We just completed the construction of our new home with Colony Homes, LLC and they did an outstanding job! We highly recommend Colony Homes as a builder We have built several homes in the past and I actually worked for another home builder and it was a pleasure working with EVERYONE on the Colony Homes team Being in the Real Estate Industry, I know that everyone is going to have ups and downs when building, but what is important is the follow up and attention that you get when there are questions or things that may need to be altered That's where Colony Homes makes a HUGE difference We have ALWAYS received the attention we needed I know that when dealing with subcontractors, Colony always looks out for YOUR interest to make sure that YOU ARE SATISFIED and if not, they will make sure that their contractors make it right We were contacted about EVERY LAST DETAIL during our building process to make sure that it was EXACTLY as we wanted If for some reason our idea could not work, they always had a great solution, which in most cases turned out to be even better than our idea! If you are interested in having a custom home, you would be better off looking elsewhere We contracted the builder for specific items in our home to find that the design and preliminary construction phases would never have accomodated those items Items that were specifically listed in the contract were switched out with other brands So many failures in the building departments framing inspection report that the inspector just stopped writing Items were installed that were in conflict with the manufactures guidelines, that would have resulted in nullifyiing the waranty If you ever need a home built, make sure that you hold back at least 10% of the construction cost; if not, there is no incentive for the builder to complete the work They don't follon clients questions When we visited the work site we heard numerous complaints from the subs that they were not being paid in a timely manner Our cabinetmaker, a 2nd generation business with years of experience, has severed their ties with this company Colony contract called for a 12% change order fee, but they charged 30% instead and they went as far as coercing their vendors into supporting the up charges The way in which they handle their reputable vendors can only result in fewer to work with I hope that others don't make the same mistake and instead go with a company that actually understands the importance of customer service, integrity and reputation I built a home much larger than this one that was much more complicated to higher building standards in half the time, but unfortunately we were out of state and couldn't do the same for this one

After retiring from my job in New Jersey I had for years, it was nice for me and my wife to move down to the gulf coast near where my daughter lives with her familyColony Homes helped us to build the home that we needed to fill out our bucket lists as retirees

We contracted to build a home with Colony in May of 2013. From the begiining there where major commuincation issues, slow to NO work being done at the site, and a builder who decided to make MAJOR changes to the structure without commuincating to us at all. After repeated attempts to try and get answers from Colony [ [redacted] and [redacted] ] we had no choice but to use Colony's own arbitration clause to resolve the growing problem. Colony choose to string out the arbitration case, again refusing to commuinate or try and resolve the issues. Finally in June of 2015 the Arbitrator agreed with us and ruled against Colony, siting breach of contract as well as awarding us other damages.
I would not recomend Colony to anyone looking to build a home

My husband and I just signed and closed on our home this past month with no delays in the building process. We couldn't be more satisfied with Colony Homes. Their quality of craftsmanship is truly exceptional. We couldn't be more pleased. Everyone that we encountered in the process of building our home were more than helpful and very knowledgeable.
