Review: My 12 year old enrolled in a Math enrichment class- YAG-149-1450 ([redacted]) Pre-Algebra over the summer. I paid $459 for this. The goal is to cover the next year's math syllabus. Students must clear a final exam conducted by North Allegheny(NA) & then the child can skip a grade. Two teachers handled this topic for this subject in respective classes. One from NA & another from elsewhere. One teacher did not cover the entire syllabus. Select topics were skipped-as that was the instruction received by that teacher. Students who scored 90s in this teacher's CCAC weekly & final test, did not get the passing grade of 80 in NA final test! In fact students in this particular class had asked the teacher about chapters that were left out and whether it will be on the finals (because of word from older siblings who had been through the course) but were told by the teacher to ignore it. CCAC conducts a final exam and then gives out a final review sheet/guide on the last day of CCAC. It had sample problems on all topics (including those that were not covered). My daughter like many others did not study those topics as it was not taught & had been told by the teacher in the class that it was not included. Those topics also appeared in the final NA test and she did not get the required score to skip the grade. Not only is her confidence shaken but her morale is at a low even now. Kids who had sibling/other sources/knew to study the skipped topics - got through the test. My child and others like her from her class were left at a DISADVANTAGED position as they did not get the equal fair opportunity to compete on an even foot. I approached CCAC etc. They agreed to take my comments into consideration for next year while I tried to resolve this with the school. As I try to help my daughter emotionally through this I realize that this is a huge opportunity cost for my daughter and myself. Lost time, confidence, effort, money! She missed a whole year for no fault of her's. NA is not accountable for CCAC's lapse.Desired Settlement: My daughter mastered the material that was taught at the CCAC class but not the material that was not. Proof is in the weekly tests conducted at CCAC and the finals at CCAC.The best resolution would be for my daughter to skip the grade at school but the school has its rules and will only look at the final NA test. My child UNFAIRLY did not get the opportunity to skip the grade level Math that she's redoing at school for no good reason. Hence I should be refunded.

Review: I enrolled my 3 1/2 yr.old son in swim tots advanced on March 12 2014.$59 was debeted from my bank account. It is a class for 3 to 4 yr. olds. The class started on March 12 2014 and ends on May 5 2014.We missed the first class because we registered on the day it started. We were told we could make it up on a Monday in a different swim class. My son went to lessons on March 19,26,and April 2nd.We went a total of 3 classes. On the 26th of March he started throwing up a short time after we got home.I just assumed he was getting sick. After he threw up he got ok.On April 2nd when we got home he threw up again. After talking with my mother she asked me if he was swallowing water in swim class.I said yes,the swimming teacher has all the kids put water in their mouth from the pool and spit it in the air and then again and spit it through a ring( which is completely unsanitary). After I saw they did that I would bring a bottle of water from home and tell my son to use that. And naturally being a 3 yr. old he wanted to do what all the other kids were doing and use the pool water. On April 9th when it was time for swimming lessons my son didn't want to go so I didn't make him.Im assuming he remembered throwing up the past 2 times we were there.I decided to not take him back at all.I called ccac on on April 16th and spoke to the woman in charge named M.J.I explained to her that my son had started throwing up after swimming and I was not going to bring him and told her we were only there for 3 classes and asked her if she could refund me for all the other days we are not going to be there. She said why didn't you call me sooner?I said I had just made the decision to not bring him back. She also informed me that the class was for kids(3 to 4 yrs.) who could comfortably put their head under water. My son is 3 and CANNOT do that.Had I known that I would not have signed him up.She told me if I would have called her sooner she would have given me a refund but since I waited so long to call she was not going to refund me.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund.I didn't just stop bringing him for no reason. There was a VERY good valid reason.

Review: I applied for an emt class through ccac and I sent in the check required for the class and when the class started I never got a notification or anything telling me where to be or when to be so or even an acceptance letter so a month later February 5th I canceled the check. Which was way after the class started and on February 19th my bank notified me saying that ccac tried cashing my check and I called ccac and spoke to 10 different people and they all kept referring me to another person and finally the last person referred me to the first person that I called and I felt absolutely helpless and they told me they couldn't do anything about it. In July I just got a statement from a credit agency saying I owe money for a class I have never attended or heard back for and it is hurting my credit. It is really effecting my career and potentially my future. I want this fixed.Desired Settlement: I would like for the credit agency to stop harassing me for this ridiculous reason and for someone to actually help me resolve this situation and with it effecting my credit it could effect my career in the military getting my security clearance. I would like the mark removed from my credit and if that is not possible then compensation for effecting my future.
