yet to respond to me in a timely manner. The customer service that I have received regarding our service requests has been horrible at best. One maintenance technician even implied that it was my fault for living on a third floor apartment and that I should live with it being over 80 degrees inside.

I am incredibly disappointed in the lengths I have had to go to in order to get our air conditioning unit replaced. We have had two maintenance men out in the past 4 days who both indicated that we needed a new unit. Finally, I believed something was going to be done, until I reviewed my service request today and found that it had been cancelled.

The lack of follow up and follow through by the leasing office and maintenance has been beyond imagination. I have received no responses to emails or phone calls from the leasing office. I have never worked with a company that has been so negligent! Unfortunately, we had to take matters into our own hands and purchased a portable air conditioning unit in order for us to be able to have one room that is cooled down. We have two dogs and we are concerned for their health and ours. As Texas temperatures rise into the high 90's or 100's, our apartment that we call home has turned into a 200 square foot space.

Desired Outcome

I would like a new A/C unit installed properly and promptly. Additionally, I would like some form of reimbursement for rent and/or electric bill as we had been running a broken A/C unit for well over a month.

A/c was replaced on 06/21/2018. On reimbursement the resident will need to provide copies of their electric bills from 02/XXXX - XX/21/2018 to the Property Manager for review and then reimbursement can be discussed.

I am writing to complain about several issues I have faced as a tenant at CV at Oakbend. My roommates and I have been leasing this apartment for 2 years. We have never caused issues, we have maintained the apartment and never missed or late on a payment. We have recently, over several months, faced several issues regarding our health and safety. We have requested numerous times to have the dead battery replaced in our smoke alarm because the ceiling is too high to take care of this ourselves. It has been over a month with no resolution. Or dryer makes a loud screaming sound that is concerning but, again, after several complaints, nothing has been done. I was verbally assaulted by my neighbor. I believe he got us confused with someone else and I felt unsafe. I called the manager, emailed the manager, went down to talk to the manager but I never was able to get in touch with anyone. We have ants in or closets and pests outside that eat our trash that the valet is suppose to pick up as part of our lease. We have given a 30 day notice after these issues forced us to refuse renewing our lease. After discussion, and continued failure to repair these issues, we went to give our notice. The manager stated that since we have failed to comply with the 60 day notice, we will have to pay the 'month to month? option at over 3,000 for the last month to 'fulfill the lease agreement'. After the negligence on the end of management to respond to any of our issues, most of which involved our safety, I do not see how I am bound to this lease. The lease states after 2 written attempts with no resolution we are exempt from this agreement. We just want to leave so we can feel safe in our home.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment My desired resolution is to leave at the end of our 1 year lease without paying 3,000 for an extra month outside of our lease to fulfill a 60 day notice. Apartment is clean, and in the same condition that it was received. We are up to date to all payments and want to leave.

This matter has already been resolved. The resident has agreed fufill their notice at the current rate they are paying. Managment agreed not to charge the month to month rate. Copy of the email can be provided upon request.

I moved out recently and am trying to pay my final bill, however return contact has been limited. They have turned this over to a collection company
I moved out of this complex, after proper notice on May 2nd. They didn't perform a customary walkthrough so I took video of the condition of the apartment. I received the bill, about 2 weeks ago, that was dated 5-16-17 (the date it was printed). I received a letter from a collection agency a couple of days later, regarding the final bill. I contacted the apartment complex immediately and had a dispute with some of the $700 in final charges. I have communicated that I would like to pay the bill and we finally agreed on the final amount. I mentioned I would pay the bill this Friday, 6-26-17, and asked what forms of payment are accepted. At this point, I'm just trying to pay the final bill to Colonial Village at Oak Bend before the credit collection company places this on my credit. It doesn't seem as though the management is interested in communicating with me, so I may pay it. They seem more interested in placing this on my credit, though I just received this bill 2 weeks ago!

Desired Outcome

I would like to know what form of payment is accepted and to halt the collection attempt. I indicated I will pay the final bill, they should give me the opportunity.

did move out on 05/02/2017. His final statement was mailed and in addition to the mailed final statement two emails were also sent on behalf of his balance and also letting him know that his account was scheduled to go to collections as of 06/01/2017. Mr. Nunley contacted me on 06/14/2017 in regards to his final bill and we have responded accordingly. Copies of the emails can be provided if need be. As an act of good faith I agreed to remove $39 of the fees. Mr. Nunley was also informed that the account was already in collections as per the emails stated and that he would have to send payment to the collections agency. After Mr. Nunley was informed is when the complaint was filed and he started threating to take legal action. Pictures of the condition of the apartment can also be provided that substantiate the charges to his account along with his lease contract.
