RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Colordyne sold me the equipment. They trained us. For them to say that we did not do out homework and proper due diligence is absurd since they willingly took the money from us without question. All training we had was provided by Colordyne so if we did not do something right then it is because they failed. Not us. I have MANY emails where they could not resolve our issues and had no ideaWhy we were having the issues we were having by their own admission. Per your letter dated 2/1/2017, please accept this letter as written verification of our position as it relates to the complaint filed against Colordyne Technologies, LLC with operations at 3275 Intertech Drive, Ste 100 Brookfield, WI 53045. Mr. [redacted] is the owner and operator of a Label...

Converting business in Sarasota Florida called NADCO. A business partner of ours, Aztech Converting in Tempe Arizona, sold NADCO a label printing system which included a print engine from Colordyne Technologies. The print engine which we manufacturer is a high speed digital print solution for label converters who have very specific short run print jobs which can be more cost effectively produced digitally versus the traditional method of flexographic printing. To understand the nature of the problem, you must first understand the specifics of Digital Print Technology within the Label and Tag Space. Digital, has only exist for 15-20 years in this market. Multiple vendors have digital products, each have strengths and weaknesses. Colordyne utilizes a waterfall print head technology developed by Memjet Technologies. The Memjet print head strengths are the industry’s highest resolution 1600 x 1375, fastest speed 500 fpm and best print quality. Its weaknesses are Aqueous based ink which is not good for durable print applications and its 1 pico-liter print head aperture requires a very clean environment. Also, the system is water based which works best when running continuously. Air, even clean, is the enemy of the press. Mr. [redacted] and Aztech did not engage Colordyne during the sales/purchasing process. In our six years of operations and with nearly 500 printers sold, NADCO was the only customer who never visited our corporate office, never asked for samples to be run, never requested a cost analysis to determine the viability of a cost to print model. Mr. [redacted], simply saw a brochure, listened to a sales person, and purchased the system. During the nearly 4 years of operation, it was clear that Mr. [redacted] did not do his homework. Mr. [redacted] made several decisions which directly impacted his ability to successfully use this system. 1. The first mistake he made was his reluctance to alter the print job to maximize the throughput. Mr. [redacted] insisted on running the labels configured in a 5 across layout. This setup limited the speed the press could operate down to 30 fpm. The laser die cutter incorporated with the solution was the limiting factor. As our printer does not like to operate under 150 fpm and works best above 200 fpm, his decision directly contributed to the poor print quality. In fact, we produced the same labels in two separate passes, printing first and die cutting second and the work was acceptable. If Mr. [redacted] would have allowed us to run the labels 2 across, we could have met his expectations. 2. The second mistake he made was operating a machine which manufactured “painters tape” directly next to our machine. This other manufacturing process created a film of extremely fine dust that covered the entire facility. It was so bad, that a heating unit on the roof had to be replaced due to the dust clogging the buildings air filtration system. Later, a specific air filtration system was installed for the other machine to control the dust. This dust, was extremely detrimental to our printer as it covers the material prior to print and was attracted to the wet printhead when uncapped. (Note: It should be noted that most companies construct a specific room for its digital printer and avoid simply placing in the middle of a manufacturing area) Over the years of service, our technical team work diligently to support the customer. At one point, Mr. [redacted] was informed by me that he is not an ideal candidate for our technology as his environment and limited use of our product are detrimental to achieving best performance. Mr. [redacted] was also advised that our average customers were consuming 6x the ink as he was in an effort to illustrate the lack of system use. Mr. [redacted] did not believe me. Although Colordyne is not responsible for this company’s poor decision making, we are attempting to purchase this machine so we can get it into the hands of a business that can truly benefit from it. As a small company, we do not have the luxury to provide printers to business that do utilize them to the fullest. We are a business who requires the sale of ink to its customers. If you have any further questions, please contact me at [redacted]. Sincerely, Andrew W Matter VP and GM Colordyne Technologies, LLC.
