This is in response to the above complaint We happily do give estimates if the client asks, although it is often difficult with dental procedures because we cant get a good idea what is going on until after the animl is under anesthesiaand the AVMA statndard has changed since the previous cleaningThat being said, I have hoired a new associate that does most of the dental procdures and she give an estrimate prior to the procedure and if it looks more involve will call the client before going too much over the etimate. The previous associate that performed the dentals did not do thisI feel that we have addressed the problem, although too late for the complaintantIn reguards to the vial, he was not charged for the vialIt was prepaying for the fecal examWe do usually explain that to the client"we will give you this cup to brind a sample backYou will be charged for the fecal test today, so you can drop the sample off and not have to wait to pay then" Thank you for you time [redacted] ***

Unfortunately we will not be able to issue a refund for blood workThe blood work that was performed at *** *** Vet was outside of our required week windowIt is our policy for the pet's safety to have blood work performed within weeks of the scheduled procedureValues can change which is
why we have this policy to protect our patients and to make sure there isn't any underlying disease that could effect the way they react to anesthesiaWe would be happy to send the results of our testing so that further tests may not need to be performed

Review: I had my dog to this animal hospital, and when asked if I'd like a vile to collect the stool sample, I said sure....What this office FAILED to tell was this plastic vile cost $15....normally, I drop off these samples in a dog bag.....If they would have told me the cost up-front, I'd have not taken the plastic vile.....Also, during a recent surgical procedure on my dog to have TWO teeth extracted, the total cost of that bill was $875....I was NOT informed that x-rays were going to cost $300 and that each tooth would cost $150 to extract. I about fell through the floor when they told me the amount of the surgery bill (considering I paid $259 four years ago for a more involved surgery!!!). I'm going to switch veterinarians for this sole reason....I've also overheard other customers complain about not being told about costs up-front. It's too bad I'm leaving this office...it's very close to my house, but when I'm going to get "railroaded" for costs that I knew nothing about, it's time to find a more professional vet.Desired Settlement: Tell customers how much things are going to cost!!!!!!! That's all..............Explanation of Charges. FAILED to tell was this plastic vile cost $15. I was NOT informed that x-rays were going to cost $300 and that each tooth would cost $150 to extract.

Review: I was "fired" as a client for "conflict of interest". There was no written or verbal explanation or warning as to this taking place, but when I called the business to request a medication refill for my dog they told me they could no longer see us and to find a new veterinarian. When I asked why, or for an explanation I was hung up on. This happened several times on 11/18/2013.Desired Settlement: To allow/continue to see my pet as a patient.

Response:

I am responding to the complaint #[redacted]. The complainant is involved in a relationship with an ex employee who left employment on bad terms. I had refused her service several months ago when this occurred , she had her animals all switched to her boyfriend's name and had her one dog seen by my associate while I was on vacation. This person has been shown to be deceptive and a bit of a trouble maker. The action to refuse service to her and her boyfriend were to protect my business from problems that could occur having them as clients. I feel that this claim is to discredit me and is a personal vendetta. The dog in question had only been seen once at our practice, so there was no long standing relationship with this client and his pets?. Our office cooperated and gave the complainant a copy of his records and faxed a copy to the vet of his choice. I also gave him a refund for the over charge for the last medicine that he had purchased. Never did anyone here hang up on him. I feel that we very cooperative with him.

?T?hank you for your consideration.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

There are a few misconceptions made in the response. I happen to be friends with multiple employees at this business and I was unaware that those "relationships" were legitimate reasons to terminating a client. I was referred to the hospital by that ex employee and other employees. If someone had a vandetta against the business I fully doubt a recommendation referral would be given. I happen to know for a fact that this said employee did not leave on her own will on bad terms. She was fired by the business owner during a very emotionally trivial time in her life. Due to that loss of income, I then adopted her dog since she could no longer afford the care that he needed. She had also given up her other dog for adoption during this time to another former coworker. No notice of ending or refusing service was ever issued formally either in writing or from the business owner himself. None of her other animals were transferred to my file as aledged. She has never spoke an ill word of the situation, the doctor, or his business so to call her a trouble maker or deceptive would be a completely fictitious statement. Dr. [redacted] has never met myself or my pets, and nor was any money owed or delinquent to this business. If you look at the patient files my dogs were seen more than once as I was attempting to establish a relationship with this place of business. My dog was seen and received services on 3/19/13, 7/18/13, 9/17/13, and my new dog was seen on 7/23/13.
