April 18, 2016Revdex.com ***Re: ID #11254443 Dear Disputes, As mentioned in the complaint by our student, *** ***, the primary issue was that the school, Colorado School of Dental Assisting, had not received ***'s externship documentsProof
of completion of externship is required as part of the course and is required to receive a certificate of completion. On Wednesday, April 13, we received ***'s externship documents and have now issued a certificate of completion. Sincerely, GPeter N*** President

***,I believe we've offered you what we could when we last spoke This matter is not one that warrants a refund You received the education We even offered to train you in areas in which you felt you needed additional training, even sending our best and the favorite teacher of
hundreds of students to your class, and still you are unsatisfied I'm sorry, we cannot offer anything more than this

I attended the Colorado School of Dental Assisting in (August to January) I was unable to pay tuition on time and I'm thankful the school agreed to an extensionTuition was to be paid in full by October however I wasn't fully paid until January I was told that they were having problems receiving my externship papers from the office I worked forIve been communicating with the Director of Admissions at the school and the lead dental assistant for the officeThe assistant says she has sent my information quite a few times however the Director says she has never received them and its been like this since JanuaryThis is stunting my ability to find a full time job in the field for months nowI show up to interviews with no license and other interviewees have their correct documentation which makes me think I won't get the job because they can provide proof of education and I cant

I attended this school to obtain a certification in dental assistingI paid $for this educationThe education was a joke because we were read everything out of an outdated textbook and were given the test to study from before we actually took itWe were not clinically shown what what she have beenWe were told that we would get a bleaching kit after graduation worth $The kit we received maybe cost $if your going high not to mention we had to make our own bleaching trayWe had a main instructor who was great to us but towards the end we had some other instructors come in who would literally yell at us and pick fights with usI have never been in such an unprofessional environment in my lifeI would not have gone to this school had I known it would be this horribleThe school is withholding my entire classes certifications and will not let us have themWe all know for a fact that we passed due to our scores on every assignment and test and there is no reason they sh

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I disagree that my concerns do not warrant a refundI have attached the letter that I ori***lly emailed the school regarding my concernsThe school is saying that I received an education that most graduates are happy withI am not happy with itI completed the week course and it was not an education that gives you any idea of what you are to expect in a real jobThe text book may be a recent edition but the information within the textbook is outdated or doesn't correspond with the curriculumI did not begin my internship any earlier than was suggested by the schoolThe school informed us to begin our internships after week six which is when I beganIf they are telling students to start their internships after week six then they should make sure their curriculum doesn't make the student look like an it to a possible employerRegardless of the fact that the teacher who caused a lot of issues has been dismissed, the situations we had to endure were unacceptable for an educational institutionBetween the combination of the horrible education and staffing issues and disrespect from staff, I feel like that definitely warrants a refundWhen the "star" teacher came in to evaluate us, we excelled because we knew everything that was taught to usThe problem is that we were not taught enoughIn addition to that, the star teacher was extremely rude and treated us like we were stupid and after evaluating us, she ignored our section of the class for the remainder of the class periodThat poor treatment alone should warrant a refund but the school disagrees and never apologized for their staff's poor behaviorI now work for an amazing dentist who has taught me everything I need to know and teaches me more than the school ever didThat is the reason I declined coming back and having hands on skill practice with the school, in addition to not wanting to be around the people in that business that made me feel like garbageThe school is claiming that they can't seem to make me happyThat's completely trueI am extremely unhappy and disgusted at what this school is proclaiming to be an education.
Regards,

session that is more convenient, and we can apply the difference to that session.  Regarding the instructor, she is new and was a little nervous, but she is well trained, competent and we are confident she will prove to be an asset to our School.

We do not feel [redacted]'s experience warrants a refund.  She received an education that most of our graduates are happy with.  Our textbook is the most recent edition, and it is just a tool for learning.  Most of the learning is hands on learning and has little to do with the classroom and more to do with hands on practice in our dental operatories.  [redacted] did her externship very early in her session, which we do not recommend, so it is no wonder that she did not know how to do many of the dental assisting procedures yet.  [redacted]'s teacher had issues with tardiness and communication, and was thus late a couple of times and did not show up one evening thinking the other teacher was covering for her.  She has since been dismissed.  However, we do not feel this warrants a full refund.  That action is reserved in the event of canceling a class or a student dropping.  [redacted] received her full education.  After speaking to [redacted] we organized a day where our star teacher from another location, who is loved by all students and hiring dentists, went to [redacted]'s class to evaluate that class and make sure they received the education we intended on giving them.  She found that they had in fact received the education even though customer service was not at 100%.  [redacted] complained that she felt ill-treated, etc, when Tammy, the star teacher went to evaluate her class.  It seems we cannot please [redacted] except by providing a refund, which we do not feel is indicated in this case. We've offered to have her come back and practice the skills in which she felt she lacked knowledge.  She declined with insulting language.  We feel we cannot make [redacted] happy.
