Review: Well, the long and the short of this issue is with regards to my checking account with this bank. I never signed up for online bill pay with them however I reviewed my statements and I was being billed for months and months and months for this service at 4.95 due to not using the service. (Because I had no idea I was signed up for it). So, I called and only asked for a refund of the most recent month of 4.95. Which they did give. I then used bill pay once and then set up a future payment for Aug 19th. Now, because I never use this service I forgot about the set up of this future payment and didn't deposit funds to take care of it. I actually paid Wisconsin public service directly. Well, instead of the bank just cancelling the bill pay transaction due to no funds being in the account they actually "drafted" my account and then charged me TWENTY FIVE dollars as a return fee. (Even tho nothing ever returned.. or was presented to my account). I had NO idea this was how bill pay worked or I would never have agreed to stay enrolled once I realised they enrolled me without my consent. On top of that when I called in to recieve help with this I spoke with a lady on 08/19/2014 who stated she had to do "some further research" and would call me back. I never got a call back. I called today 08/20/2014 and I got the rudest person on the planet who yelled at me on the phone..was sooo rude and told me basically I wasn't getting the refund and that was that. I tried to explain to her I didn't understand the process of bill pay nor that it would actually "Draft" my account as like I said before..I never signed up for this..I had only used bill pay ONCE since its been attached to my account. She didn't care..She was rude and raised her voice etc. She kept cutting me off and finally I just gave her my number and told her to have a supervisor call me because I was done with this.Desired Settlement: First- I want bill pay cancelled on my account effective immediately. Second- I want to be refunded the "return" fee of 25.00 for the bogus "return" on my account. Nothing was returned..There just wasn't funds in my account to pay the future bill pay.Third- I want every single 4.95 that was charged to my account for "non use" refunded. I didn't ask for that before but after all of this I want those charges refunded as well.

I have banked with this bank for approx 3 years. Their System is extremely slow each transaction takes minutes instead of seconds. I had a illegal transaction of approx 13 dollars and I contacted the bank. I was told I have to file a police report and they would not do anything without a report. I called the manager at Depere office by Humana office and manager told me the same thing. So Customer needs to take a day off from work go to the police station file a report to get 13 dollars back. I bank with 5 other banks and I called them and asked what they would do in this case, none of them would force the customer to file a police report for such a small amount. This bank refused to investigate the illegal charge. Guess what I am closing my account. What a bad customer service.

Review: I have been a customer of CFCU for over 15 years. In the past year I have received from them, the worst customer service I've ever experienced. ANYWHERE. I hope to share my experience so that no on else trusts their money with this type of inept staff. Last year I graduated and after my grace period, needed to repay my student loans. I spoke with [redacted], a loan officer, who after 3 separate emails including my updated address, was still unable to send my loan paperwork to the correct address. She sent the paperwork to 3 completely different addresses, one of which does not even exist in my current city. Eventually however, CFCU had court papers served which magically appeared at the correct address. Imagine that. This month I requested that the payment be made to my account 2 days late because I have been out of work on FMLA for West Nile Virus including meningitis and encephalitis complications. Because of just returning to work and a mountain of medical bills, I needed to delay my payment by 48 hours. [redacted] could just not make this happen. She informed me that the payment would be considered late and that I would have to send a check. NO sympathy or help in a very stressful situation for me. My credit has already suffered tremendously since I could not work for over 6-8 weeks. She also told me CFCU would try to withdraw the payment from my current account, but that if the funds were not there it would not go through. The night before, my dad put $60 in my account just so I could get gas to get to and from work so I could actually get paid in order to dig myself out of my financial hole due to my sickness. ONCE AGAIN, Gibas made a HUGE mistake. I ended up at work, 60 miles from my house, gas light on in my car with a negative balance in my current bank account. And CFCU could not fix her mistake in the 8 hours I gave them to do so. PLEASE for your financial well-being, do NOT choose Community First CU.Desired Settlement: I want my student loan forgiven. I also want all of the overdraft fees that I have received from [redacted] repaid. I want a personal apology from [redacted] and I want her fired.

Review: I received a document in the mail to call, stop in, or apply online for guranteed approval for a lower interest rate on my current vehicle. So after contacting this credit union they told me that me vehicle I was looking to finance was not worth the total I owe. I however knew this going forward so I thought the mailing was a joke to begin with but I said what the heck I will give it a try anyways seeing the mailing said GURANTEED APPROVAL, but to no avail of course I was told the mailing must of been an error and there is nothing they could do unless I wanted to make a very high down payment to lower the total value of what my vehicle is worth. So now I ask you who in there right mind is going to pay a pretty significant down payment on a refinance loan just to save a few pecent and a few dollars per month?Desired Settlement: If you cannot provide me with the serices that are GURANTEED to be approved then stop sending me these crappy advertisments. I receive these advertisements every year at about the same time. I am assuming this must be like a holiday gimmick you run, and if you can hold up your end of the deal stop sending me crap. This is a lot of my time I DO NOT need to waste.

Review: My account was charged once before with overdraft fees over $200.00 and a local branch manager at the Ballard Street resolved by finding out that the bank was not releasing the merchant hold while deducting the amount from my checking account. She credited my account. This year in December 12, 2014 it happened again. I went into to talk to the bank branch manager and he tried to explain things in a matter that I was at fault for spending more than I have. He would not listen nor would he investigate. When I asked about the time stamped of the transactions in questions he stated he cannot see those details but I certainly spent that money and did not have the funds therefore I incurred those bank charges. I reviewed my account with him and my statement showed positive account balance but yet each transaction the posted was posted with an overdraft fee. He simply stated that the system charge me due to no money available. I had again over $200.00 dollars of service charges. This bank if a crook at taking consumers money and will not change the practices. The branch manager that once found this error and refund my money is no longer with the bank. Honest workers are not employed but only crooks.Desired Settlement: I want refunds for service fees that I did not incurred due to their shady business practices. There is no possible way the bank would allowed me to use my debit card and run 7 transactions without having the funds. I have the funds but they continue to charge my account until my account was in the negative balance and would not refund any of the service fees.

