Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted] I have been employed as a RN fulltime continuously for years at our hospital I'm an exemplary employee with excellent evaluations I have NOT nor will ever ask anyone to falsely documents or do insurance fraud! As I have communicated MANY times, my father wasn't receiving the care he was supposed to The management of Comfort Keepers chose to believe a problem employee with performance issues and a secretary that came up with stories she continued to change over the daughter of a client No one from management ever set foot in my parents home!!!! They have no clue to what my Father's needs were The secretary accused my Mother of running errands with the sitter My Mother is home bound, wears oxygen, has nebulizer treatments, walks with a cane/walker, and only leaves the house for Drappointments Again, Comfort Keepers had NO idea They never went in and assessed the needs for themselves They just believed problem employees Wouldn't the correct thing to do for the sake of the client be to go in the home and assess the needs? Also, they received the documentation from a RN in Daddy's folder stating his needs when they took over Care Companions Again, I have documentation from different physicians and can get documentation from Daddy's cardiologist and nephrologist also if need be He has had a home RN since and they can document his needs as well as home physical and occupational therapy He has a CNA that comes twice a week and gets him in the shower There are many other ADLs besides showering! They even have my father as ***" in this email This is an example of how they pay attention to detail I have communicated with [redacted] with [redacted] regarding all of this for several weeks now She has a copy of the Letter from The Office Of Inspector General with the State of KY where they found my claims substantiated with their on site visit at Comfort Keepers and a copy of the Revdex.com letter closing the case after months because Comfort Keepers wouldn't respond She has copies of all documentation from Daddy's physicians I spoke with her today about [redacted] sending info to [redacted] I told her I would welcome her at anytime in my parents' home to verify their needs She said this wouldn't be necessary and they didn't have any questions of my parents' needs They believe the documentation from the doctors and the documents I have voluntarily shared with them from the beginning! The Insurance Company doesn't believe that I , the physicians, or any of Daddy's care team are collaborating on claims I volunteered ALL of this from the beginning, which I wouldn't do if I was trying to falsify anything! Comfort Keepers doesn't want to take responsibility/liability for a problem employee that no longer works for them They are only interested in the business side, not the welfare of their elderly clients I only posted on Facebook when the case was closed because they didn't respond after months and I had the letter from the OIG I only did it to warn others so no one would have to go through what my family has had to go through Only then, did they choose to respond to you They responded my making allegations against me and my elderly parents! This says a lot about their character They need to own up to making the mistake of making allegations without setting foot in my parents' home and knowing their needs Don't accuse the vulnerable elderly!!! I have documentation from several sources documenting their needs I'm including the Letter from the OIG There is no disputing this documentation and again they Never set foot in my parents' home to see for themselves!!! Comfort Keepers please do the right thing and provide what I requested in the original complaint and stop vilifying the elderly It is the right thing to do [redacted]

I really do not know what else to do here besides send you the letter (attached) we had to send to their insurance company I really did not want to get into this, but plain and simple its insurance fraud We would not falsify insurance claims for her triggering a fit from the clients daughter [redacted] Owner

Interesting that this business didn't respond to the Revdex.com numerous times for months. Then responded after the case was closed and I posted information for people to be alert to this issue on FB. This business employed a problem employee that had performance issues. Comfort Keepers bought out Care Companions which was owned and operated by a RN and an APRN. The RN had been in my parents home on numerous visits and had documented assessments of what care my Dad required. These were in his folder that went to Comfort Keepers I have documentation form three of my Dad's physicians stating what his needs were and what help he required. I can provide all of those to you for verification and you can call the physicians to verify also. This problem employee worked for Care Companions and I didn't know she had issues with not documenting completely until Comfort Keepers bought them. The RN from Care Companions told me that she was always having to get on her for not documenting
When this employee went to Comfort Keepers they didn't stay on her. She just told them Daddy didn't require those things is why she didn't document them. I was told when Comfort Keepers bought out Care Companions EVERYTHING would stay the same. With Care Companions, they submitted the documetnation to the Long term insurance and received what insurance paid and billed for the remainder. So, I assumed that was continuing. My Mother pays the bills and is slipping some. She is from the generation, you pay a bill and doesn't ask questions. After months she made a comment about a bill from Comort Keepers. I got to looking and she was paying 100% of the bill. When I called *** reagarding this, he said they didn't deal with the insurance. We had to receive the insurance reimbursements. No one had told us this, EVERYTHING was to stay the same. So, we were already months behind on this. This is when we discovered this employee wasn't charting completely. She knew what she was supposed to do, her previous employeer had told her MANY times and there was a list on the refrigerator. My Mother even asked her if she was documetning everything and she said yes. *** was very condescending and tried to blow me off. The secretary in that office talked about things on the phone to me that wasn't her place to talk about and weren't true. She would change her stories on who she heard what from
Comfort Keepers hired a VP, *** ***. Then I had to start all over again telling him all of the issues. What I don't understand, if a family member calls and tells you there is documentation from a RN, physicians, and a list on the refrigerator door and your employee is telling you those things aren't required, wouldn't you make a visit to the home and assess the situation? This was only offered after 5-months into this. By that time, I had had enough of them and we found wonderful private sitters.
I reported them to the Office of Inspector General with the State of KY. They did an on site visit and during that investigation found there was NO documentation of my complaints or any grevience procedure. They were issued a citation and had to do a preformance improvement plan and receive anothr visit by the OIG. So, if *** is saying they have conversations with my complaints documented, he is the one committing fraudulant documentaion. Because th OIG with the State of KY will disagree with that and I have a letter from them I can send you as proof
I have a RN friend that has Comfort Keepers for her Mom since last summer. Comfort Keepers set up with her long term insurance when they first started service. So, I was lied to because they just don't want to "mess" with the insurance. Also, this client started receiving EOBs from her insurance where they were paying Comfort Keepers. The client was still paying 100% of the bills as if no insurance was being received. When they called and talked to ***, he said "no we aren't receiving any insurance". They told him they had the EOBs to prove it, then he had to back track. So, sounds like that is insurance fraud!!!!
Please let me know if you need the documentation from physicians, their phone numbers, a RN, and the letter from the OIG with the State of KYI will be very happy to provide them to you!!
Again, don't you think this is so interesting that you tried to contact them many times since my compalint was filed Feband they wouldn't respond? The case had to be closedThen when I warn people to be alert to this on FB, you get a reply!!
Just an FYI - My Dad was just in the hospital for weeks and My Mom is homebound on home oxygen and nebulizer treatmetnsThey have home health RNs, Home therapists, and round the clock sitters nowThank goodness we don't have to deal with the management at Comfort Keepers and have wonderful private sitters!

