Comfort Inn and Suites Columbus Downtown- OH508 Reviews (6)

Sorry but the customer asking for refund did not have any proof that we owe them money. Katie was fired of obvious reasons and I cannot take her word for it. We are the new management and the old management who handled your reservation is gone.Sorry for the inconvenience. And thank you for your... business.

The [redacted] Wedding group stayed with us 8/24 to 8/26. The original contract was quoted at $139.00 + tax per night. After that we had some issue making reservations under the group block because we had new GSR wasn’t fully aware how to make reservations under a group block. As of inconvenience I...

offered them discount on already discounted rate was $125+ tax per night. And also agreed to remove parking and hotel service fees. I personally talked to Mrs. [redacted] on phone couple if times to resolve the issue and I mentioned it several times it is per night rate. It was a busy weekend and regular rates were averaging around $179+tax per night. I don’t know why Mrs. [redacted] thought it is $125+tax for both nights combined? That is $62.50+tax which is impossible at this location, right by German village even on slowest of the days. I do have proof of contract and individual signed registration cards and folios attached to this. I’m sorry that happened on your wedding day, and Thank you for your business.

I am rejecting this response because:I have spoken on the phone to Mr. [redacted] once, not multiple times. He did not at any point in that one conversation on August 11th state the room rate was per night. Had he said that, I would have cancelled then and there. Every other time I tried contacting him or his superior, I was told that neither was available. When I made the group block reservation, I was quoted by Misty (who apparently doesn't work there any longer) $139 TOTAL for both nights together. Never once did she say the total price she was quoting was per night, and regardless of the contract Mr. [redacted] has attached, he is wrong. I asked her on multiple occasions if the rate was for both nights and she assured me that it was. Misty may be gone now, but I am not responsible for what Misty quoted. The group rate contract does NOT in any place mention a per night rate. It breaks out the number of rooms that I asked to place on hold for the block over a two night period and lists each type of room for $139. Again, it does not state per night. Even though Mr. [redacted] may think that it should be common knowledge that all contracts are per night, your contract must clearly state as such. Furthermore, the contract (as we can see by Mr. [redacted]'s attachment) was never executed by the hotel representative or myself, deeming it worthless. The contracts that that have been produced for my guests were signed by them in good faith that they were receiving the rate I was quoted. They cannot be held responsible for lies that were told in an effort to make more money. Additionally, room rates, as I am currently looking at the website, are $80/night. This would mean that 2 nights would be $160. And, given that a discount is usually given to room block reservations, it would make sense for the total cost for two nights together to be reduced to $139. The logic that Mr. [redacted] is trying to use, just does not add up. I could book a room right now for one night and pay $80 dollars for a Thursday night (which was one of the days of the week I had reserved). Why then, would I agree to pay $139 for the same weeknight? It makes no sense. If $139 was the nightly rate, my family could have stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton, a much nicer hotel, where that price could reasonably be quoted. Mr. [redacted]'s new front desk associate he speaks of or someone else certainly found a way to charge my mother's credit card for $1200 for 3 rooms over the course of 2 days. Even if the cost of the rooms had been $139 per night, which they were not, $1200 is exorbitant and much more than the cost of those rooms. Funny enough, that same new front desk associate said their records don't show those charges, and those invoices weren't attached. That's fine though, because my mother has since obtained her credit card statements where the amounts have been charged.Lastly, I need to mention the sheer disregard and disrespect this "business" has for its patrons. I received no phone calls from them after filing a complaint with Choice Hotels; where they are required to respond within 72 hour of that complaint being filed. I have continued to try to rectify this situation, but have gotten no response from anyone. I believe my father has even tried contacting them. He has maybe been able to speak to Mr. [redacted] or his superior once, and they promised they would be calling me. I never received that call. Not only did I have to deal with the issue where they booked and charged my sister for her stay in July (when the room block reservation was clearly made for August) two weeks prior to my wedding and had to worry about whether or not my guests would even have rooms considering the unprofessional and disorganized nature in which this "business" is run, I dealt with it again...ON MY WEDDING NIGHT. How incredibly apathetic of Mr. [redacted] and his superior! I cannot understand why they continue to pretend like they have a leg to stand on when they have obviously been implementing fraudulent business practices. They are outright stealing from consumers. The last thing I want to say is, all I want is the price I was quoted $139 for BOTH nights together for all of my guests. I am not asking for anything free or for anything beyond what I was told I would be given. That "courtesy" discount really doesn't even make a different at this point given the surmounting inconveniences that have been thrust upon us. I am appalled at the lack of humanity these two men are showing. To take advantage during a time that should be remembered as the happiest in my life, is atrocious. I have to relive their deplorable behavior every time I think about my experience with them during my wedding. Regards,
[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: We spoke to several individuals at the hotel in the month after we left and the credit clearly showed up in the system as we were told several times.  They even tried to credit us over the phone and the manager said he was unable too and a check would be sent.  Let's stop the games, kindly send a check for the night we did not stay which is in your system.  If not our last resort is legal action.
Regards,
[redacted]

Still I'll reject your rejection. The rates changes every night and it was a busy night you stayed at, yes we go low as $80 but we also go high as $250. The regular rate on that night was $179+tax per night. And misty is not with our company anymore, though I did confirm with her and she told me it was per night rate that was given. Thank You.
