We have reviewed the complaint of [redacted] that was forwardedto us by your office. Our research has found that representatives of our company have responded to therequests of Mr. [redacted] in regard to issues with this skylight on 3 occasions in the pastand as the homeowner has written we...

have replaced the unit 3 times. It is very unusualfor this problem to continue to repeat itself after the components have been replacedmultiple times. It leads me to wonder if the water that is showing up at the skylight maybe coming in somewhere above the unit and showing up at the skylight. In any event we will continue to work at this problem until we can get it resolved.Unfortunately the nature of the work is dependent on the weather. The roof area will haveto be clean of snow and ice.I guess all we can do is monitor the weather and respond as soon as possibleSincerely

Review: In July 2015 I bought a $144,000 colony home from American homes out of Richfield Springs NY. Thefre is many things wrong with the home that we are not happy with but the biggest one is the flooring. There is many spots on the floor that there is stuff under it that is pushing up through and there is a few spots were the floor decking is uneven and is wearing through already. I called several times and colony Homes wants me to take a payment of $1500 or have them put new flooring in. how ever if they put new flooring in it will have to be done in pieces and have seams in my doorways and have molding put around the cabinets . I dont have that now it is all one piece and I dont want that. I also dont think $1500 is far to settle on this . I just called again today and they were kind of rude I was told I would have to take the $1500 or let them do the flooring there way.Desired Settlement: I would like the money it is going to cost me to have the floor redone with some kind of flooring that there will be no seams such as lvp flooring. or for them to come in and do the flooring with NO seams.

Response:

I am writing in response to the above referenced complaint. Please be advised that I have had conversations with Mr. [redacted] and we have come to the agreement that Colony Homes will install a laminate flooring in the affected areas to resolve the problem. I have sent samples of flooring to the home-owner for them to pick a style. That has been over 2 weeks ago and I have not yet received a response. As a matter of fact I just called Mr. [redacted] this morning to see if he had picked a sample. I was unable to get an answer, but I did leave a message. That is pretty much where we stand at this time. I will keep you informed as to any changes.

Review: My boyfriend and I purchased a Colony Manufactured Home from 422 Homes in Indiana PA in May 2015. We officially moved in on November 18, 2015. Prior to moving in, we performed multiple final walk through's to create a punch list of items that need fixed/completed/replaced. We have been told multiple times that someone from Colony would contact us to set a date for the repairs. We have yet to hear from the company. We have made multiple calls to the factory requesting that the damaged/incomplete things be fixed, and no one returns our calls or gives us an answer when we call. Along with a multitude of finish work, there are more serious problems that should have been addressed prior to or soon after moving in. Utilities were not hooked up during walk through and some issues related to that were noticed upon moving in. The more serious issues have been brought to their attention in our multiple calls and still have not been resolved.Desired Settlement: We would like to have the repairs completed in a timely manner as we have lived in the brand new home for over a month.

We have received a copy of the complaint of [redacted], as referencedabove.Colony has been in contract with the customer and jointly have come to theconclusion that it would be best if a manager from our company met at the home with theowners and perform a visual inspection of the concerns. That scheduled appointment is set up for Wednesday January 6th at 5pmIt is our intention to perform the necessary corrective actions required to bring thehome up to the standards. We will keep your office advised as to our progress in resolving this issue.RespectfullyCustomer Service Manager

Review: I am writing to ask for assistance with an on going issue since the install of my home. We have had a issue with one of the sky lights in the kitchen leaking. It has been re caulked twice and has also been replaced twice and continues to leak and stain my ceiling and walls. This has caused alot of stress to me and my wife. We bought this home after loosing everything to a house fire. You cannot imagine the stress with our replacement home having on going damage. I am also concerned with the potential for rot and mold with this leak. My son has asthma and this can have a dramatic affect on his medical condition. I am going to send this also to the Revdex.com due to this issue being not handled to my satisfaction. Please contact me to allow for this issue to be taken care of. Desired Settlement: I would like for all issues to be fixed right and also the associated damages to be addressed. Last time they stated they only fix the issue not additional damage.

Review: We purchased the house in May 2012. Since May 2012 the factory has been out to fix a leak in the bedroom/secondary bath more than 4 times. They have repainted the water damaged ceilings 3 times. As of tonight the ceiling is leaking again. I have placed buckets in my bathroom yet again to catch the severe water leak. In January it took contacting my mortgage company to get someone to come out in February to assess the leak and fix it. We have placed a phone call in tonight and was told someone would be calling us back shortly and we have heard nothing. The ceiling/vent continues to leak. The bathroom smells and due to only having 3 bedrooms the 15 month old sleeps in the bedroom that has leaked several times.Desired Settlement: I would like that part of the house replaced or a new modular brought in. I am afraid after more than 4 severe leaks in every season mold will start to grow.

See attached File.

As a response to the above referenced complaint received in our office on 7/26/2013, please be advised that on July 16th a representative of Colony Homes visited the residence. At the request of the homeowner we performed a thorough investigation of the area where the roof leak had occurred. We removed sections of the roofing to access the interior cavity over the bathroom. Our inspection found no signs of any residual damages or mold growth, the area was clean and pristine. There were no signs of any further water leaks after our prior service tech had sealed around the bath vent. I believe that with these actions we were able to put the homeowners mind at ease in regard to the roof leak.
