Comfort Laser Clinics Reviews (11)

Unfortunately, the Revdex.com only allows for a limited space to write the complaint, so I wasn't able to give a complete, detailed account of my experience with CLCI did not come to get retreated because, before I came, I asked--- and requested the reply in writing--- if you would consider such re-treatment as if it were the first time you treated my toenails, since the original first treatment had not only failed but made the fungal infection worse on the affected toenails and infected those that were not initially infected; and, also, so that I would still have the benefit of getting the second treatment after months if (only "if", as per your "limited guarantee") the "NEW, HEALTHY tissue was not completely clear"Otherwise, you wanted to charge me 50% of the present day cost of treatment after months of the initial treatment, which I thought would be unfair for me to pay since I never saw any sign of healthy tissue at all to begin and experienced worsening conditions instead, when CLC promised healthy toenails within 4-months with only ONE treatmentIf CLC did not agree with what I was requesting, I asked for CLC to decide, and let me know, also IN WRITING, how they would mend my grievanceThe only reply I ever received was a very rude phone call and a short one-sentence letter from the then president of CLC telling me that CLC had no legal obligation to give me anything in writing After I insisted with several other letters, including one with pictures of my feet for CLC to see the extent of the infection, and later requested a refund or I would file a complaint, I never received further replySomething else I did not have the space to explain was that only after I underwent the laser treatment, and only after I was explained, and was asked to sign, the "Nail Fungus Aftercare instructions", was such "limited guarantee" disclosed to me, which was very well and inconspicuously placed in a paragraph within the aftercare instructionsThank you for offering treatments; however, I'm afraid that with the condition of my toenails at the present time I doubt three treatments would suffice since your treatment failed when the toenails were not so affectedWhen I was treated on May 29, only the big toenail of my left foot was badly affected, which had the nail bed exhibiting about an 1/of an inch thickness due to infected tissue build up over a year period, as CLC was able to see at the time of the examination/consultationThe rest of the toenails had minor infection or no infection at all At the present time, such nail is now twice its thickness since the day of the treatment, about 1/inch thickness, and the rest of my toenails all show infection, with three other ones now exhibiting the same thickness as the first affected toenail had in That has been an excessive and accelerated rate of infection after the laser treatment in only a two-and-a-half year period! Such accelerated rate of infection I first noticed just two weeks after the treatement, which I reported to CLC immediatelyI would also highlight the fact that, at the time of the treatment, CLC refused to treat only the toenails that were visibly infected, telling me that they did not treat individual toenails and had to treat all toesAdditionally, I do not trust CLC anymore, and less so now that I'm aware that the laser equipment CLC used to treat my toenails had not been cleared by the FDA for the treatment of toenail fungus at the time that CLC treated me, and as of May 23, 2014, the equipment still had not been cleared, as per my contact with the FDAI believe that had you given me a prompt refund, which would have permitted me to seek proper treatment elsewhere, or perhaps, just perhaps, you had retreated in a timely manner, my toenails would be healthy today and we would have saved ourselves unnecessary hassleTherefore, as I have previously asked , I would like the immediate and full refund of the $I paid Thank you [redacted] * [redacted]

Re: ID # [redacted] On 3/27/I didn't purchase one treatment, but a procedure to get the advertised results of "total 100% removal." The reasons given to me for a second treatment on 4/28/and a third on 5/28/was that the treatments had not as yet shown much improvementThey stated that they treated me a third time free of charge, but the truth is that I was treated again because there was little improvement after treatmentsI was told to wait to months for a re-checkI called at the end of October and said that there had not been any improvement and I was told that another treatment would cost me $150.00, not free of charge as stated by the Laser Clinic.I said that I would not pay anymore money to get the results that I was supposed to already have I told them to have someone in charge call me back concerning a refund Approximately weeks later I got a phone call from the Laser Clinic that I would be given a different laser procedure with a different machine that was stronger free of charge I said that I would think about it, but set a tentative appointment for January 5, After seeing no visible improvement in my condition, I felt that the laser treatment process was not a successful procedure to get the advertised results I was worried what the stronger laser would do to me, so I called and canceled the appointment and again asked for a refund I wrote them a letter asking for a refund again because of no visible results and that and that if I did not hear from them in weeks that I would pursue my legal remedies in small claims court They stated that my medical condition compromised my blood flow and circulation I was never examined by the laser clinic nor did I ever submit any medical records concerning blood flow and circulation I was never made aware of any medical condition that would be increased by the treatmentsTo have a 4th treatment with a different stronger laser is not a solution because it may prove to be a danger to my health Since my complaint the laser clinic has stopped advertising the procedure and its results in the local newspapers Thank You, [redacted]

