There are false charges on my checking account which I think was intentionally made because the problem had been resolved by me, [redacted] and bank.July 5, 2015To: Revdex.com Investigator. Several times I have been back and forth from my building to the bank to resolve online payment issues, insufficient funds issues, and checks that don't show up. At times it seems suspicious to me that it happens so much. I even heard neighbors passing by murmur about me going to the bank so much. I admit many times I have made errors that I had to correct with the bank, but sometimes I don't and I still have to correct problem with my account. One time I even complained to the police about it.Now I have another problem of false charges made to my checking account on July 6, 2015 $70 and $137, although the error made with my [redacted] online payment system had been resolved June 30, 2015 and July 1, 2015. I have documentation to prove it and [redacted] customer service statement that [redacted] did not take the money out of my account on July 6, 2015. Now I have to go back to the bank to resolve this issue. I wrote the following message to Commerce Bank online Questions/Comments to inform them of this matter. To: Customer Service Agent: On July 6, 2015 there were 2 charges 0 $70 and $137. Why? [redacted] customer service Rep said that they did not make those debt. If you look at my checking account you'll find that those two debts were paid on June 30, 2015. However, the payments were made again due to confusion, on July 1, 2015, but reversed on the same day July 1, 2015. Now I find that on July 6, 2015 $70 and $137 debited to my checking account. Why? [redacted] Rep said they did not make those debit charges on July 6, 2015. I have a $2 credit with them. I have confirmations emails from [redacted] for just three payments $70, $137, and $153, and the ones that were reversed. Refund those charges of $70 and $137 made on July 6, 2015 without fee, for they are false charges. If not I will report this to Revdex.com. I will also visit my bank branch Monday July 6, 2015.[redacted] W [redacted] Acct ending in [redacted](Note: The date on this message sent to the bank is July 7, 2015, but I will be there Monday July 6, 2015)Desired SettlementWill you please investigate this matter with the bank to find out who is purposely causing my banking problems and trying taking money out of my account by that method? I want a refund without any fee charges. [redacted] didn't take it. I'm tired of going back and forth to the bank for unjust issues.Business Response On 6/30/15 the customer had made a payment with [redacted] both Online and in person. When they realized that they have authorized payment twice, they requested that [redacted] reverse one of the payments. Being too late in the day, both payment had been processed. The result was that the customer became overdrawn. When notified by the bank of the overdraft, the customer instructed the bank to return the payment. The following day, [redacted] also provide CREDIT for the duplicate payment so the customer had the benefit of the reversed payment twice. On July 6th, [redacted] re-debited the customer for the returned payment. The end result is that [redacted] has been paid ONCE and this was authorized by the customer. The customer is not owed any funds from the bank or [redacted]Consumer Response Regarding Case # XXXXXX, on June 30, 2015 there was not enough money in my account to pay those debits made by [redacted] and the attempts brought my account to a negative balance, and Commerce Bank did not pay them, therefore [redacted] did not get any money which they returned to me at my request, because there was nothing in my account when they try to debit it to pay my bill in the first place, so they didn't get a payment, and I was charged an insufficient fund/overdraft fee. Neither did [redacted] receive any money from my account with the reversals, because my bank didn't pay those debits because my account was in the negative. There was no money in my account to pay. That was the reason I asked for reversals. I had trouble changing the payment schedule. Therefore a request for a refund from [redacted] had to be an error on my part because they never received anything from my empty account. The only online payment the bank paid was $153.00. The $70.00 I paid off line through a vendor, which brought my [redacted] bill that was $220.63, to $2. 37 credit. So, I don't owe [redacted] anything because they never received any money from my account June 30th thru July 1st, because my account was in the negative, there was nothing there. So, why did [redacted] debit from my account $70.00, and $137.00 on July 6, 2015? My bill was paid, and they can't return to me any money the never received. [redacted] debits my account to get payment from me, not to pay my phone bill for me, so I don't owe them, because they can't get any money from a negative balance. And, even if the bank paid it, I would owe the bank, not [redacted] As it stands my bank didn't paid the charges for me. The payment research specialist understood what I explained and wants to get an ACH Report and/or an EFT Report which will show what account the debits of $70.00, and $137.00 was debited too, because they don't not have any records that proves that [redacted] debited my account on July 6, 2015. The other [redacted] agents said the same thing when I had spoke to them. I will let you know if I get those reports and send them to her. Is there any further steps I should take? [redacted] Final Business Response We understand the customer's concern, however, we have no knowledge of their billing status with [redacted] The customer admits to making payment arrangement with [redacted] That may have resulted in an overdraft - but this is not something Commerce Bank controlled. The situation was created between the customer and [redacted]In the interest of customer service, we have rebated the $70.00 in overdraft charges. To prevent future occurrences the customer will need to revoke their authorization for [redacted] to draft their account as well as verify that if they allow such debits, that there are sufficient funds in their account to cover the payment.
