Comenity Capital Bank Reviews (1308)

Thanks so very much for help, the issues has been resolved, Commenty Bank

Enclosed please find bill (sorry it is so messy but I was writing as I was discussing on phone). As you can see the item was $19.98 and I paid $15.98 when returning the item. They had sent it in a mailing envelope and I was told the $15.98 was the fee for returning it in the same envelope even through the envelope had a return sticker. I think this is unethical.

from the corporate office of Haband, and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.   You state in your complaint that you are disputing the balance on the above-referenced account and you have not received any merchandise.  You further state that although you thought you had canceled your order and closed your account, you continue to receive statements.  We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this matter may have caused you.    Please understand that Comenity Capital Bank and Haband are two separate entities.  Comenity Capital Bank is responsible for addressing questions related to Haband credit card accounts, while Haband is responsible for handling matters related to sales, merchandise processing, returns, shipping, and merchandise quality.    A purchase of $48.95 posted to the account on May 15, 2015.  Haband has confirmed that this purchase belonged to a different customer, and was incorrectly applied to your account.  This purchase was returned; as such, a return credit of $47.42 posted to the account on September 2, 2015, and a credit of $8.97 posted to the account on September 3, 2015.   The credits appeared on your billing statement that was issued on September 6, 2015, and resulted in a credit balance of $7.44.  Because the purchase and return were not made by you, the credit balance was reversed on September 25, 2015.  Your account balance, as of today’s date, is zero.            Haband also confirmed a mail order purchase of $67.18 was received, with a check payment of $67.18 included with your order.  The mail order purchase was canceled per your request, and as a result, on July 24, 2015, a refund check of $67.18 was sent to you from Haband.  We have enclosed a copy of the cashed refund check for your records.             Please be assured, no negative payment information was reported to the national credit-reporting agencies as a result of this matter.  The account was closed, per your request, on August 21, 2015.    We hope you find this information helpful.  If you have any further questions, please contact me at ###-###-####, ext. Dear [redacted]   Comenity Capital Bank (Bank) has received your correspondence regarding the above-referenced account. Comenity Capital Bank issues the Overstock Store credit card account. We are here to answer your questions and assist with your concerns.   We...

