BUYER BEWARE
if you plan on buying from Compass Auction, make sure you know every single little detail about the item you are buying. They will hide behind their legal documents, NOT ethics or morals. I recently purchased a jet ski, the pictures THEY took were of the areas that were in good shape, then I go to pick it up and find out the hull is cracked in two places. I spoke with one of the owners and all he would say is that it's sold "as is" and I understand that, but where does just basic ethics come in? Prior to that I bought something and they shipped it to a wrong address and I never did get it. It was very very difficult to get a refund. Then I purchased a welder, documents stated "in working" condition. NO IT WAS NOT and it cost me over $2000 to have it repaired. When I called into the office to discuss this with someone, I just kept getting put on hold and eventually hung up on or they would never call me back. This went on for over a month. If they had negative stars I would have chose that one.
BUYERS BEWARE

Compass hosted an auction in which they represented that a piece of equipment was in good working order. Upon receipt of the item it was not working. Item was purchased in early February. The item was shipped to me several weeks later. I eventually received the item and took the unit to a certified hypertherm dealer. The dealer checked the unit out and did some basic repairs and returned it to me. I called the repair company back and explained that the unit was still not working property. They asked that I bring it back to them for inspection. They finally inspected the unit again and informed me that there was nothing that they could do for me. The unit does not work as required. I called and spoke with *** today who complained that I took so long to get back to him and that there was nothing he could do. He told me that all sales are final and that there is language in the sales contract that says they are not responsible for items that do not work. I explained that the auction listing clearly stated that the item was working. He informed me that he was told that by the company that he was selling the item for. I explained that his listing and the fine print contradict each other, but he did not seem to care. He informed me that there was nothing he could do for me.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a refund or a partial refund of the item. This unit cost me 1,200 plus the bill from the repair company.

We have provided the link to the item in question below. Our company's terms are clearly stated that all items sale as is where is all sales are final there are no warranties either implied, expressed or otherwise stated. "ALL SALES ARE MADE "AS IS, WHERE IS" AND BUYER ACKNOWLEDGES HAVING INSPECTED THE PROPERTY WHETHER IN PERSON OR ONLINE AND TO BE SATISFIED WITH SAME PRIOR TO BIDDING. BUYER IS SOLELY RELYING UPON THEIR OWN EXPERTISE IN CHOOSING TO MAKE ANY PURCHASE." If there are any questions on any item they should contact our office direct PRIOR to bidding on any item. On this item in question the voltage is a 480 volt plug and any inquiries to office was clearly stated that we do not have the ability to test this item due to its voltage requirements. There was never a statement that was made or otherwise provided about operational ability ONLY the general basic information specs of the equipment was listed. Also noted is the fact that the buyer stated that he had the equipment in a repair shop which completed a repair and returned to the buyer. Then buyer contacted the repair shop once again that it was not working correctly and the shop did another inspection???.... On just this statement alone, we have no idea or way of knowing if this buyer had put the equipment into use or what other modifications he had made to the item especially since a long period of time had passed between the items date of shipment which was on 2/7/2018 as confirmed by the bill of lading on file. So the item has been in the buyers possession since it left our facility on that date. Buyer submitted the statement to the Revdex.com on 5/10/2018. Also, Buyers are fully and solely responsible for arranging all of their shipments, our company does not coordinate shipment in any way therefore we have no knowledge of the logistics the buyer has set forth. All items are always open for inspection prior to the auction. And all auction terms and conditions clearly state if bidding online the following: "If buyer has a question regarding lot information or images, contact our office PRIOR to bidding. If images display obvious information for lot with limited item text description and/or do not match lot described, buyer is using their expertise, knowledge and judgment to purchase the lot based on what the images reveal, and the lot information provided. For a complete rebuttal to the buyers statement to the Revdex.com. At no time was there ever a statement made that the machinery was in good working condition, the item has been in the buyer's possession for 3 months prior to ever contacting us, the auction listing in no way states that the item was working, buyer is in complete control of the shipping logistics and details process.
