On April 17,2015 said guest came to check into our hotel. Upon arrival, he signed (as well as all guests do) a registration card stating that if smoking evidence or any damages occurred during his...
stay(since we are a non-smoking facility) he would be charged $125.00. Upon check out on the 19th of April, the housekeeper went into the room and smelled smoke. At that time she informed the housekeeping supervisor who went into the room and took pictures of the evidence which were in the form of ashes. The housekeeping supervisor then filled out a "Smoking evidence" report and forwarded it to me along with the pictures she took of the ashes in the room. I then composed a letter to the guest and forwarded to his email along with the pictures of the evidence. I also, at that time, sent him a new copy of his receipt showing that we had charged his credit card for the damages so he would have it for his records.

My wife and myself as well as my 5 year old Grandson are NON smokers the fact that the evidence showed up after we were gone is pretty convienent. we should have had the opportunity
to do the walk thru with them instead they do it days after. This is the only hotel that I have stayed at that has done something like this and I stay at plenty of hotels as I am a federal employee,my credit card company has told me that they are removing the charge and I am waiting for next statement to verify this, if they want further evidence that we are NON smokers is our Life Insurance policy which clearly states this