Unfortunately, the Revdex.com only allows for a limited space to write the complaint, so I wasn't able to give a complete, detailed account of my experience with CLC. I did not come to get retreated because, before I came, I asked--- and requested the reply in writing--- if you would consider such re-treatment as if it were the first time you treated my toenails, since the original first treatment had not only failed but made the fungal infection worse on the affected toenails and infected those that were not initially infected; and, also, so that I would still have the benefit of getting the second treatment after  6 months if (only "if", as per your "limited guarantee") the "NEW, HEALTHY tissue was not completely clear". Otherwise, you wanted to charge me 50%  of  the present day cost of treatment  after 12 months of the initial treatment, which I thought  would be unfair  for me to pay since  I never saw any sign of healthy tissue at all to begin and experienced worsening conditions instead, when CLC promised healthy toenails within 4-6 months with only ONE treatment. If CLC did not agree with what I was requesting, I asked for CLC to decide, and let me know, also IN WRITING, how they would mend my grievance. The only reply I ever received was a very rude phone call and a short one-sentence letter from the then president of CLC telling me that CLC had no legal obligation to give me anything in writing.  After  I insisted with several other letters, including one with  pictures of my feet for CLC to see the extent of the infection,  and later requested a refund or I would file a complaint, I never received further reply. Something else I did not have the space to explain was that only after I underwent the laser treatment, and only after I was explained, and was asked to sign, the "Nail Fungus Aftercare instructions", was such "limited guarantee" disclosed to me, which was very well and inconspicuously placed in a paragraph within the aftercare instructions. Thank you for offering 3 treatments; however, I'm afraid that with the condition of my toenails at the present time I doubt three treatments would suffice  since your treatment failed when the toenails were not so affected. When I was treated on May 29, 2012 only the big toenail of my left foot was badly affected, which had the nail bed exhibiting about an 1/16 of an inch thickness due to infected tissue build up over a 15 year period, as CLC was able to see at the time of the examination/consultation. The rest of the toenails had minor infection or no infection at all.   At the present time, such nail is now twice its thickness since the day of the treatment, about 1/8 inch thickness, and the rest of my toenails all show infection, with three other ones now exhibiting the same thickness as the first affected toenail had in 2012. That has been an excessive and accelerated rate of infection after the laser treatment in only a  two-and-a-half year period! Such accelerated rate of infection I first noticed just two weeks after the treatement, which I reported to CLC immediately. I would also highlight the fact that,  at the time of the treatment, CLC refused to treat only the toenails that were visibly infected, telling me that they did not treat individual toenails and had to treat all 10 toes. Additionally, I do not trust CLC anymore, and less so now that I'm aware  that the  laser equipment CLC used to treat my toenails had not been cleared by the FDA for the treatment of toenail fungus at the time that CLC treated me, and as of May 23, 2014, the equipment still had not been cleared, as per my contact with the FDA. I believe that had you given me a prompt refund, which would have permitted me to seek proper treatment elsewhere, or perhaps, just perhaps,  you had retreated in a timely manner, my toenails would be healthy today and we would have saved ourselves unnecessary hassle. Therefore,  as I have previously asked , I would like the immediate and full refund of the $625.00 I paid.   Thank you   [redacted]

