2017, regarding his debit card being involved in a fuel pump skimming incident that resulted in fraudulent transactions occurring on his debit cards. The skimming incident spanned several states and impacted cards from numerous financial institutions. Mr. [redacted] was concerned about the safety of his card information. He was concerned that he had not yet received the credit into his account for the fraudulent transactions that occurred on his card.   We have verified that the credit was deposited into his account on January 25, 2017.Mr. [redacted] was interested in obtaining a chip debit card. While the chip cards are not yet available at Commonwealth Bank and Trust, the Card Services manager informed Mr. [redacted] that the Bank is in the process of obtaining chip debit cards and that they will be available to our customers once that process has been completed. Mr. [redacted] also contacted our Electronic Banking Services Manager the afternoon of January 25th regarding account alert options within our Internet Banking product and other security features of the site. Mr. [redacted] was concerned that the account alerts for debits to his account did not contain any specific information on the transaction. The Electronic Banking manager informed Mr. [redacted] that the content of the alerts in the current system could not be changed, but did tell Mr. [redacted] about the Bank’s new mobile and web applications that would be available within the next couple of months that did have some enhancements to the alerts. The new system’s alerts would contain a dollar amount in the alert text or email, but including the payee will not be supported. Mr. [redacted] related his fraud incident and expressed the desire to know the payee as well. Since this will not be an option with the vendor-supplied application, it was offered that unfamiliar amounts of transactions received via alert would be a signal to log in to view the detail.
