We are in receipt of the complaint referenced above.  
Guest checked into the hotel using a debit card.  Hotel policy (posted) is to charge the debit card in full at check-in.  Guests using debit cards are also charged a $100 security deposit (posted) at check in which is refunded by the hotel at checkout assuming there are no damages.
 
The amount in dispute was an authorization held by her bank.  This is after she was offered and accepted a 10% discount.   Despite that, she made this complaint.
The security deposit was refunded at checkout as indicated on the attachment above.
This complaint relates solely to [redacted]’s inability to understand that banks hold authorizations of funds in excess of the amount charged.  This information is posted at our Front Desk so guests are forewarned of bank policies on debit cards.  The hotel does not hold funds in excess of the charges.  The hotel releases security deposits upon checkout.  [redacted] mistakenly holds the Hotel accountable for her bank’s policy regarding authorizations.
I assume by this time the authorization has timed out, and no longer affects [redacted].  In any event, the issue is solely between [redacted] and her bank, the Hotel acted in accordance with policy, which is posted in a public space at the front desk.

My wife and I stayed at the Comfort Inn in King Of Prussia for one night, one night. At no time was I told or informed in writing that they would charge us for one night and put a hold on our card for two additional nights they tied up $111 and $113. So for less than a 10 hour stay we had we were charged $112 and currently still have $224 hold on our card. We checked in on 06/21/2015 it is now 06/26/2015 and we need that money and it could still take five more days. I can not afford to let someone hold $224 for ten days. If we were told this UPFRONT when we checked in we would have stayed somewhere else. They should be forced to let everyone know in writing this is their practice. Again I do not have the financial resources for someone to hold $224 for services I did not receive.
