I contacted the Bureau previously regarding a car towing issueThis is to add additional information: My mother; who is the title holder of the vehicle, has spent the last two days trying to contact the businessShe has called the number listed on their business card multiple timesShe just
received a call back today saying they never received any calls even though it was the same number I called the night of the incidentThis is to reiterate that on the night the issue occurred, I was quoted a price of $then they took off with my vehicle, leaving me stranded in a bad section of Allentown in the middle of the nightThen, I was told I could pick up my car the next day for $Then they said they were closedNow, my mother finally got a hold of them today and they are demanding $That's quite a price jump considering they basically stole my carI have also contacted the city of Allentown regarding the issue as well and have yet to hear back from themFor a full explanation of the original event, please reference my original complaint.Desired Outcome: The original quoted price of $I want to be reimbursed in cash for the price hike

Review: Copy of the letter of complaint sent to business:Dec. 3, 2012Commonwealth Asset Recovery[redacted]On Nov.17, 2012 at approximately 6 pm my vehicle was towed from a parking lot at [redacted] to your lot located on [redacted]. This was a surprising and unexpected circumstance. An even more disturbing revelation occurred when I left your lot to drive to my home which is about 55 miles away. Whenever I passed over a bump or depression in the road the car began to noticeably sway from side to side. Assuming it was a tire problem I stopped to check but found nothing wrong. I travelled a bit further but stopped again since the jolting was getting more pronounced, but once again could find no reason for the swaying. I drove home cautiously and in fear of losing control. I arrived late that night. We took the car, 1998 Toyota Corolla to a mechanic to diagnose the problem and were told that the rear control assembly arm was badly bent and the car was unstable and unsafe to drive. The car needed immediate repair. It now required an all wheel alignment, replacement of the rear lateral links, and 2 tires had to be replaced since driving home on them with the damage incurred by the towing had caused the tires to wear unevenly and become bald over the distance. The cost of the repairs required by the damage caused by towing totaled $1108.01. I did not experience any of these driving problems on the trip to [redacted] earlier that day, or at any time previously. The tires had easily passed inspection before the towing. Therefore I demand that you reimburse us for the damages that you caused to by towing our vehicle.I enclose a copy of the repair bill which totals your liability for $1108.01 which excludes the cost of the motor oil change. I request a prompt response.Desired Settlement: There has been no response from Commonwealth Asset Recovery. Review: On the night of 7/14/13, my 2010 Subaru Legacy All-wheel-drive was parked in a private lot for approximatly 30 minutes and towed/impouned by C.A.R.S. of Easton, PA(Commonwealth Asset Recovery [redacted], PA [redacted]) at 11:53pm. I recently purchased this vehicle a few weeks earlier. Initially when I contacted the company to have my car released to me at approximately 12:43 am(by the time I found the found number, etc.###-###-#### ), the person on the phone told me I had to wait until 12 noon to pickup my vehicle. After asking for the supervisor several times, they finally agreed to allow me to pickup my vehicle, but I had to pay a $265 fee for picking up the vehicle, which I think is EXCESSIVE. I went to the location of where my vehicle was parked, which was [redacted], PA [redacted]. Upon paying for my vehicle to be returned to me, before leaving I checked for any damage due to a previous issue with a previous vehicle I've had with a different tow company with a all wheel drive vehicle. Also, this car is less than a month old, everytime I re-enter my vehicle, I always check for any new damage. In checking for damage before I left the impound lot, I found a new scratch on the left side skirt of my vehicle which was not there before. The person that released the vehicle to me, [redacted](or thats what he told me it was) told me that [redacted], was the person that picked up my vehicle initially, which is represented on my paperwork. I showed [redacted] the damage and told him to take a picture of the damage as I did the same. I told him I will be in to talk with the Owner/Manager about it later that day. The next day, I contacted the company, which in turn contacted the Owner, which nevery gave me her name but her phone number is ###-###-####. Upon speaking with the owner, I told her what was on my paperwork([redacted] released my vehicle and [redacted] towed my vehicle) which caused damage. Immediately after I said that, she started being very argumenative stating that it was not [redacted] that damaged my vehicle and it was [redacted]. So I asked her did the person who released my car to me lie and tell me a different name and is my paperwork incorrect. She continued to argue with me and finally came to see the vehicle. When she came to see the vehicle it was a blonde female in an orange pontiac sunfire(2 door) and approached my vehicle asking where the damage was. I showed her where the damage was on my vehicle and she continued to argue with me in regards to who towed my vehicle and denying any wrong doing. I told her I was going to contact the local police to get a report drawn up and she left, stating they(the local police) has her phone number and they could call her.Desired Settlement: I would like my vehicle to be repaired by a reputable body shop of my choice/convenience. I already have an estimate for the damage of $311 by [redacted] in [redacted], NJ [redacted]. At VERY LEAST, I want a complete CASH refund of the $265 that I payed to get my vehicle released to me.
