The Technician who answered my phone call said he represented[redacted]). I had googled [redacted] Tech support to report a failing of downloads of my [redacted] books. He told me that 3 people were using my account so they were hacking from my network and asked for me to open my lap top where he took control WITHOUT MY PERMISSION....and he searched for foreigner who were using my network and told me they could provide a life time's protection from this for $140. Believing they were working for [redacted] which he told me he was repeatedly I paid them using my credit card. Before this he went to my [redacted] page where I thought he was charging it to my legitimate [redacted] account but then he said no it was an account for [redacted] service and hence I gave him my credit number. He gave me his name and number to call him anytime..[redacted]....he had an Indian accent. I am sick with RA so was not thinking straight. After the transaction I called [redacted] who put me through to [redacted] Support and they verified that this was a scam. I have reported this to my bank but am afraid that they can hack my computers and cannot afford to lose $140. The bank has to decide if it is disputable even though I believe it is fraud but did not find out till it was too late. They asked to know if I was happy with the service but I believe there is no service but it was fraud as they misrepresented [redacted] and I did not know the company's name until they emailed me a receipt. Only then could I check if they were with [redacted].
