Community Learning Center Of San Antonio Reviews (1)

Dear Ms***,
Community Learning Center is a not-for-profit organization, which provides various services (primarily vocational rehabilitation) to persons with disabilitiesMs*** has been provided with information and referral regarding treatment for the infestation, which is the
substance of her complaint Community Learning Center, in all regards, exervised due dilligence in provision of services the complainant's niece We provide community-based services to a wide spectrum of clients The complainant was provided with information which we obtained, on her behalf, from the Texas Department of Health in Austin We explored potential resources to assist her financially (&92.95.) Department of Health advised that because the condition was not a "reportable" disease, no financial resources are available to address her requset for fiscal remuneration An identical assessment was provided by San Antonio's Metropolitan Health District At the time of the occurence, Community Learning Center was a service provider for the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) An inquiry was made to them regarding the complainant's issue, and they indicated that there were no funds available, through them or any other agency they were aware of, to satisfy the complainant's request
The State Health Department provided the following information If one isolates the parasites from any host for a period of hours, their life cycle will complete and they will expire without any environmental treatment at all This information was provided to the complainant immediately following the onset of the situation She and her neice both obtained medical treatment, sufficient to terminate the condition
The onset of the condition was not a result of negligence on the part of Community Learning Center; we took all necessary and reasonable actions to prevent (monitoring personal hygiene), and once identified, to terminate the condition in all parties involved, immediately at the time that the condition was identified We attempted diligently to address the complainant's request for remuneration All other parties involved, (including complainant's niece) who contracted the condition were treated by their own medical providers, and exercised the above mentioned 72-hour isolation process and/or environmental treatment at their own discretion and expense All persons, other than the complainant, had satisfactorily resolved the situation with 7-days
As mentioned above, at the time of the occurrence, Community Learning Center was providing Community Support Services to the Alamo Local Authority (ALA) on a contract basis Additional perspective on the complainant's issue may be obtained from the ALA's Compliance Reviewer, Mr*** *** He can be contacted at ***
We regret that the complainant is not satisfied that her outstanding account of $is not covered by her insurance provider However, Community Learning Center has throughout done our best to assist her with information and referral to appropriate resources Community Learning Center at all times performed our duties appopriately, and exervised all due caution and dilligence
If we may be of service to provide additional information to comply with your investigation, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Respectfully,
*** ***
