The response is completely new information to me regarding meeting me in an effort to reduce the overall billI was never lead to believe that such a meeting could lead to such an outcome, and, to be honest, I don't remember even being offered such a visit in the first place! All our communication was over the phoneThe only time I declined any visit was for the initial appointment when the plumber said he would be in the area but I would not be home that day [redacted] Also I dispute the number of visits made over the years, being more likely three over the past five years, but that is perhaps irrelevant because how many times does a private house need a plumber in an average year? The point is this is the plumber I used when I needed one

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/23) */
On [redacted]th, [redacted], our service plumber went to [redacted], to clear a plugged bath tub. He left [redacted] at approximately 13:30 and made the 35-45 minute drive to [redacted]. When he arrived, he checked the drain by running a large...

amount of water and determined the drain was clear and the septic was probably overloaded.
He assisted Mr. [redacted] with further investigation, by removing the septic tank cover and using a length of new pipe (with a small piece removed), He determined the tank needed to be pumped. Since, we do not provide this service, he returned to [redacted]' When he arrived in [redacted] at approximately 15:50, he called to see if there were other calls before heading home.
All of our service calls begin charging when we dispatch the call, lots of calls are completed within the hour. When calls are at a distance as [redacted] or even [redacted] our time is charged out during time to and from the job. It would be unfair to send a plumber to a call and not pay him to get there and back for out of area requests.
It is unfortunate, Mr. [redacted] does not recognize that distance takes time and time must be recovered. The previous day, I offered to meet with Mr. [redacted], as I was going to be in the area, but he declined, saying he just arrived home and he would prefer to meet the following day. Travel costs may have been reduced if he had taken me up on my offer.

We endeavour to treat all our customers fairly and are disappointed that we have a customer who is not completely satisfied
