Thank you for sending me the company response and providing me the opportunity for me to respond.Before I go into an electrical inspectors requirements under New York Law please let me address themisstatement I made in my initial complaintIn my initial complaint I stated that CommonwealthElectrical Inspection Services (“Commonwealth”) was licensed by the state of New York that wasincorrectWhile Commonwealth is not “licensed” by New York State they are required by Town of* Code to enforce all local and state code related to electrical wiringThe Town of ***Codes Chapter 62-“Duties of electrical inspector” part A states in relevant part that:It shall be the duty of the electrical inspector to report in writing to the BuildingInspector, whose duty it shall be to enforce all provisions of this chapter, all violations ordeviations from or omissions of the electrical provisions of the New York State UniformFire Prevention and Building Code and of all local laws and ordinances insofar as any ofthe same apply to electrical wiring.As such, Commonwealth was required to ensure all work performed on existing electrical services areup to the International Residential Code (2nd Printing as adopted by New York State)

As per complaint customer had requested a new riser and meter box installed as part of a real-estatetransaction.This work was done and inspected in MayReport attached.This work was a repair with like and same materials as were present.This does not constitute a new service and is not required to
be brought up to today's standards.The previous owner was aware this was a repair and not a new service.The meter mounting on the house was in the same fashion and place as before.This was an existing nonconforming locationWhen it was installed it was not in violation.The town puts the pool as over years in that location.If Mr*** has an issue with the wires over the pool that should be discussed with the homeinspector that did not point them out when he bought the house.To confuse the issue a power company person may have given Mr*** some wrong information.Due to employee turnover and transfers between departments not all power company personnel maybe aware of the same for same repair policy.He also had stated we were "licensed" by NY State.We are not governed by the state at all.We are approved by local towns and the power companies.Home inspectors are licensed by NY State.TIMOTHY ***IAEI CERTIFED ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR #10485NEW YORK STATE MANAGER/ CHIEF INSPECTORCOMMONWEALTH ELECTRICAL INSPECTION SERVICE INC.*** *** *** *** *** *** ***