understand from your complaint that you purchased a complete shower enclosure from Overstock.com. You state the specifications did not show the width of the entry door, which caused an issue as you were unable to get through the door. You state after further communication with Overstock.com, the supplier sent you the parts to rectify the matter. After the second instillation, you were further dissatisfied and requested Overstock.com to remove the shower enclosure and refund your money. They refused to take it back. You state after receiving collection calls for six months, you requested to pay $500.00 to settle the debt; however, this was rejected. You further state that the balance is at $1,636.00, including interest and late fees, and has ruined your credit. You suggest that Overstock.com write off this product failure and settle for a modest fee. I am happy to share my findings.   Please note that Overstock.com and Comenity Capital Bank are two separate entities. The Bank issues and is responsible for addressing questions related to your credit card account. Overstock.com is responsible for handling matters related to sales, merchandise processing, returns and shipping.   Bank records indicate the account was opened March 21, 2015. Use of the account, or failure to close the account within 30 days of receiving the Credit Card Agreement, indicates acceptance of the terms of the agreement, including the assessment of any finance charges and fees.   The last purchase posted to the account in the amount of $52.48 on November 9, 2015. The last payment posted to the account in the amount of $52.00 on May 16, 2016. When you attempted to settle the balance on August 7, 2016, the settlement offer was $1,109.00; you declined this offer. Due to no payments made for six consecutive months, the account wrote off on January 9, 2017, with a balance of $1,789.28. The account was then sold on January 23, 2017, to [redacted]. To set up suitable payment arrangements, please contact them directly at ###-###-####.   We contacted Overstock.com, on your behalf, regarding this matter. They advised that they received notification from you in May 2016, indicating that the item was different than what was online. They confirmed they attempted to reach out, however; they were unable to reach you via phone or email. We suggest contacting Overstock.com directly regarding this matter at ###-###-####.   We understand your concern regarding your credit report. We have verified we are reporting the account correctly to the credit reporting agencies as we are required by law.     I hope you have found this information to be helpful. In your letter, give us the following information:? Account information: Your name and account number? Dollar amount: The dollar amount of the suspected error? The charge in question may remain on your statement, and we may continue to charge you interest on that amount. But, if we determine that we made a mistake, you will not have to pay the amount in question or any interest or other fees related to that amount.? While you do not have to pay the amount in question, you are responsible for the remainder of the balance.? We can apply any unpaid amount against your credit limit.Your Rights If You Are Dissatisfied With Your Credit Card PurchasesIf you are dissatisfied with the goods or services that you have purchased with your credit card, and you have tried in good faith to correct the problem with the merchant, you may have the right not to pay the remaining amount due on the purchase. To use this right, all of the following must be true:1. The purchase must have been made in your home state or within 100 miles of your current mailing address, and the purchase price must have been more than $50.00. (Note: Neither of these is necessary if your purchase was based on an advertisement we mailed to you, or if we own the company that sold you the goods or services.)2. You must have used your credit card for the purchase. Purchases made with cash advances from an ATM or with a check that accesses your credit card account do not qualify.3. You must not yet have fully paid for the purchase. What this means for you is, if your dispute was submitted more than 60 days after the first billing statement on which the disputed charge appeared and you have fully paid for your purchase, you are not eligible to receive a credit or refund. Since you fully paid for the purchase at the time you submitted your dispute, you had no remaining amount due that we can forgive. We apologize for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you. We apologize for the inconvenience this matter may have caused you.   Please be advised, that payments must be made by the payment due date and before 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), if payments are being mailed. If your payment is being made online or by phone, payments must be made by 8:00 p.m. ET. For additional information regarding cut off times, please refer to page two of your billing statements.   Please be assured that your payment for $27.00 that was processed by phone on February 21, 2017, was credited as a same day payment and you were not assessed a late fee; however, the payment posted to your account on February 22, 2017.   Your payment of $27.00 made on January 21, 2017, was returned due to insufficient funds and you were advised of this information on your February 2017 billing statement.   The Bank is willing to remove one late fee in an eighteen month time period, as a courtesy. Our records indicate that a late fee credit in the amount of $25.00 was issued to your account on March 21, 2016. Also, a partial late fee credit of $17.00 was issued on your account on June 27, 2016. Unfortunately, the Bank is unwilling to make any additional adjustments to your account for the previously assessed late fees.   In regard to your claim that a payment did not post due to a Bank error; we are unaware of an error that occurred in which your payment would not have posted. If you believe an error occurred on the part of Comenity Capital Bank, please provide more details so we can research.  Regarding payment cut off times, please understand the Bank offers multiple ways to make a payment by the cut off time.   Online: Online payments submitted before 8:00 p.m. ET can be credited to your account the same-day. Online payments submitted after 8:00 p.m. ET will be credited the following day (or on your future scheduled payment date). Please note that it may take up to two business days to complete the financial transfer from your personal bank account to your GameStop PowerUp Rewards account.   Mail: Send your payment and payment coupon in the envelope that came with your billing statement. We recommend allowing a week for the payment to arrive. If you’re a paperless customer, print out a payment stub on the online account management site so your payment is processed as quickly as possible.   Phone: If you need to make a same-day payment, you may call us at the phone number on the back of your billing statement before 8:00 p.m. ET to speak to a customer care representative. A fee may apply to same-day, expedited payments made with the representative.   The above information and more can be found by visiting: http://www.comenity.net/comenity/UsingAccount/CustomerResourceCenter   I hope you have found this information to be helpful. Dear Ms. [redacted] We received your complaint, addressed to the Revdex.com, regarding your Petland credit card account.  Comenity Capital Bank issues Petland credit card accounts, and we respond to all account-related questions.  Your complaint was forwarded to my attention, and I...

appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We understand your concerns regarding the interest that was applied to your Petland account, and apologize for the lack of information that you were provided by the Petland retail sales associates regarding your promotional plans. Furthermore, you state that you did not receive any reminders from the Bank in regard to the finance charges that would be added to your account.  You are requesting to have the amount of $447.25 be credited, as the minimum due was misleading. Please understand that Comenity Capital Bank and Petland are two separate entities.  The Bank is responsible for addressing questions related to the credit card account, while David’s Bridal is responsible for handling matters related to sales, merchandise processing, returns and shipping. After a thorough review of the account, Bank records indicate that a purchase of $1,500.00 was charged to the account on April 18, 2015.  The purchase was placed on a 12-month promotional plan with deferred interest, 1% payment required plan, scheduled to end on April 18, 2016. As agreed at the time of purchase, no interest would be assessed to the account should the balance be paid in full by the promotional plan end date.  On April 18, 2016, the above-referenced promotional plan was not paid in full; therefore, on May 12, 2016, the accrued finance charge of $447.25 was applied to the account. Per your Credit Card Agreement, repayment is to be no less than $25.00 per month.  With the promotion plan, your minimum monthly payment was set at the lowest available.  Please find enclosed a copy of the CCA for you review. Information about promotional plans is provided to our accountholders on their monthly billing statements in the “details of your plans” section.  Specifically, accountholders are instructed that should a balance not be paid in full, accrued finance charges dating back to the original date of purchase will be assessed to the account.  Enclosed, please find a copy of the monthly billing statements for your Petland credit card account for your review. We apologize if you felt mislead or taken advantage of in any way.  Comenity Capital Bank is committed to providing the best customer service and is disappointed when a customer feels that this standard was not met. We hope you find this information to be helpful.  Should you have any further questions, please contact me directly at ###-###-#### (TDD/TTY ###-###-####).  I will be happy to assist you. Sincerely, Diamond L[redacted]
