[redacted] and his crew worked well together. They were very considerate of our home and never left any "mess" behind. [redacted] helped with the design of our bathrooms and even found someone to change the color of a bathtub faucet. I am happy with my bathrooms and would recommend Comia Home Builders to my neighbors. If I have any complaint at all it would be that the job took longer then expected.

A week filled with ice, snow, and cold weather was the conditions in December whenI decided to move forward with replacing my roof. The professionalism and dedication in [redacted]'s team was impressive. They worked long days to complete the job efficiently and quickly, to prevent any leaks or issues inside. I would definitely refer this company to anyone, especially with the special type of roof I bought that requires skill. Armor shake is not your average roof. My wife and I are extremely happy with the results.

Was very happy with my new roof. The crew was very courteous and more importantly they did a fantastic job. Got high quality service at a good price.

Scott and his team of professionals did a fantastic job custom-finishing our garage and installing over 750 feet of multi-piece crown molding throughout our house. I've worked with other contractors in the past, and there is no comparison! The difference is that Scott uses actual skilled labor - union trained men who know how to do things the right way. He didn't bring in the "Jack of all trades" to do the variety of work we needed. Instead, he provided finish carpenters, electricians, dry-wall tapers and mudders, and painters as the projects required.

As they got started working around the house, they helped us with solutions for areas of the house that needed improvement. I kept adding things to do since they were working so quickly and efficiently. We had them fully-enclose our basement storage area and also build a custom built-in desk and shelving area in a section of our loft using a design my wife found on the Houzz website. They also added LED can lights in our master bedroom and loft where we had a lack of lighting.

We couldn't be happier with the quality and are already working on designing the layout for the basement to be finished... And possibly dormer windows to add curb appeal to our roofline.

Very happy with the new roof that Comia Roofing put on my house in Sept. 2014.
They were very professional and [redacted] was awesome through the whole process.
I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anybody.

Comia Home Builders built our custom house for us. Our experience was excellent with the company as a whole and specifically with the owner, [redacted]. Every detail of our dream home was meticulously addressed and the end result exceeded our expectations. [redacted] was always accessible and addressed every question or concern we had throughout the build. His knowledge and expertise is exceptional and he made the entire process as easy as possible for us.

We routinely recommend Comia Home Builders to our friends, colleagues and family. In fact, a number of our friends and family have used Comia Home Builders for projects including exterior work, a substantial addition, and a custom home build, and all with exceptional results.

Comia Home Builders was recommended by a neighbor who used them for hail damage that occured in a storm during the Spring of 2014. [redacted] offered to inspect our roof and identified similar damage. After sharing results of my insurance claim with [redacted], he pointed out where my insurance company had undervalued my gutters, resulting in additional payment for the replacement of my roof and gutters. Comia Home Builders were quick, efficient and extremely professional in the replacement of my roof and gutters - they were on time and on budget in regard to the scope of the quote. I highly recommend them!

"We contracted with Scott Comia to completely remodel our master bath, including, new cabinets, floor tile, new shower with frameless glass, new tub placement and all new electrical and plumbing connections. We were highly satisfied with all aspects of his work, including his timeliness, clean-up after each day, and above all his quality of work. Scott supervised at least 6-7 different trades-men for the over-all job and each man was dedicated to quality work reflecting Scott's very high standards. Needless to say, we would highly recommend Comia Home Builders for any remodeling job or new home construction."

Comia Home Builders constructed a 16' x 20' deck on the back of my house consisting of composite decking and vinyl railing. Their professionalism and workmanship was second to none. Their attention to detail and overall passion for producing a quality incredible. Scott is very easy to work with and always very responsive.

Comia replaced my roof in fall of 2012. It was a fairly large project and they did an outstanding job. Their attention to detail is hard to find today and their prices are more than competitive. I give them my highest recommendation and will use them for any job at my home in the future.

