Dear **. [redacted],**. [redacted] called the Comfort suite Manassas and requested a quote for a function on March 1st, 2014.[redacted] was quoted $ 200,00 for a 720 square foot meeting space and $350.00 for 1059 square foot meeting space.**. [redacted]...

called me back on February 14,2014 and requested a quote for a different date April 5,2014, [redacted] was given a quote of $ 350.00 for the 720 square foot meeting room and $ 600.00 for the 1059 Square foot meeting room. I explained to **. [redacted] the reason of the rate Increase and told him that the Comfort Suites Manassas will honor the original rate that was quoted for March 1,2014. ln the hospitality industry our rate for meeting space and guest rooms changes in daily basis based on the demand and high volume. Month of April is a very high demand period in our hotel and we have a higher budget to maintain. We host about 5 different church services in a weekly basis throughout the year and continue to do so.Please call me if you have any questions.Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:Both dates were given during the initial conversation. At that time there was no difference in price. When I called with the actual booking date, the manager increased the price. The given reason, I was booking the room so far in advance, that he might get a request for a wedding. My question, well would the price be higher for a wedding, no he states. I thought booking well in advance of your event was best to get the date you requested. But in this case he penalized me , by doubling the price. He kept offering a date I did not want, while not honoring the date requested at a rate previously quoted. He did not have a wedding booked for the room. So you hold the room for a request not yet made, while price gouging a sure request for room utilization. He even invited me to inspect the room and sign the contract, because of adverse weather and my Dialysis schedule I was not able to make it and he was not available.

Review: I requested a price from [redacted],(I believe that was his name, he has a heavy accent) the events manager at the Comfort Suites. I supplied two dates to him and was assured the venue was available . The dates were March1 and April 5, 2014, time requested, 12-6. The date of this quote was Febuary 6,2014, the price for the room with the capacity for 50 people was $200.00 the room with a capacity of 75 was $350.00. Nothing additional was offered by [redacted]. When I contacted the manager on Febuary 14,2014, he quoted, 350 for the smaller room and 600 for the larger room.my date had changed to April5,2014. He stated because it was being booked 60 days in advance he would have to increase the price. This he attributed to not being able to book a wedding on that date, if he contracted my booking. He stated if I do it on March 1,2014 he would honor his misquote of pricing. I asked if weddings were charged more, he stated no, so why am I being charged booking a ball room on a timely basis. I consider that price gouging. I told him I would file this report, an increase of 150/ and 250.The reason for the rental was a church service.Desired Settlement: To rent the room with the capacity of 75 on April 5, for the original quoted price of $350.00
