Can you confirm the phone notes that I was advised it was in everyone's best interest to address these faulty tires at a lower mileage, rather than struggling through the first 20,like last time, with repeated problems, until finally getting the warranty credit All I want is a similar credit be offered in writing on this vehicle and then to put on the Avid Ascends, identical to the arrangement Yokohama accepted on the previous vehicle This has also been relayed to Toyota Please put in writing you will honor the same deal as last time on this new vehicles same faultly tire Revdex.com please keep this open and send a copy of the case file with all responses both past and present to the address listed on file, physical copy hard mail as originally requested as well Having everything in writing greatly assists me with my learning disability, ADHD, as mentioned previously Thank you for noting this and accepting this ADA approved accommodation Regards, [redacted]

This is in response to the Revdex.com complaint #***. The Yokohama Standard Limited Warranty covers tires displaying a warrantable condition for four years from the date of vehicle purchaseThis policy is not a warranty that your tire will not wear out, fail, or become unserviceable if neglected
or mistreatedOriginal Equipment Yokohama tires do not have a specified mileage limitation.Last year on another vehicle we provided a goodwill non-warranty concession into another product model than the OE model {Revdex.com 1/15} with approx20,miles complaining of Early Wear. He has bought a second vehicle with the same OE tiresHe wants to exchange the OE tires with 2,miles for the model we gave on his other vehicle at 100%. Yokohama explained that we don’t have an OE exchange program however; referred him to his dealership for inspection and to contact our Consumer Affairs DepartmentHe was rude, upset and hung up. Yokohama Tire Corporation is committed to providing our customers
with the highest level of both quality and serviceIf all tire problems such
as *** *** described could be attributed only to defects in materials
and/or workmanship, it would be possible to resolve all reported problems and
satisfy all parties involvedUnfortunately, this is not always the case
The tire conditions found in *** ***’s tire fall under the stated category of road hazard injuries such as
impact damage caused by obstacles or debris, improper inflation,
under-inflation and/or overloading, and as such, are specifically excluded from
Yokohama’s Standard Limited WarrantySuch damages are beyond any tire
manufacturer’s control
In all cases of product damage, claims and incident reports, our
insurance company mandates that the subject tire must be available and inspected
with a warrantable condition found before they will pay for any vehicle
repair. We have an independent tire
expert inspect all tires reported to be involved in a product damage
claim. This is done to avoid any
customer concerns of the company not assuming responsibility when a warrantable
condition is observed. In *** ***’s
case, there were no warrantable conditions foundIn fact, there was visible
road hazard damage to the tire from an impact with an external foreign object
*** ***’s request to Revdex.com stated, “I would like to be
reimbursed for the damage to my vehicle as well as for the cost to replace the
defective tires.” Based on *** ***’s insurance notice to us, *** *** *** is responsible for the repair of their insured’s vehicle, less the insurance
deductible is $Replacement tire cost $172.00, which, the tire dealer
gave $credit toward replacement tire of $plus $credit
toward the tax of said tire purchaseIf *** *** has accepted the Yokohama
Tire’s goodwill offer of $250.00, that would have left a $out-of-pocket
expense for *** *** in this event*** *** did pay for the additional
second tire cost, tax, and road hazard insurance, which was not involved with
this incident
*** *** declined our goodwill offer; therefore, we are not
in a position to assist her any further.
Please feel free to contact me by phone *** *** * *** or email *** should
you have any questions
Sincerely,

*** *** This is why I requested Revdex.com helpThe claims by Yokohama are at best generic in natureWhat is the opinion of the Revdex.com? I have heard the opinion of Yokohama, I obliviously do not agreeI want the Revdex.com to adjudicate this matterIf Revdex.com does not have the jurisdiction to render an enforceable decision then we are all just wastingtime
Please advice.*** ***

