This is being written as a response to the case/complaint filed by a student regarding release of her transcriptPer the email requesting a response, this text will omit any reference to information
that could potentially identify the specific student in question
The student's complaint revolves around a policy regarding payments on accounts that have been placed for collectionsIn cases where a student resolves their collections status by paying in full (original balance and the related collections fees) with a check, the collections-related hold remains on their account for business days following that paymentThe intent of this policy was to address numerous past cases where a student would make payment by check and receive their official transcript; shortly after that the check would be returned due to non-sufficient funds and or a stop paymentThis 10-day hold policy was designed to directly address that
Our hope is a student is never surprised by their standing, and we post information regarding this 10-day hold on our website at *** The specific text related to this policy is as follows:
If a student in collections pays with a personal check, he or she will have to wait ten days before being cleared to register or receive a transcript
In this student's particular case, the 10-day period has elapsed and her transcript has been released

I am rejecting this response because: clearly they aren't accepting responsibility for there mistake that is their faultColumbia College just started this whole campaign that's it's not about the money it's about the students..well clearly that is not the caseThey are not accepting responsibility for their mistake and is making a great student pay the price.?