13.3333px; font-family: Arial; background-color: transparent;">In regards to your email, we wanted to address every point you have made in an effort to help everyone understand each event:
Your email is in black, details from us are in blue. I am disappointed that Comfort Laser is unable to offer more to compensate for the lack of results received after spending thousands of dollars! Like I stated on the phone with you, I saw very minimal results after doing exilis on my upper arms and back rolls. The technician was unable to achieve temperature above 40-41 degrees on most of the sessions. She and another tech informed me that the temperature needs to be over 42 degrees to achieve fat destruction. So, I feel that I did not get good results, because I was not able to achieve over 42 degrees in most of my sessions, including during the 2 free sessions. Also, the two free sessions in June and July were only on my back, not my arms. I do believe [redacted] achieved 42 or higher in June, but in the July session, [redacted] who was scheduled to do my treatment, left early and another tech did my treatment (who was not able to get above 41 degrees). I am a medical professional, so I understand the importance of customer satisfaction to retain patients and to get patient referrals from them. If patients don't get good clinical results, you need to assess why not. I have had many weight loss/fat loss treatments done with RF, and know that different technicians will give me differing results. Giving me 3 free treatments (below 42 degrees-fat burning minimum temperature) didn't give me any results, so that should not count as compensation to me. That was a waste of 3 free treatments because it wasn't performed well to achieve 42 degrees or higher.
Although it was very difficult to reach temps of 43, theraputic temp for [redacted] is above 40 degrees celsius. 40 degrees celsius was reached in every treatment you had and an additional 4 mins plus was actually performed on each treatment you did not maintain 43 degrees, again, all above 40 degrees.
Also, I spent about $350 on the Reduce 1X diet. I weighed 127 week before thanksgiving and was trying to just lose 5-10 lbs. The booklet said to calorie load eating 4000 calories per day for 4 days (because I've done juice fasts before) eating high fat foods like donuts and ice cream. I gained 10 lbs in the first 4 days! On Day 5 and 6, I was not able to maintain the 750 cal/day suggested diet, because I felt too weak and lightheaded to function or work. Since then, I was unable to lose the weight and kept gaining weight, despite exercise and diet. When I spoke with [redacted] during my first nutrition consult, she agreed that starting and not finishing the Reduce 1 X diet ruined my metabolism and caused me to gain weight. When I told the [redacted] the technician, she gave me a free fat blaster, which did nothing to help me lose weight. So again, giving me a free product (fat blaster) to compensate for the reduce 1 X diet not working, is not really a fair compensation, because again it didn't Work.
Actual load time for the Reduce 1X diet is 1 to 2 days. Your weight gain is not due to the directions in the Reduce 1Xplan. [redacted] explained your metabolism would not have been adversely affected by 4 days of eating 4000 calories nor would it be adversely affected by eating 750 calories for only 2 days. She stated it would take much longer to change metabolism. Fat Blaster allows for an increase in thermogenesis, which was explained to you. In order for any diet to work, you must follow a good eating plan. You were encouraged to eat a whole food based diet, nothing processed with reduced sugar and reduced carbs, and again this was explained to you.
Then, you gave me 2 nutrition consults with Dede. She weighed me at 150 lbs in Jan 2015 (25 lb weight gain 1 month after I started reduce 1X diet). she said I was not overweight! What?! I gained 25 lbs in one month since I started and failed your Reduce 1X diet, which screwed up my metabolism when I couldn't finish the
program after calorie loading 4000 cal/day for 4 days. She emailed me the idiet online program to see what to eat, but I couldn't access the site. She emailed it to me again a couple weeks later, and again it didn't work. So again, one failed program (Reduce 1X) to another failed program (fat blaster) to yet another failed program (nutrition consult) is not really compensation. I want compensation that provides results. If your treatments are not effective (exilis, reduce 1 X, fat blaster, nutrition consult), then you should provide monetary compensation.
[redacted] explained you were not technically obese, which is what you had said you had figured out using an online guide. She measured your percent of body fat, a more accurate guide to obesity. The file that was emailed to you we figured out you were trying to open on an ipad and needed to open it on a computer. You stated you would do this after you arrived home from vacation. You still spent over one hour with a nutritionist going over the aspects of your lifestyle that were not working (Starbucks, loaded with sugar) and going over basics of what a healthy diet should include. Our programs are incredibly effective when followed correctly. We also have a no refund policy that is clearly stated on initial quote forms, and sales receipts. We instead offered additional treatments and consultation to assist you in you desire to lose weight but in the end we can not be with you 24 hours a day to make sure you are eating a healthy diet.
None of your treatment (exilis), or diets (Reduce 1X or fat blaster) or nutrition consults worked to help me to lose weightslose fat, after spending thousands of dollars, and gas for 1 hour commute every time. What really upsets me is not only did it not work, but I gained 25 lbs and significantly increased my body fat % after trying your Reduce 1X diet. I spoke with [redacted] in June, who said that if I email you, I can ask for a refund. But your response below states otherwise.
Again, your weight gain can not be blamed on a diet program you are not willing to follow. You did see results in your Exilis treatments but because you were not able to follow a healthy diet the results were not what you had hoped for.
If you do not compensate me further, I will have to file a claim with Revdex.com, in addition to warning others on [redacted] This is not good business practice. I understand you feel that Comfort Laser gave me 3 free exilis treatments, and free fat blaster, and 2 free nutrition consults, but again NONE of these treatments worked, so it is really not true compensation to make up for the money I spent and wasted here. -
We have given you 4 free Exilis treatments not 3, free product, and 2 nutrition consultations. This is at a cost to us.
In an effort to close this chapter have enclosed $250.
We believe this is a good compromise.
Again, we wish you only the best in your Future goals.
Best Regards, Comfort Laser