In reference to a complaint filed with you by *** *** (claimant)
against Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC), our communication with the claimant are
as
follows:
On August 2015, YTC was notified of an incident that occurred
with *** ***'s tire and vehicle on August entailing what *** *** described as a tire blow outOn the same day, YTC mailed *** ***
a package consisting of:
1) A letter explaining YTC’s claim
resolution policy
2) We arranged with Discount Tire
to ship *** ***’s tire to YTC for inspection of the tire by an independent
tire expert
3) A request for specific
documentation needed to validate the claim, i.ea copy of the vehicle owner’s
registration, estimates for the vehicle damages, an invoice for the purchase of
the subject tire, pictures of the vehicle damage, and description of the incident
and maintenance of the tires, etc
On August 2015, we received the subject tire from Discount Tire
On August 2015, an independent tire expert inspected *** ***’s tireThe tire expert determined the cause of the tire disablement was
due to a road hazard event, which caused the tread and belt to detach from the
tire structures
Within the zone
of separation, there are snapped overlay cords with sidewall marking as the
result of an impact with sufficient force to break the cordsAlong
with contributing conditions as follows:
• Over-Deflection: Indications of the tire was operated over-deflected (underinflated
or overloaded) for some time.*
• Bluing: The tire was running hot due partially to over-deflectionCombined
with speed, excessive stress caused high
heatWith the high temperatures, bluing of the tread surface resulted
• Durometer Readings: The tire had high durometer values for a tire made in
The tire was artificially aged (possibly due to poor storage or high,
localized temperatures.)
• Light Road
Rash: The result of continued driving on the tire following the tread / belt detachment
On August 2015, we received the requested documentation from
claimant
On September 2015, YTC mailed a certified letter to the *** *** summarizing the inspection findings; the tire failed because of an
injury from a sudden and excessive force applied to the tire exterior, which exceeded
its material limits Yokohama provided a
detailed description of what was found and the cause of the observed
conditions
As stated in YTC’s Standard Limited Warranty covering all
passenger car, high performance, light truck, temporary spare and truck and bus
tires, YTC does specifically exclude tire conditions that fall under the stated category of
road hazard injuries or damages, caused by obstacles or debris, or
impact damage, penetrations, punctures (whether repairable or not) improper
inflation, under-inflation and/or overloadingDespite such damages being
beyond any tire manufacturer’s control, Yokohama
offered goodwill to *** *** for $to cover some of out-of-pocket
expenses assoscated with the incident
On October 2015, we received an insurance subrogation notice
from *** ***’s insurance companyWe responded to *** *** ***
via letter dated October restating YTC’s determination of the cause of
the tire disablement. *** *** *** did not pursue the claim further or request the subject tire to be
returned to them for their inspection and determination, as we recommended
On November 2015, *** *** declined our goodwill offer
On November 2015, we mailed a letter in response to *** ***’s letter disputing our findingsOnce again, we provided a generous
goodwill offer of $to assist with the insurance deductible to repair the
vehicle because *** *** is a Yokohama customerAt no time did Yokohama
advise *** *** that the cause of the tire failure was due to commercial use
and/or tire mileage.
Yokohama Tire Corporation is satisfied that it has taken fair and
equitable measures to ensure that the resolution of this claim is in compliance
with its product warranty, business standards and all relevant state
regulations
Provided are copies of the tire inspection, goodwill letters and
response letter that were sent to *** *** from Yokohama Tire Corporation
and a copy of the letter to her insurance company
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions
regarding *** ***’s tire claim and or the information provided in this
response letter to you.

Had the customer contacted our call center or sent us an email we would have naturally let him know that the error had already been corrected and given him a time window as to when his card should arrive.

The card is going out no later than tomorrow.  TouchPoint received no calls or emails from this customer.  If they were contacted, they would’ve accommodated and sent out a prepaid card.

I would like to know what exactly your four year warrantee covers.  My tires have always had perfect air pressure.  They are unevenly being worn down, with nothing wrong with the vehicle. They are not being normally worn out, which I understand you do not cover. They have abnormally wearing on the outer edge of the tires, not being worn down from driving. My tires are not neglected or mistreated.  I always make sure they have correct air pressure at all times and whatever needs to be done with them is done.  I would never neglect something that could potentially cause harm to my children if I didn’t do what needed to be done.  My tires have been cracking not punctured due to road hazards.  Everywhere I have taken my vehicle I have been told there is something wrong with the tire itself or the rubber you made the tires with.  I understand you, and most tire companies, do not cover road hazard failure with your tires.  I have not had road hazard issues.  My issues relate directly to the fact my tires have been cracking and now have uneven wear that Dodge specifically told me was related to the tire itself and not anything I could have prevented.  They said there is a defect in the tires and I should contact the tire company because this is very abnormal for tires to do with nothing wrong with the vehicle itself. I need at least two front tires.  Like I stated before, I have two small children that need a safe vehicle to ride in.  I cannot believe your company is refusing to help me when none of these problems with the tires are due to road hazards or an issue with the vehicle, which I understand your warrantee doesn’t cover. How can you not help someone who has contacted your company with a problem with your product? This has been three tires now that have to be replaced and are not repairable. How can you tell a customer it isn’t your fault when the tires are faulty?  You made the product and are responsible for certain things that happen. So again, I would like to know what exactly your four year warrantee covers, it seems that it doesn’t cover anything.  The issues you stated for what the warrantee doesn’t cover are none of the issues I am having.