Comia Home Builders is the best general contractor I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. [redacted] personally oversaw the construction of my home and went above and beyond what was required to get the job done on time and within budget. As a project manager for an area electrical contractor I am very familiar with the nightmares you can experience with a bad general contractor and I can assure you with Comia Home Builders you will not have any of those problems.

I highly recommend Comia home builders.

This is the company I hired for my roof replacement project since it was listed as one of the preferred contractor on [redacted] website. They did a good job and finished the project on time, although the total cost of this project was a little bit higher than I expected.

The initial issue of the shingles being lifted up as the customer had stated was due to the roof being installed on a cool...

and cloudy day in mid September 2014. I think I had addressed the issue with the customer the day of the installation and had explained that shingles need sunlight and/or warm temperatures so that they will relax, lay flat and seal to one another. Once we got a couple warm sunny days the shingles over the entire roof did indeed lay flat and properly seal.
The customer then contacted me at the end of August 2015 stating that there were still some shingles "lifted up" and had not yet laid down. I asked the customer if the roof was leaking at all and she stated that it was not so I advised the her that I would put in a work-order with my installation crew and that we would address the issue as soon as possible. Immediately following this conversation my brother which lives in California was in involved in a tragic accident and was very critically injured. I along with the core of my family traveled to California immediately to be by his side while on life support and in the CCU. The customer had contacted me again while I was out in California coping with the family emergency and asked the status of the repair. I explained my situation and stated that a work-order had been placed with my installation crew but I did not know the status at that time. I asked again if the roof was leaking in anyway and she stated that it was not. I went on to explain that I was still in California and would be for some time. I explained that since the roof was not leaking it sounds to be a cosmetic issue and I assured her that I would personally come by to assess the issue and take care of it accordingly as soon as I was back in town and able to. I left the conversation thinking that the customer was OK with that plan of action and that we were both on the same page. I spoke with my installation crew and evidently they had went by but did not notice anything wrong with the shingle installation but forgot to inform me of their findings. I returned back to St. Louis and had it on my schedule to go by and assess the issue myself the week in which the customer had filed the complaint. I never did hear from the customer since our last communication while I was in California and thought we were still on the same page and then I received notice of the complaint being filed on 11/3/15. I tried calling the customer right away but was not able to reach her directly and left a message for her to call me at her earliest convenience. I never did receive a call back but did receive an email a couple days later acknowledging receipt of the message and that I could come by at anytime. I went out to the customer's home on 11/7 to assess the issue. I discovered that all of the shingles on the roof were laying flat and sealed properly. I knocked on the door and asked the customer to show me where the area of concern was. She had pointed out 2 shingles, 1 on each side of a metal chimney chase, that were slightly lifted. After inspection I discovered that the the nails holding down the existing metal flashing which is part of the existing metal chimney chase had pulled loose from the old roof decking. This caused the old existing metal flashing to spring upward and lift the shingles on top of it slightly. This issue was not directly related to the installation of the new roof but it was an easy fix and I corrected the issue within a few minutes. I came down from the roof and explained the issue with the customer and told her that I went ahead and corrected it with some flat head decking screws under the shingles and also applied some roofing cement to insure that the shingles seal down even though the temperatures were cooler at the time.
The customer seemed to understand the cause of the issue and thanked me. I went on to explain that this all happened during an unfortunate family emergency I had been dealing with and that if it hadn't been for that situation I would of been out sooner myself to assess the issue and correct it for her then as I did now. I explained to her that customer satisfaction is something that I take very seriously and that we have never received a customer complaint since 2001 when I started the business. I asked for her consideration in withdrawing the complaint given the circumstances and the fact that it was not an issue with the roof installation. I have yet to get a response but am hoping she will consider it.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 9, 2015/11/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The owner of the company did finally come out and correct the problem and I was satisfied with him fixing the problem. Hopefully if any other problems arise in the future within my warranty, the company will still provide me with customer satisfaction.

