It was on the 8th of May 2015, I took a car I bought from [redacted] to [redacted] the owner of community auto shop.According to [redacted], [redacted], I was instructed to replace the right rear door and the frame that supports the door of my 2004 [redacted] before the car could pass body integrity inspection. [redacted] says when the car Is done, that I should bring the receipt of the replaced door and the frame or, if these parts are taken from another car that I should provide them with the vehicle information number (VIN). I took my 2004 [redacted] to [redacted] , I told him what needs to be done and in a specified way as instructed by [redacted]. He assured me that he will replaced the door and cut the door frame from another vehicle and that he will provide me with the receipt and the vin number of the vehicle he got the frame from. [redacted] charged me 950 dollars, "he said 950 dollars because the parts are expensive".I gave him 200 dollars that when he completes the work that I will balance up the outstanding payment (750).Upon completion of the car, [redacted] called me and told me the car was done, I discovered he did not buy a new door and a new door frame;he could not provide the vin number of the car where he got the door frame from and he could not provide me with the receipt of the new door. [redacted] confessed that he worked on the old door and the frame and insists that he needs to collect 750 dollars the remaining balance before he could release my car. [redacted]. I [redacted] told him I will not pay him because he breached our agreement and that the only ground I will pay him is if he put new door and frame the way I want it. [redacted] then decided to seize my car and lock it in his workshop garage. [redacted]Desired SettlementI need my car from him, I want to take it to a better workshop where the work will be done in a proper way I want it.