I really do not know what else to do here besides send you the letter (attached) we had to send to their insurance company.  I really did not want to get into this, but plain and simple its insurance fraud.  We would not falsify insurance claims for her triggering a fit from the clients daughter.

I have been employed as a RN fulltime continuously for 31 years at our hospital.  I'm an exemplary employee with excellent evaluations.  I have NOT nor will ever ask anyone to falsely documents or do insurance fraud!  As I have communicated MANY times, my father wasn't receiving the care he was supposed to.  The  management of Comfort Keepers chose to believe a problem employee with performance issues and a secretary that came up with stories she continued to change over the daughter of a client.
No one from management ever set foot in my parents home!!!!  They have no clue to what my Father's needs were.  The secretary accused my Mother of running errands with the sitter.  My Mother is home bound, wears oxygen, has nebulizer treatments, walks with a cane/walker, and only leaves the house for Dr. appointments.  Again, Comfort Keepers had NO idea.  They never went in and assessed the needs for themselves.  They just believed problem employees.  Wouldn't the correct thing to do for the sake of the client be to go in the home and assess the needs?  Also, they received the documentation from a RN in Daddy's folder stating his needs when they took over Care Companions.
Again, I have documentation from 3 different physicians and can get documentation from Daddy's cardiologist and nephrologist also if need be.  He has had a home RN since 2007 and they can document his needs as well as home physical and occupational therapy.  He has a CNA that comes twice a week and gets him in the shower.  There are many other ADLs besides showering!
They even have my father as [redacted]" in this email.  This is an example of how they pay attention to detail.
I have communicated with [redacted] with [redacted] regarding all of this for several weeks now.  She has a copy of the Letter from The Office Of Inspector General with the State of KY where they found my claims substantiated with their on site visit at Comfort Keepers and a copy of the Revdex.com letter closing the case after 3 months because Comfort Keepers wouldn't respond.  She has copies of all documentation from Daddy's physicians.  I spoke with her today about [redacted] sending info to [redacted].  I told her I would welcome her at anytime in my parents' home to verify their needs.  She said this wouldn't be necessary and they didn't have any questions of my parents' needs.  They believe the documentation from the doctors and the documents I have voluntarily shared with them from the beginning!.  The Insurance Company doesn't believe that I , the physicians, or any of Daddy's care team are collaborating on false claims.  I volunteered ALL of this from the beginning, which I wouldn't do if I was trying to falsify anything!
Comfort Keepers doesn't want to take responsibility/liability for a problem employee that no longer works for them.  They are only interested in the business side, not the welfare of their elderly clients.
I only posted on Facebook when the case was closed because they didn't respond after 3 months and I had the letter from the OIG.  I only did it to warn others so no one would have to go through what my family has had to go through.  Only then, did they choose to respond to you.  They responded my making false allegations against me and my elderly parents!  This says a lot about their character.
They need to own up to making the mistake of making false allegations without setting foot in my parents' home and knowing their needs.  Don't accuse the vulnerable elderly!!!   I have documentation from several sources documenting their needs.  I'm including the Letter from the OIG.  There is no disputing this documentation and again they Never set foot in my parents' home to see for themselves!!!
Comfort Keepers please do the right thing and provide what I requested in the original complaint and stop vilifying the elderly.  It is the right thing to do.

I wanted to add one thing to my rejection of Comfort Keepers Response to above complaint. It is amazing how when they stopped sending the problem employee the fist part of October 2014, the second sitter gave appropriate care, documented correctly, and we got reimbursed by the insurance. So, if Comfort Keepers is saying he didn't need help with the ADLs and we were trying to commit insurance fraud, then are they saying this second sitter employed by them documented falsely and committed insurance fraud? Don't you find this very interesting?

We have been serving our region for over 10 years and we are very proud of that.  The reason we have been so successful is we are very honest, trustworthy, reliable, and we follow the laws to a T.  This particular client wanted us to falsify documents to submit to her parents insurance...

company so she can get reimbursed for service, otherwise known as insurance fraud. We had numerous documented conversations with this person advising them we do don’t operate or company in such manner.

Thanks,