Re: ID #[redacted]     On 3/27/2014 I didn't purchase one treatment, but a procedure to get the advertised results of "total 100% removal."  The reasons given to me for a second treatment on 4/28/2014 and a third on 5/28/2014 was that the treatments had not as yet shown much improvement. They stated that they treated me a third time free of charge, but the truth is that I was treated again because there was little improvement after 2 treatments. I was told to wait 5 to 6 months for a re-check. I called at the end of October 2014  and said that there had not been any improvement and I was told that  another treatment would cost me $150.00, not free of charge as stated by the Laser Clinic.I said that I would not pay anymore money to get the results that I was supposed to already have.  I told them to have someone in charge call me back concerning a refund.  Approximately 3 weeks later I got a phone call from the Laser Clinic that I would be given a different laser procedure with a different machine that was stronger free of charge.  I said that I would think about it, but set a tentative appointment for January 5,2015.  After seeing no visible improvement in my condition, I felt that the laser treatment process was not a successful procedure to get the advertised results.  I was worried what the stronger laser would do to me, so I called and canceled the appointment and again asked for a refund.  I wrote them a letter asking for a refund again because of no visible results and that and that if I did not hear from them in 2 weeks that I would pursue my legal remedies in small claims court.  They stated that my medical condition compromised  my blood flow and circulation.  I was never examined by the laser clinic nor did I ever submit any medical records concerning blood flow and circulation.  I was never made aware of any medical condition that would be increased by the treatments. To have a 4th treatment with a different stronger laser is not a solution because it may prove to be a danger to my health.  Since my complaint the laser clinic has stopped advertising the procedure and its false results in the local newspapers.       Thank You,       [redacted]

Review: I answered an advertisement in the paper for a laser treatment on my toenails because of toenail fungus. The offer was for "Total 100% Removal" and "Guaranteed Results" for $599. Their information sheets state that only one treatment is necessary, but a second one will be given if needed. I was given 3 treatments between March 27, 2014, to May 28, 2014. There was only a slight improvement and I was told to wait 5 months-using their products at home-and then to call in Oct., 2014, for a Nov., 2014, appointment. When I called in Oct. for an appointment, I was told that it would cost me an additional $150.00. I asked to talk to someone in charge and was told that I would receive a call back. I called several more times and was always put on a long hold and never able to talk to someone in charge.Desired Settlement: A full refund because of absolutely no results.

