This customer is the type of person who is looking for
something for nothing.Unfortunately we run across about one out of several who
think they can get away with a cheap patch jobI’m going to make this short
and sweet, the vehicle and engine sat over years we took the engine apart
to
inspect it.The bore of the block was already overI’m only going to
give one example of one of the things we found on the engine: someone painted the
inside of the engine with some type of Silver paintWhen we jet vatted the
block to try to remove the paint at no availnWe also tried to hone it to see
if the cylinders would clean up, cylinders would not clean up leaving what is known
as a revealing eyebrow ridgeThis means that the top ring will not seal properly in this
engineSo this is where the work stoppedSince *** obviously doesn’t understand
anything about machining or custom engine buildingHe does not understand I do
not do patch work on engines.When he came in person and we went over all the parts we
both agreed that the cam, lifters and fuel pump was missing, Ii told him after inventorying
and taking pictures knowing that everything else was thereI explained to him
that I would replace cam, lifters and fuel pump once he gave me the parts numbers
of what was in the engine to confirm this I put in writing and we both agreed.After loading the engine parts on to his trailer, when he
came back to the front counter is there anything else I can do to settle the
matter he said " I'd Like to have my $deposit back" I said No
problem will this settle the matter he said 'YES' and said what are you going
to do about the cam, lifters and fuel pumpI repeated myself and said once you
let me know the brand name of cam and lifters and fuel pump I Will reimburse
that to you only! and I asked him again is this satisfactory? he said Yes! and
then I asked do you have the information about the cam with you and said no he
has the paperwork at home and would get back to me and let me know the brand
names wereI said Okay! I thought we had a
good understanding we talked a little more about cars and refunded the money
and shook handsI asked him if he is satisfied and said Yes! As a foot note
the original estimate that he signed is only for $for teardown and
inspection only, there was never any commitment whether the engine would cost
$1,or more. After talking to
Larry and showing Larry what we found in the engine we both agreed to cancel
the work on this engine because it would take more than $because of the
condition of the engine. Enclosing we had the
legal right to turn down customers like this who want patch work or improperly
worked on, we refuse jobs like this on a regular basis because the customer
thinks he can get a cheap jobs and
thinking that they are going to get an engine by just doing a cheap rebuilt.Regardless of all the remarks and disregard the what he states
in his statement I cancel this type of jobs with no problem after I refund
their moneyI cancel the work I don’t want to do patch work for customers who think they can bully u or
intimidate us like ***Regardless of what he says is a extremely rude with Claudia
and the girls on the phonesI do not put up with any type of verbal abuse or any type of
unprofessional language or intimidation in this company! I been working on custom engines for over years as a
professional and I respect customers to give us the same respect on the phoneI always find there is always or people that think can
tell us how to do our job! If *** thinks he can have this job done by
someone in CA I’m sure it will be a patched job!This type of job as I explained to him would cost him many
thousands dollars of he wants it done right, he did not want to spend that kind
of money. One more last thing
that *** did in front of me and my counter personal was to pull out his
badge to try to intimidate us if at one time he was a officer of the law he
should know better than to wave your badge to the public weather you are
retired or not.This is extremely wrong after talking to one of our local
customers who are retired sheriff, deputies and police men.When I told them what happened they said it was totally
unacceptable in any way of the law.He needs to be reprimanded for such an action.All communication will be done by email onlyThe girls will
not accept any calls from him again and this company will not accept any calls
because for the verbal abuse.When *** determents what part numbers for cam, lifters
and fuel pump that he has, we will replace them at a fair market valueIf we do not hear from him by email in
the next week we will close this case.re

We spoke to the customer, we advised him that the engine was done except for paint.We told him we would finish engine within weeks.We have been having a couple of issues due to some parts that have been on backorder.After we spoke, the customer was very happy that we settled our differences, he
was glad that the communication was good.We both agreed not to display this publicly since things were settled at a speedy rate. We both agreed on this under the consumer privacy act.We always try to work with our customers if there is a problem, this customer was very good to work with