Review: Application of payments, customer service, & discrimination. A few years ago, my husband became disabled, no income. I paid my mortgage with no late payments. In 2012 I needed to refinance, they refused to give me lower rate as my credit went down due to late payments (because I paid my mortgage on time). So my interest increased and they refinanced at a higher rate. All the while with a carefree attitude. Fine, I then had a job change, which unfortunately set me back and then the co decided to go different route. I was without a job for a number of months and living on unemployment, I did get a prt-time job, set up arragements to get current. I then rcvd a full time job. Our arrangements were to pay about $200 xtra and use my income tax refund to get current. This where the problem lies, I have been paying $190 on top of the regular mnths payment, and yet it still shows that I am 4 months behind. I was assured that yes it was being applied, but I don't see it. I see that it was being applied to the principle, but then I asked how is that getting me current? This was 2 weeks ago, I rcvd a call this am, stating that I was behind, I asked him, "did you guys figure out how to explain to me how I'm getting current?" he passed me on, and she then stated that she wasn't looking into (too much work) and will have another rep give me a call back. Mean while their advertising states how they save our community money-news flash-THEY ARE NOT! I have filed a complaint with them (6 months ago) - no call back ( I do have email confirmation to prove it). Got the run around that I have to take time out MY day to stop in. On top of that I had major surgery 6 weeks ago, got "yelled" at for not calling and informing them. I am so tired of the crap. I have making payments, I have accepted their stupid excuses as to why a customer of 20 plus years and has paid 100% on time, couldn't qualify for a lower interest rate, maybe they should just foreclose and try to sell and recoup the money. I'm so done, I don't need this, I have a life too. And to be laughed at because I had surgery. unacceptable, last straw!Desired Settlement: The damage is done! Better terms and rates and transparency! Treated like human being with feelings, don't make light of my situation, like it doesn't matter. I also shouldn't have to look at my statements for my escrow balance.

Regards,

This company advertises helping people, they want to know your story to help. If they are willing to take over current auto loans or credit card loans then that lets customers know maybe there is a chance to get a lower interest rate. but they do not look at the entire situation they only look at one thing and that is race.

Review: I have a handful of different bank accounts with a few banks. I have never overdrawn with any of them except this one. With all my bank accounts I use the online banking features to see what purchases have been made and where my balance is. My wife and I only use our debit cards and avoid checks so that we have a live trace of our spending. With all of our other banks our information is updated instantly and after a purchase is made that information remains visible and is maintained. Not true with Community First Credit Union, when you make a purchase with them you can visually see the charge that same day. However after 24 hours of the purchase no matter where or what they will erase that transaction and return your balance to its original state. Then it can take sometimes up to 3 to even 4 days for some transactions to reappear. If my wife buys a $10 lunch or gets $30 in gas and she checks the balance first to make sure its good to go what she doesn't know is that 5 other charges are no longer on the online banking. The balance and available balance is never accurate it is a lie. We only have this account still because of a loan we are stuck with them on and we had to get a checking with direct deposit. So we have my wife's pay checks deposited into there bank and we actually stopped using that account simply for this reason. But we had some extra cash in there and with holiday shopping we started using that one again. Well it was not long before the evil lying online banking stuck us with another $100 in fees. I never over draft with any other bank ever but I have paid this bank maybe $400 in fees in 2 years. Their system is designed to fail you so that this happens. I called and complained about this and here is their response along with how they run this scam. If you make a purchase on your card they claim that if the merchant does not close the transaction in 24 hours then they replace the funds to your balance and the transaction no longer exist unless the merchant closes it at which then it comes back. I asked them how they think that possibly makes any sense, to which they reply, we should be balancing our check book and this wont happen. This is 2014 I do not even have checks for that account it is completely a digital account with my Debt Card and my Online Banking. I have the same style accounts with other banks and none of them do I have this problem. The second I make a purchase with my debt card with my primary bank that transaction is logged on my Online Banking and it will not be removed unless I get it refunded. I went to my primary bank which is very close to this one and told them my story. The bank manager understood what they meant by the merchant closing a transaction but he told me that Community First is doing that on purpose to gain more overdraft fee income. He said that most banks will not remove an unclosed transaction for at least 4 to 5 days. That is because most businesses need time to get that process done on their end. I also questioned several other banks to which I was told the same information. Community First is doing what they are doing strictly to confuse people and gain overdraft fee income. It might be legal but it is very misleading and dishonest, it is lying in my eyes. My account balance will never be accurate with Community First Online Banking unless I never use the Debit Card and make only ATM transactions. My banker suggested I try to report them to the Revdex.com. The Credit Union will not bargain or give any fees back they will just tell me I need to balance my non-existent check book better. I hope you can help me with this!Desired Settlement: I would like some or all of my over draft fees refunded and I would also like to see a letter from them showing me they are changing that policy so that others do not get victimized by this as well.

Community First CU I would switch banks if I where you I had fraud transactions happen on my acct and they gave me a run around I ended up getting stuck with all fees 75.00+ save yourself the [redacted] and don't start with them but if you are with them Leave