Mr.[redacted] purchased one treatment for $599.00 and was treated on 3/27/2014. At the time oftreatment our office scheduled him a follow up on 4/28/2014. Comfort Laser Clinics conducteda follow up and treated him again at no charge. Comfort Laser then scheduled him anadditional follow up on 5/28/2014 in which while we saw significant improvement, once againwe treated for a third time free of charge. Mr. [redacted] was treated a total of 3 (three) timesspecific dates were; 3/27/2014, 4/28/2014 and 5/28/2014.Nail Fungus inhibits the blood flow to the toenail which can make the re growth processlengthy and extensive. Re growth of healthy nail also is dependent upon severity of thefungus and any underlying conditions. Due to Mr. [redacted]'s underlying medical conditions notrelated to the Nail Fungus Mr. [redacted]'s blood flow and circulation are compromised. Thiscan add to the lengthy regrowth process. Mr. [redacted] reached out to our Fountain Valleyoffice last month stating his fungus was not completely gone and wanted additionaltreatments free of charge. We contacted our manufacturer of another laser we have to see ifthis might be a more effective laser due to his specific underlying medical condition. We thenreturned his phone call approximately 2 weeks after with no return call from Michael. Please see attached Nail Fungus Aftercare Instructions and Toenail Fungus Consent Forms[redacted] signed which states "keeping your nails fungus free requires your commitment as well."Reinfection and spread of infection is possible if post care is not diligently followed. We as acompany are not able to monitor our patients daily regimen, and foot care. Because of this ourguarantee states "If you are not satisfied with the clarity of post treatment nail growth, simplycall us to schedule your (1) ONE free no questions asked examination and retreat," It alsostates, "nail regrowth will not be recognizable for 6 months after initial treatment."Please see the attached photos of pictures taken on March 13, 2014 and May 28, 2014.

Review: Comfort Laser Clinics publicly advertises that their highly-trained "professionals" are able to rid a person of toenail fungus in only ONE treatment using their state-of-the-art laser equipment, so I went in to their Fountain Valley location on May 29, 2012 for a consultation and was assured and convinced by two estheticians (the attending physician never saw me, not during consultation, not during laser treatment) that I could have beautiful toenails in 6 months. One of them even gave me her own personal testimony about treating her own mother with outstanding results after 6 months. They also advised that I get the treatment that same day because their half off sale price of $625.00 ended the next day, May 30,2012. I could not pass on the bargain & opportunity to finally have beautiful toenails, so I said yes to the treatment, after which they gave me instructions on how to care for my nails, which I followed to the letter. I even replaced ALL my shoes and socks, instead of spraying my old ones with anti-fugal spray, as per their instructions.

Only two weeks after treatment, however, the fungal infection became worse, even on the toes which had no initial fungal infection at all. I called Comfort Laser Clinics and informed them of the condition, and I asked to be retreated. CLC refused to retreat me, they would not even have me come in to examine my toes, they said that toenails turned the color of acrylic nails after getting irradiated with laser and that it was probably what I was experiencing. I had to wait 6 months in order to be considered for retreatment.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited. However, the fungal infection kept worsening, and by the fourth month ALL my toes were in complete despair, so I wrote letters via certified mail and sent pictures of my toenails, and for the whole year that followed, I tried to negotiate a satisfactory agreement, and I even gave them the option to chose how they could mend my grievance. They choseDesired Settlement: to ignore all my requests for another year even when asked for a refund or I would file a complaint. Finally when I informed them on May 22, 2014 that I had compiled enough documentation to even file a complaint with the California Medical Board, and sent them copies of everything, they suddenly, and quickly, were willing to "settle", but they wanted me to sign a settle/release form which included agreeing to not sue or initiate or participate in any class action lawsuit, and including the laughable "to not seek reimbursement or refund of any amounts previously paid to CLC!

