Comfort Shield HVAC installed a gas pack unit at my property June, There was one vent that did not have the same airflow as others I contacted the service representative and the office manager multiple times Each time I was promised a followup visit, but it never happened Eventually I was told that the owner/service Rep was seriously ill I gave up
In August, 2016, I noticed large amounts of water around the base of the unit Again I made a call to the service Rep and the office manager at least a half dozen times The response was always, "we'll get back with you to schedule a service visit." It never happened I even requested a service visit on their website After weeks, I have still not received a response

I'm so impressed with Comfort Shield! My heating unit decided that it wanted to stop working today. [redacted] and his son, [redacted] came out in this crazy weather (snow, sleet, and ice on the ground) to help me! He assessed the situation and told me all of my options. I decided the best route is to put in a new unit. [redacted] was able to get my emergency heat to work so I had heat this evening. He is going to come first thing tomorrow to put in the new unit. They were quick, efficient, professional, honest, and very helpful. So thankful for [redacted] and ** at Comfort Shield!

Very unprofessional company. Used ugly language, when I chose to have a second opinion which is a citizen right. They charged a lot of money to have work done. After I had someone else come check to make sure all was correct (since they've come out 4 times and charged $2800), I was told that if an inspector saw this kind of work, the company would be shut down. Not an honest company at all.Product_Or_Service: HVAC repairDesired SettlementI would like a refund, as $2800 I can pay to have a new HVAC unit installed.Business Response $257.71$363.34$85.00TOTAL$706.05pd via [redacted]Serviced by ** (5-31-13)granddaughter [redacted]'s house9lb R-410A $70lb1 leak search $200.00/replaced SchraderLEAK SEARCH USING NITROGEN AND SOAP BUBBLES, FOUND LEAK IN HIGH SIDE SCHRADER VALVE, REPLACED SCHRADER, REMOVED NITROGEN PULLED VACUUM, RECHARGED SYS W 9lb R-410A 59DEGREE AIR COMING OUT WHEN ITS 79 DEGREES INSIDE (20DGRE SPLIT) SYS IS COOLING AT THIS TIMEparts$630.00 + svc fee $200.00TOTAL$830.00pd via [redacted]1-7-14 found compressor locked up $651-8-14 remove and install 3 ton compressor to include labor and 9lb FreonTHE EXPLANATION OF CHARGES GOES AS FOLLOWS;the first charge upon arrival we found a contactor and control board to be burnt due to some sort of power surge and replaced both parts plus the service call fee.the second service call is explained in detail abovethe third service call is also explained and the compressor needed replacing due to the unit being run without refrigerant for a long period of time. at the time of the second service call we advised the tenant mrs [redacted] that we strongly recommend not to add Freon to the original unit due to we thought that the compressor was damaged but [redacted] called her grandmothers finance manager and he arrived at the residence and went against our recommendation and instructed us to just repair shraeder and install Freon so we did at his request. on 1-7-14 [redacted] called about no heat and we arrived and found compressor to be seized up, this is exactly what we said to mrs [redacted] and her grandmothers finance manager would happen on our last service call. again at this time we advised mrs [redacted] and the finance manager that the unit would only have a one year warranty and with the amt of money they would spend they could be better served installing a new a/c unit and have 10 yr parts warranty and 2 yr labor warranty and most of the previous problems came from poor installation of the existing unit from previous contractor and we showed mrs [redacted] every time all our meters and gauges trying to help her understand the situation at hand. she stated on many occasions that the finance manager was a crook and really didn't care what happened with her grandmothers money. we also informed both mrs [redacted] and the finance manager that the duct system was original to the house which she informed us was built in the 70's and had very poor air flow. we bent over backwards for mrs [redacted] and made several trips with no charge because there were things she didn't understand about the thermostat and she thought that her unit was leaking but upon arrival we found a old boiler pipe had busted in the extreme cold and was leaking so we shut the water off to the old system and problem solved with no service fee. we have all documentation to support our end of this discussion and as far as the language issue that is the most un heard of accusation, we have over 4000 customers and present and past employees that will speak out about our integrity and detail to service and I would like an apology from mrs [redacted] recorded with the Revdex.com. as for her second opinion I strongly encouraged it and only ask please give me a call so I could be present at the time of the second opinion, I called several times to ask when she could schedule that meeting and left several messages with no return call to date one other note I met mrs [redacted] at the retirement home and also discussed the issues with her upon receiving pymt for the compressor change out.
