When the vehicle was rented, the husband (renter) initialed that he accepted the loss damage waiver This was explained in detail and includes a separate "notice of liability" form that is required by the state of Wisconsin and was also signed by the renter By purchasing the loss damage waiver, the renter was covered fully during the entire term of the rental (days) During that term, the renter always has the ability to cancel this coverage by coming back into our location so that a vehicle inspection can be completed and the appropriate items can be signed on the contract Our branch manager spoke with the renter and agreed to issue a goodwill credit of $plus tax This credit was issued on July 28, and we were led to believe that this resolved the situation We care greatly about customer service and are willing to split the loss damage waiver cost in half The total of the loss damage waiver charged was $and we already credited $ We would be willing to credit an additional $plus tax in order to resolve this issue We think this is a fair resolution and if agreed to by the renter, we will process the credit in a timely fashion

The
renter said she spoke to Ace regarding using her credit card to cover the
rental Ace records all conversations and they reviewed the tape and
said, the conversation did not address the renter using her credit
card to cover the rental. When the
renter came in to rent the
vehicle, we reiterated our policy that we do not accept credit card coverage
which is listed in our policy page (see below):
Rates
are for renters or olderA valid drivers license, major credit card in the
renter’s own name, and proof of full coverage insurance (if not purchasing
ours) must be presented at time of pick up“Customers who use credit card
insurance as their primary source of insurance for the rental will need to
purchase LDW and SLI at the counter.” We
required the renter to purchase LDW and SLI or she could decline
the rental and we would cancel all charges The renter decided to rent the vehicle We followed up with Ace again and they reiterated that
there was no conversation about the renter using her credit card to cover the
rental We spoke with the renter and she said that Ace was lying
We gave the renter the phone number to Ace so that she could contact
them directly We also opened up an incident on Ace in which they noted
the details
Given
the circumstances, we are not able to issue a credit to the customer

The original amount billed to the customer was $(including the fuel charge of $52.33) We have credited the customer $which leaves a balance of $still charged to the customers credit card This is $more than the fuel charge There was some confusion as to how much the renter's insurance company was going to pay toward rental and in hindsight they would have paid the additional $ However the renter's insurance company cut a check to the renter for $to make up the difference This means the renter received an over payment from the insurance company of $ At this point we believe the renter has received their full refund from both us and their insurance company

waiver, the renter was covered fully during the entire term of the rental (15 days).  During that term, the renter always has the ability to cancel this coverage by coming back into our location so that a vehicle inspection can be completed and the appropriate items can be signed on the contract.  Our branch manager spoke with the renter and agreed to issue a goodwill credit of $64.79 plus tax.  This credit was issued on July 28, 2015 and we were led to believe that this resolved the situation.  We care greatly about customer service and are willing to split the loss damage waiver cost in half.  The total of the loss damage waiver charged was $224.85 and we already credited $64.79.  We would be willing to credit an additional $47.64 plus tax in order to resolve this issue.  We think this is a fair resolution and if agreed to by the renter, we will process the credit in a timely fashion.