[redacted] went over and above to helps us with our new roof. He had to come out numerous times because our insurance agency kept changing agents. He came by daily checking on his crew. The crew was polite and picked up nicely. We were so happy we have referred him to our neighbors.

On a separate issue I needed a quick repair on my father's home. [redacted] personally came out that day and made the repair.

We wish his company continued success.

Comia Home Builders came out to replace our roof.
[redacted] and his team were great! They walked my wife and I though every step, meet with our insurance and made sure we understood every step of the process with ZERO pressure. We love our new roof and have recomended Comia Home Builders to multiple people. It's nice to have a contractor you can trust.

Over the past year, Comia Home Builders have put a new deck on the rear of my home and replaced faulty shingles and skylights on my roof. My experience has been nothing but positive. [redacted] and his employees conduct themselves in a very professional manner. Both projects were completed in a timely manner, and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. After our experience, I can easily say Comia Home Builders has a customer for any future construction projects we may have. We have also referred this company to friends and family, who have all had similar positive experiences.

On April 28, 2012 our home was severally damaged as a result of a hailstorm. Shortly afterward, we noticed that several homes in the area displayed yard signs bearing the name "Comia Home Builders".

One of our neighbors sent an email to everyone in our subdivision saying: "We have worked with [redacted] before and are working with him on our hail damage. He is very reputable and easy to work with. He will meet with the adjuster onsite to make he/she sees all the damage."

We checked the local Revdex.com on the Internet and found that Comia Home Builders has an A+ rating. So, we contacted Mr. [redacted] and asked that he meet with us and that he accompany the insurance adjuster during the formal survey of the damage to our home. When we received the adjuster's report from our insurance company, Mr. [redacted] noticed that the report failed to include several significant items. He forwarded the details of and justifications for the omissions to our insurance company and those items were immediately added to our claim. Had he not done so, we would have been required to pay for the repairs not included in the original adjuster's report. It should also be noted that the person with whom we dealt at our insurance company told us that the price quote from Mr. [redacted] was extremely fair and well within their guidelines.

Throughout the entire repair/replacement process (roof, skylights, vinyl siding, garage and front door replacement, rear deck, etc.) Mr. [redacted] and his crew were extremely professional and all work was completed to our total satisfaction. Although Comia Home Builders was contracted to repair hail damage to several homes in our area, we were always made to feel that it was important to them that our needs were met in a timely manner.

We are pleased to recommend Comia Home Builders to anyone requiring construction, remodeling, repairs and/or renovations. Our neighbor was quite correct when he wrote that [redacted] "is very reputable and easy to work with." [redacted] and his company are totally deserving of their A+ rating and, should the need arise in the future, we will definitely again use [redacted] Home Builders.

Attentive service, got the job done in the time frame we needed and provided quality work.

I wrote the following review several years ago after [redacted] acted as the General Contractor on our custom home build. My wife and I have now lived in the house for six years, and I wouldn't change one word of my previous recommendation. Here it is…

[redacted] "inherited" our build when our first contractor went out of business. As we were left with a partially finished home (about 20% completed) my wife and I were leery of working with another contractor/builder and knew we really had to make a solid choice. [redacted] approached our situation and build with a calm demeanor, solid recommendations and a professionalism that immediately affirmed our decision in hiring him to complete the work. His collaborative style, excellent communication and willingness to listen to our ideas (and make them a reality) made the experience very enjoyable; even though we were placed in a difficult situation by the first builder.

[redacted]'s attention to detail and build-quality is fantastic. His project management skills kept us on time and within budget. [redacted] truly represented our best interests to the sub-contractors and made sure their jobs were completed with the same level of quality he would have expected from himself. It was a pleasure working with [redacted]. When you spend this much time with the person building your home, you want the experience to equal the outcome. I can certainly say [redacted] made all the difference in making this a great experience. I would highly recommend his work and skills to anyone."