Since CLC did not deliver as they promised, since they neglected retreating me on a timely manner after I alerted them, resulting in more damage, and I gave them ample time and opportunities to mend my grievance, to no avail, I'm requesting a full refund of $625.00, immediately. I will not accept any further discussion, any phone calls, settlement, or other resolutions, whatever they may b

Review: I bought an [redacted] (radio frequency) treatment package for thousands of dollars. The consult was with an RN [redacted], because I told the scheduler that I only wanted an RN to do my [redacted] treatment. [redacted] RN did the consult and scheduled my first treatment with her, but when I showed up for the treatment, it was an MA who did my treatment and [redacted] was not working there that day. When I tried to schedule my following treatments with the RN [redacted], she quit. [redacted] RN also misled me during the consult, saying that I would only need the package of treatments I bought to achieve my desired results of no excess upper arm fat or back rolls. She also misinformed me that the treatments will destroy fat cells, but later I found out that the treatments only reduce fat cells, not destroy them.

After doing my series of [redacted] treatments, I got no results. Several technicians told me that you have to reach 42 degrees or higher to get fat burning. Most of my [redacted] treatments, the technician could not reach above 40-41 degrees, so there was no fat burning.

I also bought their diet plan Reduce 1X, which is supposed to enable you to lose a lb a day for a month. I gained 10 lbs in the first week during the calorie loading days as they instructed, and was not able to maintain a 750 calorie diet a day afterwards because I got lightheaded and dizzy and couldn't function or work. I have gained 25 lbs in a month after starting their Reduce 1X treatment and haven't been able to lose those pounds after starting and failing their Reduce 1X diet. Their nutritionist [redacted] also agreed that the Reduce 1X diet messed up my metabolism and caused me to gain weight.

They misadvertised as having an RN do my [redacted] treatment, but she wasn't available, then quit.

They misadvertised that I would only need 6-8 treatments of [redacted] to get my desired results, but I got no results.

They misadvertised that [redacted] destroys fat cells, but it only shrinks fat cells after going over 42 degrees.Desired Settlement: Refund for Exilis treatments (arms and back) and Reduce 1X diet plan.

[redacted],In regards to your email, we wanted to address every point you have made in an effort to help everyone understand each event:Your email is in black, details from us are in blue. That was a waste of 3 free treatments because it wasn't performed well to achieve 42 degrees or higher.Although it was very difficult to reach temps of 43, theraputic temp for [redacted] is above 40 degrees celsius. So again, giving me a free product (fat blaster) to compensate for the reduce 1 X diet not working, is not really a fair compensation, because again it didn't Work.Actual load time for the Reduce 1X diet is 1 to 2 days. What?! I gained 25 lbs in one month since I started and failed your Reduce 1X diet, which screwed up my metabolism when I couldn't finish theprogram after calorie loading 4000 cal/day for 4 days. If your treatments are not effective (exilis, reduce 1 X, fat blaster, nutrition consult), then you should provide monetary compensation.[redacted] explained you were not technically obese, which is what you had said you had figured out using an online guide. We instead offered additional treatments and consultation to assist you in you desire to lose weight but in the end we can not be with you 24 hours a day to make sure you are eating a healthy diet.None of your treatment (exilis), or diets (Reduce 1X or fat blaster) or nutrition consults worked to help me to lose weightslose fat, after spending thousands of dollars, and gas for 1 hour commute every time. What really upsets me is not only did it not work, but I gained 25 lbs and significantly increased my body fat % after trying your Reduce 1X diet. I spoke with [redacted] in June, who said that if I email you, I can ask for a refund. But your response below states otherwise.Again, your weight gain can not be blamed on a diet program you are not willing to follow. You did see results in your Exilis treatments but because you were not able to follow a healthy diet the results were not what you had hoped for.If you do not compensate me further, I will have to file a claim with Revdex.com, in addition to warning others on [redacted] This is not good business practice. I understand you feel that Comfort Laser gave me 3 free exilis treatments, and free fat blaster, and 2 free nutrition consults, but again NONE of these treatments worked, so it is really not true compensation to make up for the money I spent and wasted here. -We have given you 4 free Exilis treatments not 3, free product, and 2 nutrition consultations. This is at a cost to us.In an effort to close this chapter have enclosed $250.We believe this is a good compromise.Again, we wish you only the best in your Future goals.Best Regards, Comfort Laser
