Colony South Hotel Reviews (5)

Review: I visited this hotel on 4-6-13 and stayed one night. I left and came back to North Carolina the next day, on the monday I saw there was an additional charge on my bank account in the amount of 14.05 that I didn't have any clue what it was about. I contacted the manager of the hotel to see what the charge was for and she told me she could not find any additional charges. I then told her it was for the restaurant in the the hotel due to my bank statement. She checked and told me she could not find where my card had been used in the hotel other than the fact it was used for my one night stay in the amount of 98.79. I sent my bank statement to them for them to see that I was telling the truth and the hotel manager told me she would speak to the manager in the food and beverage department. I was then transfered to him to see what he could do for me and he told me that he did not see where I had been in his establisment for any reason. He then told me what he would do is send me a check out for the amout due to me. I never heard anything back from him nor did I recieve the check promised to me. I gave it some time for the check to get here and it never came. So I contacted them on 4-30-2013 to see what happened. I never got a call back. I called again on 5-1-2013 and spoke with the manager of the food and beverage department after he was suppose to call me back, and he never did. I finally had to keep calling and then I was able to reach him. He told me he would do what he said, but I don't believe him. I don't know what do to at this point, I just want my money back.Desired Settlement: Nothing Yet

Review: I cancelled my membership with the Colony South Fitness and Sports Club in November 2012. I was told that my membership would be cancelled. In January 2013, my credit card was charged again. I called [redacted] and he told me that they changed computer programs and my name was out of the system but that I would be reimbursed for the two months. I continued to call [redacted] (he did not return my calls), I sent a letter to the hotel manager and [redacted] and I sent an email to the Hotel Manager ([redacted]). Response:

May 28, 2014Thank you for returning my call today. I am responding to a complaint [redacted] from a [redacted]. This man has wasted anough of your time and mine. He stayed here at The Colony South, registered, took full advantages services and then tries to dispute his credit cald. HE LOST his attempts and really was trying to defrud us,I suggest that when taking a complaint, you get more information or proof from the claimant. We run a very reputable and legitimate business here and to waste our time with this type of claim takes time away from Service we can be offering our guests. Please verify to me in writing that this has been dismissed.Thank you.

Review: I was evicted from my room at2:30 in the morning for no reasonDesired Settlement: Total refund of charges

I booked a hotel stay with Colony South Hotel and Conference Center, online, through Booking.com, for 2 nights. I had to cancel the stay within an hour and a half of making the reservation, due to a family emergency that prevented the originally planned trip. Colony South Hotel charged my bank account for the entire 2 night stay. I contacted Booking.com, who informed me that the decision to refund, fully or partially, was left up to Colony South Hotel. I contacted Colony South Hotel and spoke with Director of Rooms who informed me that Booking.com was responsible for refunding my payment. I IMMEDIATELY called Booking.com, and was assured that it is up to the hotel to refund any monies. The representative with Booking.com IMMEDIATELY made an attempt to contact the Director of Rooms, whom I'd just spoken with, to conference call, in hopes of resolving the situation. The Director of Rooms was not available. I called the Director of Rooms and left 2 more messages. 2 days later, I received a returned call from a female manager, and whoever she had with her on speaker phone. The female manager told me that the hotel reserved the right to charge for a "no show". I explained that my case was not a "no show", but a cancellation. The female manager told me that Booking.com should have informed me that per the online contract, Colony South Hotel reserves the right to charge a penalty. I explained to the female manager that I could understand a penalty, but I questioned the policy of charging the full price for a stay, that was cancelled within an hour and a half of making the reservation. The female manager stated that "at this time Colony South Hotel reserves the right not to issue a refund". I told the manager that they were not worth it and ended the call.
The professional ethics of this hotel is beyond questionable. Customer relations is very important, and it is my expressed opinion that this is one concept that Colony South Hotel has yet to embrace.
