In response to the above sent complaint:Our service techs reported that the hinge on the shower was overextended This is only possible if the customer opened the shower door to abruptly or to wideA call in regards to issues with this shower did not come in until a week after installation This issue is not a warranty problem, however the homeowner did not feel that it was his responsibility or fault either After attempting to make adjustments, the homeowner still was not satisfied As this was not an issue due to poor installation on the part of Comfort Screens & Glass Install and the homeowner did not want to be reliable for damages to the hinge, it was decided that unless the homeowner and [redacted] could split the cost, no additional work would take place[redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because: In the first sentence, I have to disagree with the comment that the issue did not come until a week after installationI actually called to complain about the substandard installation while in progress, as a poor job lining up the material occurredThe installation technicians had to leave and procure additional material to complete the installationAdditionally, upon installation completion, I again called and reported the shuddering from the bottom half of the door upon openingIt was a week before a service technician could come out for the first attempt to rectify the shuddering door The technician’s attempt to mitigate the door shuddering was to lessen the magnet strength by adding material between the magnets, even though I pointed out that, the bottom portion of the hinge was loose when compared to the upper portionHowever, I was told that could not be the reason for the shuddering door; the excessive magnet strength was the causeThere was never, and I stress there was never, any mention of over extending the door hinge on any visit, phone call, or emailEven, opening the door gently caused shuddering, which, the service technicians and *** both observedTherefore, I completely disagree with the comments provided by Comfort Screen & Glass “Our service techs reported that the hinge on the shower was overextended This is only possible if the customer opened the shower door to abruptly or to wideA call in regards to issues with this shower did not come in until a week after installation.” The only attempts to rectify the problem were the initial additional of material between the magnets to lessen the attachmentThe second attempt to lessen the magnet strength was to replace original magnet with a smaller less powerful magnetAfter the second repair attempt, the door seemed to have a worse shudder, which I promptly reported to Comfort Screen & Glass Install on the same day as the failed remedy. The only reason *** came to see the issue I had with the install (the shudder), after multiple emails and phone calls, is due to the fact I told *** that I would have to seek alternate dispute resolution via the Revdex.com or my credit card companyThe mention of alternate dispute resolution did not occur until nearly six months after the installAfter another two weeks of repeated non-returned calls from *** trying to achieve resolution with the company directly, I provided a complaint with the Revdex.comAfter more than six months, I believe I have been more than patient. When *** came to the house, I pointed out the door shuddering and the poorly aligned cornersI stated that I could live with the poor corner alignment, however, I could not live with the door shuddering*** specifically stated he would take care of the problem, as this was a manufacture defect covered under warranty when he was at the houseSince that time, I have been continually told the replacement door was on order, and is reflected in the email belowOf course, I have received no information from Comfort Screen & Glass since the June emailI have attempted to call and email after June 2016, but have received no reply. At no time was there ever discussion of splitting the cost of the repair as *** stated this was a manufacturer defect covered under warranty My request has not changedEither fix the door, replace the door, or refund the installation costs so that I may purchase a door from another vendor. It appears as I thought within the first month or so that *** was hoping that I would give up and forget about the substandard shuddering shower door, which when at the house, he specifically stated that he was not ignoring me they were just very busyUnfortunately, I am reminded daily as the door shudders upon entering and exiting, as it has from the initial installBased on the response from Comfort Screen & Glass Install, it appears *** has decided to reverse the standing by his work and take of the shuddering door issue As you can see from the email trail below, there is a conflict between what the business responded to the Revdex.com, and myselfFurthermore, there is a conflict between what *** stated on the phone, and the information *** provided meI did ask when the replacement door was ordered in a follemailHowever, there was no response.From: *** *** [***@yahoo.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 7, 2016, 8:AM To: *** * *** Subject: Re: Comfort Screens & Glass Install Estimate 1532They deliver to our Austin hub on teusno sir it has not arrived yet!
